7. A NEW SAFETY STANDARD IN FIRE PREVENTION
Isolcell has 60 years of experiences in research and development of new technologies
related to the production of machines and systems to treat and modify gaseous
mixtures.
Using this controlled atmosphere experience we took the opportunity to develop
a new and innovative PREVENTION system with the aim of EXCLUDING THE RISK OF FIRE
in designated areas

8. FIRE PREVENTION WITH OXYGEN REDUCTION SYSTEM ( ORS )
The atmosphere we breathe consists mainly of a mixture of nitrogen (78%) and oxygen (21%).
Nitrogen is the predominant gas in the atmosphere, is: NON TOXIC, NON POLLUTING and LEAVES NO
RESIDUES ON PROTECTED OBJECTS.
Nitrogen is an inert gas. Oxygen is the natural substance aiding every combustion process, including
human respiration. A fire will exist only if sufficient oxygen continuously reaches it to support the
speed of the reaction.

10. OUR MODEL: NATURE
The principle of the N2 FireFighter® method is to create an atmosphere in the areas
to be protected with a reduced oxygen content compared to normal conditions and
maintain it.
This modified atmosphere consists completely of natural gas and is therefore:
absolutely environment friendly and tolerable for the human organism.

14. GENERATE-MODIFY:
The N2 FIREFIGHTER® fire prevention system foresees the use of electrical
appliances which are based on the principle of molecular separation, to reduce
the level of oxygen;
It is a NATURAL PROCESS, as we change only the atmospheric parameters.

15. IMMISSIONS:
Filling of the space to be protected with the auto-extinguish
atmosphere to achieve the specified parameters

modification.

ADOX® system
PLUG & PLAY
Isolcell Italia offers a new range of nitrogen
generators. ADOX® VSA nitrogen generators is a
molecular sieves (CMS) nitrogen generator
operating at low pressure.
Its particular vacuum-regeneration helps in
lowering the energy consumption.
Nimos VSA nitrogen generators uses the storage
atmosphere to produce nitrogen and therefore
improve the performance up to 50%.
The functioning of the generator is controlled by an
oxygen analyzer and a microprocessor.

Energy costs for generating a self-
extinguishing atmosphere can reach
approximately 75% of total compressed air-
related costs
As shown in the diagram, other costs, are
minor in comparison.
It is therefore apparent that any energy
savings obtained through an adequate
technology can lead to substantial benefits
to the overall system economy.
Accordingly, it is important to assess,
among the various options, the one
that ensures minimum energy
consumption in the amortisation
period established.
