Draw and label the following.
1. Ray BA 𝑩 𝑨
2. Ray BC 𝑩 𝑪
3. 𝑩𝑨 and 𝑩𝑪 are
opposite rays.

Naming an Angle
Kinds of Angle
Angle
•An Angle is a
figure formed
by two non-
collinear rays
with a common
endpoint, called
the vertex.

•Degrees ( ° ) – the unit used in
measuring an angle. Ex: 78°
• Protrator – the device used in
measuring an angle.
• ∠ - symbol
Angle and Points
⚫Angles can
have points in
the interior, in
the exterior or
on the angle.

Using 3 points:
∠ZXY or ∠YXZ
∠ZXW or ∠WXZ
∠WXY or ∠YXW
Note: Using the
vertex is for only one
angle. Therefore,
there is no ∠ X in this
figure.
Using the number or
letter: ∠ 1 and ∠ 2
Name the angles.

KINDS OF ANGLES
Acute Angle:
- an angle whose measure is
greater than 0° but less than 90.
Right Angle:
- an angle whose
measure is exactly 90 .
KINDS OF ANGLES
Obtuse Angle:
- an angle whose measure is greater than
90  but less than180.
Complete the table. Name the angle and
