I. Introduction
Educational Tour gives us opportunities and exposure to visit prestigious agencies that may help
our students visualize what they are learning at school. This activity helps them develop their
personality since social graces and etiquette are learned too by experience. Through field trips and
seminars, students are able to acquire more knowledge and be familiar with the things that are
related to their course.
A great way to explore and gain experience, the College students of Osias Colleges, Inc., had its
Educational day tour last May 4, 2018.
As part of the school’s curriculum, the 1st year , 2nd year, 3rd year and 4rth year BA, Education
and ACT students spent an Educational day tour on a specified destination last May 4, 2018. The
educational trip with 213 participants covers different plants and industries and also venture
famous tourist spots the South has to offer. They were advised to be very attentive with the lectures
recited by the tourist guide and a complete documentation of the itinerary because 30% of the final
examination shall be derived from the said tour.
II. Narrative
The assembly time was 3am at Osias Colleges. The College of Education, Business Administration
and Associate Computer Technology students were gathered early since they wouldn’t want to be
left behind. The college students together with their teachers peacefully boarded their assigned
buses. Each of those buses has designated teachers to guide every student in the bus. There were
5 coach buses under the direct supervision of EGT Tours, Inc., in-charge of the tour. Each buses
have one tourist guide assigned to provide supervision, introduction and lectures. The seating
arrangement was designed to maintain order. Upon boarding and fixing of baggage inside the bus,
the Tour Guide immediately discussed the rules and regulations of the educational tour,
highlighting the do’s and don’ts during the duration of the fieldtrip.
After 3 hours of travel, there stopover was at SLEX Shell where they ate their breakfast. Some
students shared on the different meals they brought. When they were done, the teachers made sure
that the place where they ate was clean, and then travel continued.
They headed to Gardenia Bakeries Philippines, Inc. and arrived there at about 9am. The tour guide
discussed to the students the history of Gardenia Philippines, at about an hour of listening to her,
the students have already learned the relevant facts about the manufacturing plant. They managed
to know and see how breads were being processed. After the lecture, they took a lot of pictures.
They proceeded to Rizal’s Shrine and saw his monument and his famous abode. Upon entering
Rizal’s house, they saw utensils, bedroom, dining room and even the bathroom. The tour guide
made the students realize that even if Rizal is not a tall person, you can never step onto him, his
principles and his philosophy. Even if he is just small, he has a magnificent and brilliant heart and
mind, in which until now, his life and works affect each one of us. The memorabilia of Rizal
depicted Jose Rizal as a Filipino Hero
Lunch was at Picnic Grove in Tagaytay City at about 12:30pm. After which, they headed their way
next to the Palace in the Sky, Tagaytay at 3pm, then proceeded to Paseo Nuvali, Laguna and
enjoyed the multitudes of Koi fish in the lake and resting in the park. They had their dinner at
around 7pm at the South Luzon Expressway and with 30 minutes break time, they boarded to go
home at 8pm.
