INTRODUCTION
• Nandi Hills is an ancient hill station built by Ganga Dynasty in
the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state.
• It is 10 km from Chickballapur town and approximately 60
km from Bengaluru.
• The hills are near the town Nandi.
• In traditional belief, the hills are the origin of the Arkavathy
river, Ponnaiyar River, Palar River, Papagni River and Penna
River.
• Watching the sunrise at Nandi Hills is popular with tourists.
• The first ever SAARC summit hosted by India was held at
Nandi Hills in 1986.
• It was also used by Tipu Sultan as a summer retreat.

WORKING PRINCIPLE/ DEVELOPMENT
• The climate at the top of the hill made it of interest
to horticulturists.
• Several species of plant were introduced into an
experimental garden.
• In 1860, tea plants were tried on Nandi Hills by Hugh
Cleghorn
• The Department of Horticulture is setting up a one-crore
food court.
• A 30-lakh music stage, located on a three-and-a-half acre
grove, will be used to conduct cultural programs.
• the Horticulture Department is developing 140 acres
(0.57 km2) of land in the Nandi Hills region with the creation
of a large-scale exotic botanical garden.
• A planetarium with an initial one-crore investment is also
being constructed.
• There are also proposals to construct cable cars, at the cost
of 15 to 20 crore, to protect the local environment and
reduce the number of vehicles going to the hills.
INTERVENTION AS PUBLIC SPACE
• Nandi Hills is a destination for hiking and trekking for
beginners to intermediate level.
• Trails in the area include the staircase-based trekking path
which starts near Sultanpet village.
• As of March 2022, visitors require prior District
administration passes to visit Nandi hills on weekends to
manage parking and reduce overcrowding on the hill
station.
• Only 1,000 two-wheelers and 300 light motor vehicles
parking is allowed on the hill station.
• Passes can be purchased at the Ticket counter at the base
of the hill station or through KSTDC website.
• Tippu’s Summer Residence: Remains of a small two-story
building, used by Mysuru ruler Tipu Sultan can be seen on
top of the Hills. A pond and a garden are nearby.
• Nandi Hills has a garden/play area for families and kids to
relax and play.
• A line of eateries are available on top of the Hills and
caters to your culinary needs. Several shopkeepers and
sellers also cater to the requirements of the visitors. More
restaurants can be found on the highway en route to the
Hills

• Nandi Hills is a destination for hiking and trekking for
beginners to intermediate level.
• Its development is initiated by government at a very huge
scale.
• Major role is trekking and tourist spot.
• No big construction can be done on the hill. But
surroundings can be developed

INTRODUCTION
• Lavasa is a private, planned city built near Pune, India.
• It is stylistically based on the Italian town Portofino, with a
street and several buildings bearing the name of that town.
• A 100-square-kilometre (39 sq mi)or 32-square-kilometre
(12 sq mi) project being developed by HCC.
• Located at a distance of about 65 km from Pune, the
beautifully planned city of Lavasa is surrounded by the
majestic Western Ghats
• Lavasa has won several awards for its plans and designs
• Dasve village in Lavasa won awards from the Congress for
the New Urbanism and the American Society of Landscape

WORKING PRINCIPLE/ DEVELOPMENT
• Construction of two out of the five planned towns is ongoing, and a
number of residences have been completed as of 2013.
• By 2011 four hotels and a city center were completed.
• A primary, middle, and high school, Le Mont High, has been
constructed as well.
• The town also boasts a hospitality management college, École
hôtelière Lavasa.
• Scot Wrighton was the administrator of the city as of 2011 and held
the office until 2019
• Smaller, pre-existing communities sometimes interact with Lavasa
and its residents.
• Some have been the focus of CSR efforts, and villagers provide
construction labour to the project.
• Lavasa has established a pattern of promoting planned partnerships
with prestigious, overseas institutions that do not ultimately see
fruition.

INTERVENTION AS PUBLIC SPACE
• Planned sports facilities include a Nick Faldo-designed golf course and
a Manchester City-branded football academy.
• A theme park of over 26 hectares (64 acres) in size is planned.
• Lavasa has won several awards for its plans and designs
• Dasve village in Lavasa won awards from the Congress for the New
Urbanism and the American Society of Landscape Architects.
• Lavasa organizes a nature trail that takes you through picturesque
landscapes, lakes and hills. The routs also includes a butterfly stop,
where you can watch and photograph these brightly coloured insects.
• Lavasa is a haven for water sports lovers.
• Sprawling across 1.03 hectares, Dasvino is a great place to unwind. It
has fitness therapies, rejuvenating spa treatments, multi-cuisine
restaurants, gymnasium, indoor pool and a squash court.

CONCLUSION
• Lavasa is the first privately planned hill station in india.
• Major economy generates from tourist.
• Hotels and architecture are the attraction points.
• New development like schools and other education
proposal has been initiated.
• Land is under some political protocol but still gains highest
tourists

INTRODUCTION
• Tilak nagar market comes in west delhi area.
• It is known for its market
• One of the largest market place in delhi
• Having variety of products
• Not only restricted to one specific product.
• It is a mix type of market flea + commercial
WORKING PRINCIPLE/ DEVELOPMENT
• It has both flea and commercial type shops.
• The Tilak Nagar Central Market is located in the heart of Tilak Nagar
and is bustling with activity during the most part of the day.
• One of the first things that strike you about the market is its density
and distinct nature.
• This market is dominated by footwear and apparel showrooms.
• The central market also has a fair number of Jewellery shops such as
Lovely Jewelry, R.K Jewelry, Malik Jewelry etc. Although the
jewellery shops are not as abundant as the footwear and apparel
shops, they do a brisk business and the above mentioned shops are
one of the more trusted names in ornaments.
• The central market has a limited but rich food palate with street food
and Indian snacks being the major chunk of it.
INTERVENTION AS PUBLIC SPACE
• Direct connectivity to metro station
• Introduce plantation and footpath
• Improves parking facilities
• Complexes building for manage more shop in one
• Since it has a big book market, places are made to read books out of
the store
• Vendor street management

CONCLUSION
• Tilak nagar is the emerging market place in delhi.
• Major economy generates from book stores.
• Parking facilities are improved.
• Multilevel complexes are needed to bifurcate the traffic.
• It comes under the busiest market place in delhi.
• Its planning is different fronm sarojini nagar market.

  • 3. INTRODUCTION • Nandi Hills is an ancient hill station built by Ganga Dynasty in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state. • It is 10 km from Chickballapur town and approximately 60 km from Bengaluru. • The hills are near the town Nandi. • In traditional belief, the hills are the origin of the Arkavathy river, Ponnaiyar River, Palar River, Papagni River and Penna River. • Watching the sunrise at Nandi Hills is popular with tourists. • The first ever SAARC summit hosted by India was held at Nandi Hills in 1986. • It was also used by Tipu Sultan as a summer retreat. WORKING PRINCIPLE/ DEVELOPMENT • The climate at the top of the hill made it of interest to horticulturists. • Several species of plant were introduced into an experimental garden. • In 1860, tea plants were tried on Nandi Hills by Hugh Cleghorn • The Department of Horticulture is setting up a one-crore food court. • A 30-lakh music stage, located on a three-and-a-half acre grove, will be used to conduct cultural programs. • the Horticulture Department is developing 140 acres (0.57 km2) of land in the Nandi Hills region with the creation of a large-scale exotic botanical garden. • A planetarium with an initial one-crore investment is also being constructed. • There are also proposals to construct cable cars, at the cost of 15 to 20 crore, to protect the local environment and reduce the number of vehicles going to the hills.

INTERVENTION AS PUBLIC SPACE • Nandi Hills is a destination for hiking and trekking for beginners to intermediate level. • Trails in the area include the staircase-based trekking path which starts near Sultanpet village. • As of March 2022, visitors require prior District administration passes to visit Nandi hills on weekends to manage parking and reduce overcrowding on the hill station. • Only 1,000 two-wheelers and 300 light motor vehicles parking is allowed on the hill station. • Passes can be purchased at the Ticket counter at the base of the hill station or through KSTDC website. • Tippu’s Summer Residence: Remains of a small two-story building, used by Mysuru ruler Tipu Sultan can be seen on top of the Hills. A pond and a garden are nearby. • Nandi Hills has a garden/play area for families and kids to relax and play. • A line of eateries are available on top of the Hills and caters to your culinary needs. Several shopkeepers and sellers also cater to the requirements of the visitors. CONCLUSION • Nandi Hills is a destination for hiking and trekking for beginners to intermediate level. • Its development is initiated by government at a very huge scale. • Major role is trekking and tourist spot. • No big construction can be done on the hill. But surroundings can be developed

INTRODUCTION • Lavasa is a private, planned city built near Pune, India. • It is stylistically based on the Italian town Portofino, with a street and several buildings bearing the name of that town. • A 100-square-kilometre (39 sq mi)or 32-square-kilometre (12 sq mi) project being developed by HCC. • Located at a distance of about 65 km from Pune, the beautifully planned city of Lavasa is surrounded by the majestic Western Ghats • Lavasa has won several awards for its plans and designs • Dasve village in Lavasa won awards from the Congress for the New Urbanism and the American Society of Landscape Architects. WORKING PRINCIPLE/ DEVELOPMENT • Construction of two out of the five planned towns is ongoing, and a number of residences have been completed as of 2013. • By 2011 four hotels and a city center were completed. • A primary, middle, and high school, Le Mont High, has been constructed as well. • The town also boasts a hospitality management college, École hôtelière Lavasa. • Scot Wrighton was the administrator of the city as of 2011 and held the office until 2019 • Smaller, pre-existing communities sometimes interact with Lavasa and its residents. • Some have been the focus of CSR efforts, and villagers provide construction labour to the project. • Lavasa has established a pattern of promoting planned partnerships with prestigious, overseas institutions that do not ultimately see fruition. INTERVENTION AS PUBLIC SPACE • Planned sports facilities include a Nick Faldo-designed golf course and a Manchester City-branded football academy. • A theme park of over 26 hectares (64 acres) in size is planned. • Lavasa has won several awards for its plans and designs • Dasve village in Lavasa won awards from the Congress for the New Urbanism and the American Society of Landscape Architects. • Lavasa organizes a nature trail that takes you through picturesque landscapes, lakes and hills. The routs also includes a butterfly stop, where you can watch and photograph these brightly coloured insects. • Lavasa is a haven for water sports lovers. • Sprawling across 1.03 hectares, Dasvino is a great place to unwind. CONCLUSION • Lavasa is the first privately planned hill station in india. • Major economy generates from tourist. • Hotels and architecture are the attraction points. • New development like schools and other education proposal has been initiated. • Land is under some political protocol but still gains highest tourists

WORKING PRINCIPLE/ DEVELOPMENT • It has both flea and commercial type shops. • The Tilak Nagar Central Market is located in the heart of Tilak Nagar and is bustling with activity during the most part of the day. • One of the first things that strike you about the market is its density and distinct nature. • This market is dominated by footwear and apparel showrooms. • The central market also has a fair number of Jewellery shops such as Lovely Jewelry, R.K Jewelry, Malik Jewelry etc. Although the jewellery shops are not as abundant as the footwear and apparel shops, they do a brisk business and the above mentioned shops are one of the more trusted names in ornaments. • The central market has a limited but rich food palate with street food and Indian snacks being the major chunk of it.

CONCLUSION • Tilak nagar is the emerging market place in delhi. • Major economy generates from book stores. • Parking facilities are improved. • Multilevel complexes are needed to bifurcate the traffic. • It comes under the busiest market place in delhi. • Its planning is different fronm sarojini nagar market.
