College Students Say the Darnedest ThingsAndy Carswell
This is a tongue-in-cheek presentation that is given to some of my classes at the very beginning of the semester. The presentation basically addresses some of the most consistently asked questions and statements by students that educators face from students, and serves as a good ice-breaker for students with whom I am not familiar. While being barraged by such statements/questions can get tedious over time, the author provides some (hopefully) helpful responses that when applied consistently across classrooms and cohort groups, can inject a little bit of common sense and a reality check to students when necessary. For veterans of the classroom, these statements/questions have all been heard before. For new professors/educators, this is a primer on just some of the things that you can expect students to ask/say over time...sometimes again and again. Cover art work by Ross Schmidt.

Job Search Survival Kit -- Nasty People Can Be Tamed --Anthony Hines
The following is a presenation that discusses possible ways to handle people at work who are just plain nasty to be around. Hopefully these tips will help you out if you are dealing with this in the workplace.
Who Am I….I am a hardworking guy who, like many others, found himself out of work during the economic downturn in 2010. After a long battle of wrong turns, job search strategies that led to no where, and dead end leads, I decided to take a more strategic approach to my job search. Like anything else in life, I needed to treat my search like a full-time job and create a plan that would allow me to stand out above the competition. This came in especially handy as I was in transition again in 2017. Basically, I just used the tips that I have shared with others and was out of work a total of ZERO days. Yes, I got a job offer the day after my last day at my previous job. Let me show you how I did it so you too can have a quicker landing than you would have had without my tips.
Why Am I Sharing What Helped Me…because I quickly realized that to handle an event like that is to focus on what you can control and share the experience to help others. I believe that an experience not shared is a lost opportunity in life, and that smart people learn from their mistakes and smarter people learn from other people’s experiences. Plus, I told myself that once I figured this out I would share it with others so that they too could navigate the world of unemployment. In these chapters, I show you how I did it so that you will have the confidence to make it through the process. I hope that this presentation helps you to get your next great job.

Know like and trust - Adrian Fleming
http://AdrianFleming.com
Hello, I’m Adrian Fleming, I’ve lived in the US too and work with people from places as far away as China, India, Romania and plenty of other countries too, and there’s a single rule that applies in all of these places that I’d like you to use to get better results, not just on a business level but a personal one too, I’m sure you’ve heard it before too, but maybe not applied it to every situation where you come in to contact with other people. So what phrase sums this up that you’ve probably heard before, that I want to help you apply in to other areas too? It’s “People buy form those they Know, Like and Trust”
Let’s just start with the logic, because no matter what language people speak and how they live, this is a great guiding principle, it’s also far more powerful in areas outside of sales. http://adrianfleming.com/know-like-trust/
Let’s keep it simple and just say, if people don’t know who you are then how can you communicate with them?
Second, if you don’t like somebody then spending time with them is not enjoyable and neither party gets the most out of the relationship.
And last but not least, trust is critical in more than just sales, you wouldn’t take advice from somebody you didn’t trust, you wouldn’t be friends with somebody you didn’t trust. Trust is about keeping your work, adding value to those you have any sort of relationship with. Trust is not just beneficial it’s essential. http://adrianfleming.com/know-like-trust/
Now I’m hearing you say, figuratively speaking, that you have bought from people you didn’t really like because you have little or no option and that you may know a few people you are not 100% sure you can trust, but in each case it hardly makes for the best relationship, and life is about relationships, whether you are buying, selling, learning, teaching, working or anything else you might do.
So a simple strategy to help others know like and trust you is a really good skill in marketing and being an entrepreneur for two reasons, one you can build and foster relationships but two, you can actually repel those who are not a good fit and not have to waste time, money and effort on them, so let me give you one of my strategies so you can apply and profit fro it immediately.
The strategy is Story Telling, it’s how we have communicated for centuries, from the days of cave paintings, through to Shakespeare and today through all the media channels we have at our disposal. http://adrianfleming.com/know-like-trust/

Make It Easy For People To Spend Money With You - Adrian FlemingAdrian Fleming
Make It Easy For People To Spend Money With You - Adrian Fleming
http://AdrianFleming.com
How many times have you decided you want something and then been delayed in getting it or hard to work through seemingly unnecessary problems to get it?
In everything I do, the number three thing I focus on, number one is making sure I deliver value to my market and number two is making sure I profit from it, is making sure for the people I want to have it, and that’s an important point, that it’s easy for them to spend their money with me.
If you are selling a product or service and you make it harder than necessary for people to buy it, the loser here is you, not them because they will find something else to buy. Just on a simple level, think about a time in a bar or restaurant where it’s taken an excessive amount of time to get served, in fact in one particular well known restaurant chain, while out with friends, we waited so long to get served we actually called the restaurant and asked them if they knew the phone number of a local pizza delivery company as we were hungry and as nobody had served us yet thought we would order one – yes was using a bit of humour, but if in restaurant it takes too long, then having starters, desert and drinks after dinner is far less likely and the chance of us returning drop too.
Once you’ve done the hard work of getting somebody to want to spend money with you, take it for them and take it quickly before they change their mind and when taking it do so in a way that makes them happy to give it to you, this means doing what you say you’ll do, when you say you’ll do it at the very least and if you can over deliver then that’s even better.
But we are not all in the hospitality business, so make sure whatever you do you have a plan of action for converting a prospect in to a customer, and think about what you would think if you were that customer and build your process based on this, not just what’s best for you. And make sure anybody else in your business knows what’s expected too.
And here’s pet hate of mine too, I imagine you’ve had or heard of a similar situation happen too. How many times have you tried to do something and then all you hear is how busy somebody else is, how he or she’ll have to fit you in if they can, how it’s not simple what you want and almost make out that they are doing you a favour taking your money? Welcome to the Program Your Destiny course. In this course, we will be learning the technology of personal transformation, neuroassociative conditioning (NAC) as pioneered by Tony Robbins. NAC is used to deprogram negative neuroassociations that are causing approach avoidance and instead reprogram yourself with positive neuroassociations that lead to being approach automatic. In doing so, you change your destiny, moving towards unlocking the hypersocial self within, the true self free from fear and operating from a place of personal power and love.
1. Step 1 Get Your Mind Right
Do not get Frustrated if someone is not interested, do
not take it personally… remember you do not want
anyone that is not interested…you are looking for
people who are looking for you…your are not
desperate and you have a mindset of abundance…you
not a pushy salesman ...Stay Focused!
Don’t Send out a Mass Email or Mass Text (unless you
have Internet Marketing Experience)… you want to
invite people personally…If you are talking for more
than 2 MINUTES, YOU’RE EXPLAINING TOO MUCH.
Don’t think you have to know everything because if you
study the company for 196 hours straight and you have
all the answers anyone could ever ask…then they think
they have to know all the answers as well and they will
feel its too much information to learn
2. Step 2 How to invite
Call a Friend or Family…say hello and whats up...etc. Hey I
am going to (make dinner, go to the store, pick up significant
other, go to work, head out the door…etc) right now…and this
may or may not be for you… but I am giving you a call
because I was wondering if you were open (do not say
interested) to looking at a side project that does not interfere
with your current job?
If they say …well what is it? You say it has to do with
promoting gold and silver… if your open to taking a look what
I can do is Send you some information via mail or email. And
if not no big deal.
If they say no...you say cool no problem…do you know
anyone who has an entrepreneur type personality?
If they say yes…say ok or cool...I will call you (if you are
mailing it) in a few days, so go ahead and listen to it when you
get it…
If you are sending them a website…say when can you watch
it…and you say you will call them in an hour to get your
feedback
3. Step 3 Inviting Others
If someone ask you what you have been up too…or if
you meet someone and they ask you what do you do
for a living… you say I promote gold and silver… and
most people will say how does that work etc…
You say I actually teach people how to do the same
thing from home… If your open to taking a look….I can
send you some info by mail or by email..if not no nbig
deal..
If they say yes…get their info and schedule a time to
follow up…If there is more time that you will be with
them… ask them what they do and talk about other
stuff…
4. Step 4 Following Up with a 3 way
When you call them back and ask if they saw it.
-If they say..I did not watch it… you say cool no problem…I am
going to get back to some others...I’ll call you back another
time…maybe I’ll call you tomorrow if I have time..is that good
for you?
-If they say yes… say cool…the say what did you like?
-If they say very little… you say did anything else catch your eye
or tell me a little more about that?
-If they say a lot…say cool...yeah so I want to introduce you to a
guy or lady that’s doing well…hold on a sec…and do 3 way.
-If they say I have some questions or if they ask you a
question….you say…great no problem… hold one one sec.. I
have someone that is doing well in this business…Let me get
them on the line real quick to answer your question(s).
Introduce and then do not talk at all .
5. Step 5 Call of Action and Urgency
You need to let them know that if they are interested and they know
it..they should get started because if more people join those others
will fall below them as opposed to your prospect falling underneath
someone else who hears about it later…maybe even someone they
know…. Remind them…how they get started will duplicate when you
help them build their team… You see if you take weeks or even
months to decide...you do not want everyone you talk too to take that
long to decide…
It they seem like they are interested and/or their questions have been
answered…you say it seems like your ready to get started? If they
say yes ..say great..let me tell what we are going to do now or here’s
the next step…
We want to make sure to fill out your application correctly…so I will
walk you through it…if they say ok..say Welcome to the Team
-Say, are you near a computer?… (if not take a paper application print
out applications so you know the questions -) If they say yes…say
how do you prefer your name to appear on your paychecks?…Note:
don’t hesitate when you ask for their social security & credit card info.
-If they are filling it out online tell them to go to numisnetwork.com/
(yourusername) click join then scroll… make small chit chat while
they wait for the page to load.
