My Teacher Essay For Kids
Writing an essay on the topic "My Teacher Essay For Kids" can present both challenges and
rewards. On one hand, the subject matter is relatively straightforward, revolving around personal
experiences and impressions of a teacher. However, the difficulty lies in striking a balance
between expressing genuine admiration and maintaining a suitable level of creativity that
engages young readers.
Crafting an essay for kids requires a thoughtful approach, considering the target audience's age
and comprehension level. The challenge is to convey the impact of a teacher in a way that
captivates the attention of young minds without becoming too complex or verbose. Selecting
appropriate vocabulary, employing vivid descriptions, and incorporating elements of storytelling
are essential to ensure the essay is accessible and enjoyable for its intended readers.
Moreover, maintaining a coherent structure is crucial. It can be challenging to structure the essay
in a manner that keeps the interest of children, as their attention spans may be shorter compared
to older readers. Finding the right balance between storytelling and conveying the key message
about the teacher's influence poses a unique set of challenges.
Despite the difficulties, writing an essay on this topic provides an opportunity for self-reflection
and appreciation. It allows the writer to recall personal experiences and articulate the positive
impact a teacher has had on their life. The challenge lies in translating these sentiments into a
piece that resonates with a young audience, fostering a connection between the reader and the
narrative.
In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic "My Teacher Essay For Kids" demands a delicate
blend of simplicity, creativity, and structure. Navigating these elements while maintaining a
genuine and heartfelt tone can be challenging but ultimately rewarding. It is a chance to express
gratitude and share positive experiences in a manner that captivates the imagination of young
readers.

Triumph Of The Will Leni Riefenstahl Analysis
Triumph of the Will (1935) directed by Leni Riefenstahl, was aimed at an audience
of middle and upper class Germans in the 1930 s to get people on board with Hitler
and the Nazi s. The main political comment that was constructed throughout Triumph
of the Will was that Hitler is a very powerful leader who united Germanyto become a
strong nation, which can also be viewed alternatively by a separate audience. The
shaping of this was greatly influenced by Germany losing World War I, the country
was humiliated and in an economic downfall and was in need of a new leader. The
Nazi Party came and were well disciplined, and appealing to the middle and upper
class, they promised prosperity and most importantly, national pride, regaining

Prelude And Fugue Essay
Prelude and Fugue in G Minor, BWV 861 (Book I) Johann Sebastian Bach (1685
1750) Bach completed the first volume of the Well Tempered Clavier in 1722 at
the age of 37. The aim of the book was to write a prelude and fugue in all keys
which are arranged in in an ascending chromatic scale in pairs of major and minor
scales, for example, C major, C minor, C sharp major, C sharp minor etcetera, for
those who wished to learn. Only seven of the 96 pieces have an explicit tempo
marking, but BWV 861 is not one of them. Though written in a minor, the piece is by
no means stately or solemn in tone. The prelude opens with a dream like trill in the
right hand with comes back later when the subject is absent. At such moments... Show

Each section is subdivided into more sections. The first section introduces the
motif which includes fast, slightly detached and energetic chords. The motif comes
back slightly modified within a couple of bars time. The second section modulates
to the key of B major which is divided into two more subsections which is
extremely different from the loud, energetic and almost violent start. However,
here too the key changes momentarily in D sharp minor. The final section that
closes the piece echoes the first section which then ends in its tonic key. Prelude in
G Major, Opus 32, No. 5 Sergei Rachmaninoff (1873 1943) Unlike any of his
predecessors like Bach or Scriabin, Rachmaninoff s Preludes have not been
arranged in any particular order. This prelude is from a set of thirteen preludes
written in the year 1910, written in a span of barely nineteen days. He managed to
write three of them in a single day. Written in the height of his career, the prelude
reflects spring and has arppeggiated quintuplets in the left hand. Opening in G major,
the prelude moves to G minor to provide a sense of contrast unlike his other works
where he provides a sustainable middle section. During the recapitulation, the melody
ascends higher than before but returns to G major, allowing for a very gradual,
Queer Studies Montegary
I.Introduction
While my choosing Prof. Montegary s Introduction to Queer Studies fulfills the
course s requirement to be present in a higher numbered class than the previous
observation, it also offered me the opportunity to study a professor I had previously
spoken to on numerous occasions regarding the PhD program, various disciplines
and the overall business of academics . As such, I looked forward to the opportunity
to now observe her pedagogical praxis in practice (per se) and style.
As a class, the Introduction to Queer Studies (WST111) is meant to provide...a basic
overview of queer studies and introduce...major texts, theories, and thinkers within
this interdisciplinary field...focus(ing) specifically on the development of queer
studies within the US academy and on how queer theory has transformed the study of
sexuality within the United States (syllabus). The particular module I would be
observing on Wednesday, March 10th Feminist Theories of Race, Class, and
Sexuality included readings from the Combahee River Collective, Barbara Smith,
CherrГe Moraga and Gloria AnzaldГєa, Barbara Cameron, Merle Woo, and Audre
Lorde. The sheer number of readings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first half of the class was spent discussing the social context in which the readings
emerged from. Prof. Montegary teaches with (as opposed to from) a combination of
notes and Powerpoint. She framed the reading in broader contexts, making
connections between the theories, their feminist authors and social conditions at the
time. Each essay is introduced through a representative quote, some biographical
notes about its author(s) , followed up by questions meant to generate further
discussion. There seems to be a standard group of about five to eight students who
readily answer questions, and while she will pick them, Prof. Montegary also chooses
students at random (joking to one reluctant student, Yep, you

Ancient Egyptian Culture
Religion, architecture, and inventions of three cultures Our world today was not only
influenced, but sculpted by the civilizations that came before. Revolutionary ideas are
what define human history. When ideas are suppressed by what is thought to be true
at the time, the advancement and enrichment of human civilization is stalled. A
civilization s ability to adapt is the deciding factor as to whether it flourishes or
implodes. From the Stone Age to modern times, time has yielded the rise and fall of
many civilizations, each having their own culture, which developed and changed as
they did.
Religious beliefs often are reflections onto a civilization; the ancient people observed
what was occurring around them and recorded an explanation ... Show more content

Many religions believed in an after life, most had rewards for the people whose life
was deemed to be holy, by a divine power. This concept shows in Egyptian religion,
the Hall of Ma at was the place of judgment for the dead. In the presence of 45
judges, the dead would recite their forty two negative confessions stating why they
were pure of heart, however the ultimate deciding factor as to how the dead s
eternity would be spent would be the weight of their heart. To the ancient
Egyptians, the heart was what housed the soul, and the soul s purity could and
would be decided by the weight of the heart. Osiris would take the heart of the
deceased and place it upon a golden scale, against the white feather of Ma at. The
time in which the dead s heart was balancing out on the scale would have been a very
nervous moment for the Egyptian, they would have been begging for their heart to be
lighter than the feather. In the worst case scenario, the heart would weigh down on
the feather and be deemed too heavy and impure. At that moment the heart would be
consumed by Ammut, leaving the person to non existence. However if the heart was
lighter than the feather, the deceased would be admitted into the field of reeds, which
was the equivalent of heaven in Christian
Fonderia Di Torino S.P.a Essay
Fonderia di Torino, S.p.A
Midterm Individual Case
Fonderia di Torino, S.p.A is a manufacturing company who produces metal castings
using six semi automated molding machines. However, they are currently considering
purchasing a Vulcan Mold Maker machine to replace the six machines currently in
place. The firm needs to consider all costs in deciding whether to keep the current
machines or purchase the Vulcan Mold Maker.
Buying the Vulcan machine will result in year 0 outflows of 1.01 million euros, but
will enable the company to sell the old machines which will result in a net year 0
outflow of 880,000 euros. The cash flows of years 1 8 are summarized in table 1.

On the other hand, the need for higher capacity may in fact be needed if the effects of
an improved product contribute to more market share.
There is a projected inflation rate of 3%. Applying this rate to all costs, minus
depreciation, we find that the effect is a lower NPV and raise the EAC for both
decisions. However, purchasing the Vulcan machine still remains to have the lower
EAC. Thus, all other things equal, the purchasing the Vulcan seems to
quantitatively be the better decision. There are also a few other small impacts
which are not factored into the EAC. The Vulcan frees up 15% of floor space and
also has a maximum capacity that is 30% higher than the current machines. In the
near future this may be irrelevant because there is no need for more floor space and
the current machines are only operating at 90% capacity as it is, but these should
still be considered added benefits as unforeseeable market conditions over the next
eight years may warrant the need for added capacity.
After considering both qualitative and quantitative impacts of the decision, it would
be my recommendation to purchase the Vulcan machine. All of the data shows that
the Vulcan machine will be less costly and more efficient. What the data does not
show however is the critical assumption that the laborers will be able to be laid off
without dispute. If there is conflict from the labor
Literature On Foreign Direct Investment
The literature on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has documented various spillover
effects on host countries. Following the same line of literature, this chapter takes the
analysis further analysing spatial spillover in Indian manufacturing firms for the
period 2001 2015. The analysis is based on two different types of weight matrices,
one which is geographical based on firm s location district and the other is based on
economic distance created by industrytype of the firms. The results from Spatial
Autoregressive Model and Spatial Durbin Model suggest the existence of positive
main effects of foreign direct investmentand on the job training but negative

Horizontal spillovers are measured by the share of foreign firms in output, sales and
employment. Backward and forward spillovers are created by multiplying horizontal
spillovers with the coefficients from input output tables.
Aitken and Harrison (1999) test technological spillovers from foreign to domestic
firms for Venezuelan firms and find positive productivity effect of foreign firms on
joint venture firms. Blalocl and Gertler (2008) discuss technology diffusion and
competition induced by multinational enterprises on domestic firms s productivity for
Indonesia manufacturing sector. They find evidence of pareto improving output and
profit benefits in downstream sector. Branstetter (2006) finds the positive knowledge

measure productivity sillovers in Indian manufacturing sector. Kathuria (2002) tests
for the changes in domestic productivity in the post liberalization era via spillovers.
Using industry level panel data, he finds the positive productivity benefits for the
firms belonging to scientific category and the firms which invested in research and
development. Pant and Mondal (2010) find that foreign firms create technology
transfers to domestic firms conditional on absorptive capacity and degree of
competition in the
Difference Between Musical Theatre And Film Musicals
A musical film is a genre of movie where songs sung by characters are added into the
storyline, occasionally complemented by choreography. The musical numbers in
these films do not always develop the plot and characters, but they do give the films a
more exciting quality. The primary difference between musical theatre and film
musicals is the use of extravagant scenery that would be extraordinarily unreasonable
for a stage performance. While making movies, the individuals involved have the
luxury of being able to shoot multiple takes and have the time to move backgrounds
around or change their entire location. Stage performances, on the other hand, must
have scenery that can be easily and efficiently moved on and offstage when it is
needed. In order to be able to thoroughly comprehend this relatively recent in the
grand scheme of things form of entertainment, one should understand the history
behind these musical films, be aware of some of the big names that are well known,
and recognize major titles that revolutionized musical film forever (Scaruffi, P., 2005).
Before being able to completely appreciate musical films, one must be aware of their
remarkable history and how they came into existence. According to an article written
by Cara Schreffler:
Since the days of the ancient Greeks, music has been an integral part of drama and
theatre. Many composers wrote music to accompany plays, and sometimes the music
became more well known than the play it was written for ... It

American Myths and Mysteries Essay
Throughout the many decades that America has been in existence there have been
many interesting mysteries that have not been solved and myths passed down from
generation to generation. No one knows what caused these myths to come about or
why these mysteries were never solved, but they are a very interesting part of
American history. From mysteries involving serial killers to myths about mysterious
creatures, there is a wide range of the unknown that many people, except for
witnesses, have never heard about. Now let s take a look into some of the most
fantastic myths and mysteries in America. The mystery of the Zodiac Killerwas never
solved; it was one of the greatest serial killer mysteries of all time. He was called the

The legend of the Bermuda Triangle probably started some time around 1945, when a
squadron of five Navy Avenger airplanes disappeared on a training flight out of Fort
Lauderdale, Florida. There are many theories to why these planes and boats have
gone missing, but the true mystery might never be solved. Theories include
enormous rogue waves, methane gas explosions, human disorientation and human
error, crazy weather patterns causes intense storms, magnetic fields that causes
compasses to be thrown off, the original UFO and Aliens, fog, and pirates. The best
known document in America, the Declaration of Independence, contains a very large
myth that has finally been proven wrong. John Hancock, president of that Continental
Congress, signed his name largely and boldly at the center of the place in the
document for signatures to demonstrate his defiance of the British Crown and to
encourage others to sign the document as well. After people spent years with new
technology and research examining other documents, they were able to conclude that
the myth was wrong. It ended up that his signature was very large in the first place,
that is just how he signed his name.
John Wilkes Booth will forever go down in history as the man who killed our most

Industrialization In New York City
One major problem found with industrialization is the development of political
machines. A political machine is a group that controls politics for financial gain.
One major political machine was located in New York City in the Tammany Hall
building led by Boss Tweed. William L. Riordan wrote about George Washington
Plunkitt who worked under Boss Tweed. He would use insider knowledge to make
a profit. Plunkitt would find out the city was going to build a jail, so he would buy
the land for the jail at a low rate then sell it to the city at a high rate. This would
create a profit to give back to Boss Tweed. Plunkitt would also help families that had
their houses burnt down to get them to agree to anything he said. This allows for the

Life Is The Meaning Of Life
After all years that we will experience, we will say Oh my life, such a life. To our
grandchildren, friends, daughters or sons. Or we will look our photo album with
our husbands and we will say Oh such a life, how it passed such fast. According to
dictionary, the life is the quality; which people, animals, and plants have when they
are not dead and which objects and substances do not have, with its basic meaning.
Actually, the life isn t being dead. Isn t the life means memories in all those
sentences that I wrote above. Life means all things that you have done, seen,
written, or read; all places that you have gone, visited; all people that you have
known and loved; all things that you can remember after years. I mean all photos
belong to your life since you have the chance to go back to those days in your mind,
when you look at the photos.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Maybe you did your shopping from Tesco, maybe you ate your all meal from Mc

the sentences that you will say after you will have experienced all those things. You
will say, I love Paris. but why? Why do you love Paris? The answer is: You love
Paris because you went there with your love, you visited all tourist spots with him,
you took photos and stuck them onto your wall when you were young. You don t
love the Paris place on the map. You love the memories. So we love people, places
and items due to memories but sometimes we can hate, irritate or dislike. Reverse
the sentence to I hate Paris. Again you don t hate Paris place in the map, you hate
memories which ones you experienced in Paris. Maybe your love betrayed you in
there or maybe an accident took him from you in
John Donne Allusions
In the poem, Hymn to God My God in My Sickness, John Donne employs the use
of biblical allusions and metaphors to express that suffering in life is trivial to the
splendors that will be awarded in heaven. To begin, the speaker lets on that he
knows that he is dying; in a situation where others might struggle with the
realization, the speaker positively employs, I shall be made thy music; as I come/I
tune the instrument here at the door. As the speaker compares his amending to
refining an instrument, visibly any worries possibly holding the speaker back from
eternal peace are being taken care of before his death, leaving him appeased and
ready to move on. Furthermore, just as west and east are inevitably connected in flat
maps, which the
Dark Fantasy Essay
Dark Fantasy is a hip hop song with classic verses and a captivating, expressive
chorus similar to Nas flow. But a more profound analysis illustrates that the song is a
metaphor describing that Kanye West is feeling like he is on top of the world, as a
valued idol at the peak of his music career. However, the larger themes within the
song that flows throughout the album implies the experiencing of dark fantasies,
pursuing the American dream, evolving into the monster one would never thought he
would evolve into, the flashing lights that blind rather than brighten, falling in love
and then undervaluing the relationship, sensual exploits as a heartbreaking
alternative for loss of love, being lost in the labyrinth of the American lifestyle;...

Followed by the intro is an abrupt disbelief, since most of Kanye s listeners do not
anticipate hearing this surprise on a hip hop compilation. The surprise is the vocal
harmonies. After the accords of Can we get much higher , the rhythm aggressively
bangs into motion and Dark Fantasy opens. I fantasized about this back in Chicago
/ Mercy, mercy, that Murcielago, West raps, apparently astonished that he
accomplished all he ever desired. For the rest of Dark Fantasy, Kanye is liberally
combining the luxuries ( Mercy, mercy me, that Murcielago ) and the existential (
Hey teacher, teacher/Tell me how do you respond to the students?/And refresh the
page and restart the memory?/And re spark the soul and rebuild the energy? ).
Kanye West identifies himself as a leader, but contemplates on how to develop the
world into a better one, specifically for the Black Community. Much of Kanye s
expressive music has embodied the destruction of boundaries that enforce racial
Should A Pregnant Brain Dead Be Kept On Life
Being brain dead means that the brain no longer functions. People that are brain
dead can still have a heartbeat and they can still breathe they just do so through a
life sustaining machine. Brain dead people will die without these machines, they
never get better. Life support is what helps keep your body alive when some
functions that your body can t live without start to fail. Life support helps to keep
the body functioning until it can function again on it s own, but sometimes the body
s functions cannot be fixed. The question is should a pregnant brain dead woman be

Why French Came To America
The French culture is known for living luxuriously and its beautiful language. Why
did the French come to America if they had such a wonderful life in France? The
answer may surprise you. The French came in waves to North America, all for
separate reasons based on their timing. These include: escaping religious persecution,
trade, and exploration of the New World. The seventeenth century was the beginning
of the French migration. The first Frenchmen to come to America was a group of
Protestants, trying to escape religious persecution. Because of their beliefs, [t]he
Catholic royal family felt threatened... [T]he French government issued a general

Samuel de Champlain is one of the most notable French immigrants in the French
Canadian culture. Those who are a part of the French Canadian culture are citizens
of Canada who are direct descendants of the first few French immigrants ( French

along the inland rivers as well as being the first European to see the Great Lakes (

present day Canada. He explored, mapped, and tracked things and places that were
completely new and foreign to not just the French, but the entire European continent.
More and more French explorers and missionaries entered North America after
Champlain s discoveries. Explorers eventually became tradesmen, trading furs and

The Fuel Of The Diesel Engine
The diesel engine has been the number one choice for power, reliable and high fuel
economy worldwide (Jääskeläinen, 2013). However, as petroleum becomes more
and more expensive, the new challenge that has been presented to todays society has
been to find a sustainable way to continue running these engines without relying on
diminishing petrol supplies (Connolly, 2013). The world has turned to biofuels; the
use of biodieselcan produce power, performance and economy, along with assisting
in the reduction of emissions and Greenhouse gases. However, its widespread use
has been halted due to the ethical issues surrounding its production. The use of
agricultural land for the use of bio fuels, detriments the mass food crisis and
insecurity that the world faces. Is it really ethical to be using bio fuels to cut carbon
emissions, which in turn could lead to millions of people in Asia starving to death?
The inventor of the diesel engine, Dr. Rudolf Diesel, first conceptualised Biodiesel
fuel in 1895. He generated and demonstrated a diesel engine that used peanut oil as
its main fuel source in 1900 at the Paris World Exhibition, as he viewed using
vegetable oil fuel as a means to provide economic growth in remote areas of the
world due to widely available agricultural crops as the source of the fuel (Diesel
Service and Supply, 2013). In Australia, the use of bio diesel in the transport industry
has been under much debate. Bio diesel is produced through a process knows as
Raised Minimum Wage
In a 2015 survey conducted by The New York Times and CBS News, 71% of
people surveyed believed the minimum wage should be raised to $10.10 (Should
The Federal). The minimum wage has been increased by congress 22 times since
1938 and was last updated to $7.25 on July 24, 2009 (Minimum Wage). 3.3% of
workers in the United Statesget paid the minimum wageor lower (Background of). A
federal minimum wage hike would lower povertylevels, decrease spending on
government assistance, and increase productivity in jobs. If the government raised
the minimum wage, then the amount of people in poverty would decline. The
poverty line in 2015 was $12,331 a year, only 20 percent below a full time
minimum wage worker s annual salary of $15,080 (Should the Federal). As a
result, minimum wage citizens can barely meet their living needs. A study
completed by the National Low Income Housing Coalition in 2015 said that a
worker must earn $15.50 an hour to be able to rent a one bedroom apartment. If
someone needed a two bedroom apartment they would need to earn $19.35 an hour
(Should the Federal). More people would be able to find adequate housing or their
family if minimum wage were to increase. As a result. Less people would be living
on the streets. If the minimum wage was raised to $9 an hour, over 300,000 people
would be lifted out of poverty. Even better, raising minimum wage to $10.10 an
hour would result in over 900,000 people out of poverty (Should the Federal).
Consequently, more people would be living comfortably if the minimum wage were
to be raised. Poverty levels... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Lenape Indians are the natives of New Jersey and were around well before
any of the explorers or our ancestors came to the area. They had a society rich of
culture, traditions, beliefs and customs. They are one of the largest Indian tribes on
the east coast, containing three primary divisions or clans. Frederick Hodge (1907)
worked for the Bureau of American Ethnology and has done extensive research on
the topic of Native Americans. Hodge compiled a detailed reference book called The
Handbook of American Indians North of Mexico, which gives detailed histories on
many of the American Indian tribes. According to Hodge, the Lenapeor Delaware
Indians were an Indian society based from the Delaware area all the way to southern

The Munsee clan or Wolf tribe are one of the three clans of the Lenape Indian tribe.
They are often called the people of stony country because of their geographical
region. Their language is very different in dialect compared to the other clans of the
Lenape, which is why they are often regarded as their own tribe at times. The
Munsee are the farthest north on the Delaware river. They occupied the headwater
region of the Delaware river which represents northern New Jersey, Central New
York and Eastern Pennsylvania. Minisink is the main council village for the
Munsee and is the barrier between the Munsee and the Unalachtigo. Minisink is
located in the Minisink Valley which is on the Delaware river in northern New
Jersey (which is now Sussex county) Eastern Pennsylvania, and southern New York.

called the turkey tribe of the Lenape Indians. They were based in central New Jersey
and eastern Pennsylvania. The tribe is closely related to the Unalachtigo tribe in
dialect and traditions. By the early seventeen hundreds, the Unalachtigo tribe was
completely dissolved into the Unami tribe. (Weslager 1987) The last clan of the
Lenape Indians is called the Unalachtigo clan or the turkey tribe. Unalachtigo roughly

Critique of a Website Essay
Critique of a Website
Web sites are just like magazines, newspapers, brochures, menus, or even
directions on how to make nitroglycerin from house hold goods, in that they all
have to be put together in such a manner that whoever is reading or browsing over
it will be able to clearly distinguish this from that. In this sense, a critique of any
particular web site will have justification, while carefully considering also that this
is an altogether new medium of information exchange. Now, all of this talk of
togetherness is actually a general reference to basic design principles, such as color

I m not saying make up is evil, but we all know what s in somewhat good taste, and

hiding under that crusty exterior; most of the time there is. A balance needs to be
achieved or at least strived for when designing a web page or any page for that matter.
I m not trying to rag on Raygun or anything, because I like A LOT of the stuff that
they do, but one must not get carried away with it and ignore what one is supposed

on them, but you know what I mean. So in our quest to discover the ideal web
page we must look at the following things: 1) Does it make sense? Is its layout so
erratic in such a way as to render the viewer blind because of the designers lack of
vision and utter stupidity? 2) Organization. How and why were things placed in the
places they were placed, needs to be known, or at least made seemingly apparant. 3)

The Importance Of Male Oppression Of Women
For much of history man has been considered the only sex and women, the Other and
as a result men views and opinions have created myths of what women in society are
expected to conform to and exhibit. Throughout time men have developed and
perpetuated the expectation that a woman exists to fulfill male s sexual needs. Manis
the superior being and his ideal women is one that will unquestionably submit to his
domination (201). Moreso, men s domination over women places women into state of
dependence. Women are largely reliant on men for economic necessities and security.
However, women s reliance on men leaves the vulnerable to males oppression on
them. Male oppression places significant burden on women yet, male does not need
to take responsibility or place any concern to the fact of how oppressive their
superiority is on women because it is intended by nature and thus nature endows men
with the right to oppress. Furthermore, women are oppressed because to men, they
are a possession that men behold, objects used within their lives to fulfill their
domestic needs within the home, their sexual needs both for pleasure and to
procreate, and to nature the future generation of men and women where masculine
dominance and feminine subjectivity will continue to persist. As Simone de Beauvoir
writes woman is her husband s prey, his property (171). Males continual superiority
in society has served to inflate man s ego to a immense degree where he believes
that his place on earth

Shaken Baby Syndrome
Imagine yourself as a sweet, innocent, precious little baby. You are totally dependant
upon adults to give you what you need and most importantly love. Your only means
of communication is crying so you cry when you need to be fed, when you need
your diaper changed, when you aren t feeling so well, or when you just want some
attention. You are crying and someone comes over to you. They pick you up, but
instead of holding you and comforting you, talking affectionately to you, they shake

(The Epilepsy of Central Florida) The degree of brain damage depends on the amount
and duration of the shaking and the force involved in impact of the head.
Shaken Baby Syndrome is difficult to diagnose, unless someone accurately
describes what happens. Physicians often report that a child with possible Shaken
Baby Syndrome is brought for medical attention due to falls, difficulty breathing,
seizures, vomiting, altered consciousness or choking (Palmer). The caregiver may
report that the child was shaken to try to resuscitate it. Physician look for retinal
hemorrhages, (Retinal hemorrhages is bleeding in the retina of the eye), Subdural
hematoma (blood in the brain), increased head size indicating excessive
accumulations of fluid in the tissues of the brain (Palmer). Doctors and physicians
also look for damage to the spinal cord, and broken ribs. This occurs because of the
way the baby was held or grasped to hard. Doctors usually get Computed
Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans because they assist
in showing injuries in the brain.
Fifty Thousand cases occur each year in the U.S. (Ramirez, 1996). One shaken

The Purpose Of The Spanish Armada
On August 1588, an enormous Spanish fleet of 130 ships sailed from A CoruГ±a
under the command of the Duke of Medina Sidonia with the sole purpose of
invading England. If the invasion succeeded, it would change the world and
Christianity; there would not be an England, as we know it, in its place a Spanish
colony; Catholicism would prevail as the superior form of Christianity over
Protestantism. There would be no British Empire, but, in its stead, the Spanish
Empire. The USA would be heavily influenced by the Spanish. The world s most
spoken language would be Spanish. But after all, what were the motives of the
Spaniards for launching such a vast invasion on Britain; what was worth all the effort
and work? In this essay, the reasons for the launching of the Spanish Armadawill be
covered.
The motives of the Spanish were plenty. The Spanish desired England to be part of

The Boy And The Loon Analysis

First Nations people who live along the coast of British Columbia. This tale exhibits
many characteristics that are present in most First Nations stories. The Boy and the
Loon begins in the past, stating Many generations ago, there lived a handsome
young boy (Lelooska 14). By starting with this phrase, the storyteller is showcasing
a historical tale that teaches people how to behave. Many First Nations stories begin
in the past to showcases its importance. Furthermore, the idea behind continuing to
tell these stories, even though they are from long ago is to keep social order intact

lessons to be taught and learned by different people, overall maintaining the same
ways of life and personal morals for many generations. . Another trait that this story

Enzymes in Pineapple
Background:
Enzymes are very efficient catalysts for biochemical reactions. They speed up
reactions by providing an alternative reaction pathway of lower activation energy.
Like all catalysts, enzymes take part in the reaction that is how they provide an
alternative reaction pathway. But they do not undergo permanent changes and so
remain unchanged at the end of the reaction. They can only alter the rate of reaction,
not the position of the equilibrium. Enzymes are usually highly selective, catalyzing
specific reactions only. This specificity is due to the shapes of the enzyme molecules.

Collagen
About one quarter of all the protein in your body is collagen. It is a major structural
material that forms molecular cables to strengthen the tendons and resilient sheets
that support the skin and internal organs. Bones and teeth are made by adding
mineral crystals to collagen. Collagen provides structure to our bodies, protecting and
supporting the softer tissues and connecting them with the skeleton. But, in spite of
its critical function in the body, collagen is a relatively simple protein.
Collagen from livestock animals is a familiar ingredient in cooking. Collagen is a
protein, and like most proteins, when heated, it loses all of its structure. The polymer
molecule unwinds. Then, when the denatured mass cools down, it soaks up all of the
surrounding water like a sponge, forming gelatin.

Different Views of Discipline
Hitting, yelling, and spanking. Some people view these terms as examples of
abuse. Others view them as different types of discipline that parents could use on
their young children. For as long as I can remember, there has been great
controversy regarding the difference between what is the correct type of discipline
and what is not. Doing research, such as what I did prior to writing this paper, can
help any parentdecide what typeof discipline will be most beneficial and least harmful
to the child. The main topic of this research paper was to find alternative discipline
methods other than spanking and yelling at the child. It seems like spanking and
yelling work if someone were to ask a parent that enforces that type of discipline,
but the reason why it works is because the child actually starts to fear his or her
parent. This could lead to a broken family or even cause the child to act out even
more as they grow older. The potentially poor outcomes are quite unknown, but
they could be prevented with safer and more favorable types of discipline. Taking
away privileges could be one of the most beneficial ways to discipline a child.
Whether it is taking away TV, toys, video games, or even friends for a day, the
child will realize that the bad behavior is not tolerated and should not be repeated
(Morin, 2014). Many children have different tastes and a parent will know what they
enjoy the most and will be able to make the most out of this discipline type by

Young People Join Gangs For Social And Economic Reasons
Essay
According to the authors of Gangs, Graffiti, and Violence, they state that young
people join street gangs for social and economic reasons (Leet, 2000). However, one
of the main factors young people join gangs is due to the lack of stability of being
raised in an unstable family environment. For instance, gangmembers raised in a
single parent home by their mother, usually in her early thirties, caring for three or
four children at a time, on her own without the presence of a male father figure. As
a result of being a single parent, the mother is forced to work long hours and at
times more than one job just to make ends meet, which results in the children being
left unattended without any adult supervision or the older sibling left babysitting
his or her younger siblings. In addition to the lack of supervision the moment the
child gets into trouble with law enforcement officers, the mother comes to her child
s rescue excusing his actions and behavior. This type of behavior and attitude from
the mother encourages the problematic youth to persist in his reckless behavior
because she refuses to punish him in his wrongdoings. Therefore, the child grows
up playing the victim, blaming society for his downfalls and shortcomings instead
of taking responsibility for his or her own actions (Leet, 2000, pp. 10). As stated in
Changing Course: Keeping Kids out of Gangs, affirms that in 2010 45% of high
school students and 35% of middle schoolers were either in gangs or reflected on

the creation of modern democracy, including the government of America. The
Greeks made several inventions, most notably in the subject of math, which are

Shamanism Research Paper
Shamanism
To truly understand the meaning of shamanism one must uncover the original
definition. The word shaman comes from the language of the Evenk, a small Tungus
speaking group of hunters and reindeer herders from Siberia. It was first used only
to designate a religious specialist from this region. By the beginning of the 20th
century it was already being applied to a variety of North America and South
American practices from the present and the past. Today people have gone as far as
defining the word shaman as any human that acknowledges that he/she has had

The fact is that well philosophers can speculate, even by the vaguest definition of
shamanism they can not prove that these individuals were taking part in these trance
like states without written or physical proof.
Due to the theory of shamanism being introduced into the Mesoamerican culture
because of the writings of Eliade and Furst, it seems only fair to look carefully at the
relevance to their interpretations. Eliade had originally acknowledged the oddity
concerning the concept of shamanism and, in turn, took it into his own hands to
create a version this concept himself. (Klein, pg. 388) I can not reasonable enter into
the idea of this model that he has created. He clearly explains the existence of
shamanism in Siberia and inner Asia, in which there has been, documented proof.
The idea that because this is happening there does not prove that it was happening
over 2000 years ago across the world. He fails to connect the two areas, in time and
place, feasible. It is extremely interesting that only Eliade s point of view is found in
the Encyclopedia of Religion. (Eliade 201 208)
Despite Furst s attempt to redefine shamanism in terms of specific American
religious beliefs and practices, the new criteria he provided have proved to be as
unreliable as Eliade s. It repeatedly insists that the concepts of the universe divided
horizontally into an upper world, a terrestrial middle world, and an underworld in the

Essay On Asian American Stereotypes
Asian Stereotypes are everywhere in our society. Racial stereotypes often arise
from fear of the unknown. In the history of the different forms stereotypes often
result from prejudice. It helps to explain why people tend to think that Asians do not

likely to be arrested or shot by the police. Specific racial stereotypes tend to have
cultural background, while other racial stereotypes are simply due to the
oversimplification of complex information.
Stereotypes of Asians in particular have been around for a long of time. In the late
19th century, many Asians went to the United Statesto pursue their dream because
they want to improve their family quality of life. And they work so hard to make

Industrialization in India
Need for Trend of Industrialization in India
What is Industry?
In its broadest sense, industry is any work that is undertaken for economic gain and
that promotes employment. The word may be applied to a wide range of activities,
from farming to manufacturing and tourism. It encompasses production at any scale,
from the local sometimes known as cottage industry to the multinational or
transnational.
In a more restricted sense, industry refers to the production of goods, especially when
that production is accomplished with machines. It is this limited definition of
industry that is embodied by the notion of industrialization: the transition to an
economy based on the large scale, machine assisted production of goods by a

Ironically, de industrialization in the three countries mentioned above has been
accompanied by a growth in the high tech industries in areas such as the CГґte d
Azur in France; Silicon Valley in California; and along the M4 motorway, around
Cambridge, and in central Scotland the so called Silicon Glen in the UK. The long
term impact of de industrialization has yet to be felt. It may be the speed of the
process, rather than the process itself, that needs careful management.
Transnational Corporations
Probably the most significant industrial development since the 1960s has been the
rise of the multinational or transnational company. Examples of these companies,
which operate in many countries, are Ford, General Motors, IBM, Siemens, and
Matsushita Electrical. United Nations (UN) estimates that investment by
transnational companies has risen by 13 per cent per year over the last 20 years,
largely because more and more governments are accepting these firms into their
countries.
Nevertheless, the growth of multinational corporations has raised a number of
concerns. An enormous amount of production power is concentrated in the hands of
a few controllers, which means that the countries involved become directly
susceptible to economic changes in other parts of the world. The transfer of assets
from one country to another may be difficult for governments to manage or prevent,

In Into the New World , one group of humans developed psychokinesis. This caused a
power imbalance that led psychokinetic humans to enslave powerless humans.
Sometime between then and the story s present, powerless humans were genetically
modified with naked mole rat DNA. They became Queerats or Monster Rats and
were forced to serve psychokinetic humans. One Queerat discovers the truth of their
history and stages a rebellion to take revenge.

after she began living with me and my father. We have conflicting views on many
things.
b. I sometimes find myself insulting others in my head or dismissing their
arguments out of pride or for petty reasons. This is a habit I am trying to break. I
know it is unfair and wrong most of the time, so I try to rectify it by thinking from
the other person s perspective.
c. My father and I have very different political views. This often leads to arguments
and frustration, which is difficult when we live in the same house.
d. My conflict with nature is with the sun. I tan very easily, I do not like heat, and I

Osmolarity Lab
Taylor Kapitanek
Biology 200A 005
30 September, 2014 Abstract
This Estimating Osmolarity by Change in Weight of Potato Tuber Tissue experiment
was conducted to determine the molarity of sucrose concentration where the mass of
potato tuber segments does not change, indicating an isosmotic concentration.
Indicating an isosmotic concentration was done by calculating the change of mass of
the potato tuber cells prior to incubation against the mass after incubation in the
sucrose solution. My groups goal was to determine what type of osmotic concentration
was created as compared to the potato tissues. The results of my groups lab indicated
three different osmotic concentrations. At this sucrose concentration the sucrose
solution is isotonic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The percent change in mass of the potato cells is positive when incubated in
concentrations of 0.0, 0.1, and 0.2 M of sucrose. At these three solutions, a
hypertonic environment was observed within the cell. The percent change in mass of
the potato cells begins to decrease and become negative when incubated in
concentrations of 0.3, 0.4, 0.5M, and 0.6M of sucrose. At these four specific
solutions, a hypotonic environment was obtained within the cell. Reflecting on the
data, a line of best fit crosses the x axis where an isotonic relative osmotic
concentration is accomplished. An isotonic solution was achieved when the sucrose
solution is around 0.175 M. Based on the results from the experiment, our alternative
hypothesis was
Relationship Between Age And Confidence
Furthermore, the relationship between age and confidence in God s existence is
positive. This is supported by the Pearson s R value of .107, which is above 0
making it positive, found in Table 2. However, because a value of 1 represents a
perfectly positive linear line, the low R value suggests that our line is nearly
horizontal and will have a small slope. In order to find how confident we are this
relationship exists we can run a t test for R, which is included at the bottom of
Table 1. The test shows there is confidence that the relationship is evident, because
the p value is .01, so the null hypothesis can be rejected, that there is no relationship
between the variables. Rather, there is confidence there is in fact a relationship
between age and one s faith, which supports the hypothesis that the two variables
are connected. Again this only shows the relationship is positive, but not how
great of an affect age has on faith. The relationship that faith increases as age
increase is more evident in a graph. Figure 2 compares age to the average amount
of belief for its respective age group. The data has some variation from what was
expected. For example, the average belief for 18 year olds is somewhere between
Knows God Exists, But Has Doubts, and Knows God Exists, which is higher than
the hypothesis, which predicted they would be much more skeptical. However, this
could be because at this age kids are just now starting to break away from the
influence their parents
John Knowles A Separate Peace
When I grow up, I want to be an astronaut. When I grow up, I m going to be the
strongest person in the world. Each person has a different idea on what they need to
accomplish to be a success. One theme of the novel A Separate Peace is this variance
in what one needs to feel pride in themselves. The author, John Knowles, develops
this theme through his characters and metaphor.
The two main characters, Gene and Phineas, are polar opposites in many ways,
especially in their ambitions. Phineas appears to base his self worth on how others
feel about him. By writing exclusively in Gene s point of view, the reader only sees
Phineas external thoughts and behaviors. Gene speaks of how he is almost
unnaturally able to get anyone, teachers and students, eating out of his hands and
attains happiness by making everyone love him. As Finny s best friend, Gene s
perspective is the most effective way to see how he is viewed by others because we
rarely see ourselves accurately. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fueled by jealousy, he tries to make himself and Phineas equals . In the beginning,
Gene describes Finny with nothing but adoration. However, he does use
foreshadowing to show Gene s underlying jealousy for his best friend from early on.
Phineas tells Gene that he is his best friend, to which, Gene is unable to respond,
stopped by that level of feeling, deeper than thought, that contains the truth. The point
of view and foreshadowing that Knowles uses help to develop this theme that is
prominent to

Norton Simon Museum Research Paper
According to the Getty museum states LagrenГ©e played an important part in the
French movement away from the Rococo style toward a more restrained,
lassicizing expression . Deliberately rejecting the exuberant, artificial aesthetic of
the mid 1700s, he revived instead the previous century s taste for cool colors and
polished, refined technique . The context in which the culture affected Alcibiades
artwork was about race, gender, and class. Another information that I found
interesting is that The male dress is rendered in angular lines that contrast with the
soft curves of the female attire. The men hold weapons as their job is war, while
women s jobs are concerned with children . According to the Khan Academy states
In 1785 visitors to the Paris Salon were transfixed by one painting, Jacques Louis
David s Oath of the Horatii. It depicts three men, brothers, saluting toward three
swords held up by their father as the women behind him grieve no one had ever seen

The Norton Simon Museum is a museum for everyone to visit and enjoy the great
artworks. Besides, it s also a great environment to spent you re day in its cafГ© that
it s by the garden of the museum. The artwork that really grabbed my attention was
the Alcibiades on His Knees Before His Mistress, by Louis Jean Francois Lagrene
from the Norton Simon Museum. I chose this particular artwork because it s
interesting that how the artist depicted the gender role by giving each gender a
unique appearance. Besides, the artist also depicts the formal elements by depicting
the texture of the fabric, and use of smooth and rough lines to create the painting
more attention grabbing. This painting would be a good comparison with Jacques
Louis David, Oat of the Horatii, France, 1784 from the text because the painting s
context, content, and history are similar to each

State 529 saving plan is provided by the state, in which parents can start saving for
their kids. For 529 savings plan to work, parents have to start early by planning
ahead. As per author Nellies, Hung, and clark parents have to save only two thirds of
the funds needed for the future tuition fee of there kids. The gap between the funds in
the saving plans and tuition is usually filled by scholarships, grants, and the interest
made over the savings. Parents have to be careful while estimating
Night Movie And Book Comparison Essay
The Holocaust during World War two is a significant part of history. During the
Holocaust, many Jews and other groups of people were tortured and exterminated.
The book Night by Elie Wiesel and the movie Schindler s List are both placed in a
setting during the Holocaust. The book Night explains the horrors of a young boy s
(Eliezer) experience as a jew during the Holocaust. The film Schindler s List is about
a man who does his best to save Jews from being placed in concentration camps by
hiring them to work for his business. These Jews that Schindler saves become known
as Schindlerjuden. The Schindlerjuden and Eliezer s experiences that are portrayed
throughout the movie and book are similar because they all did their best to do what
they... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A German soldier said to Schindler, This is very cruel Oskar. You re giving them
hope. The German soldier says that because Oskar is treating the Jews better than
the soldiers do, he is giving them false hope. The Schindlerjuden, because of
Schindler, had a chance of being saved from execution by the soldiers. In the film,
Oskar says, You should be preparing for the Sabbath. shouldn t you? I ve got some
wine in my office. Come. When Oskar says this to one of the Jewish people, he
gives them hope of returning their life back to normal. He gives them hope that
one day they could enjoy their life again and not be fearful of being captured by
German soldiers and then executed. This is a major difference from the book
because in the book, Eliezer eventually gives up all his hope and belief in himself
and religion. When Eliezer is explaining what he witnesses in the concentration
camps he says, Never shall I forget these moments which murdered my God and my
soul and turned my dreams to dust. This quote shows that Eliezer has given up
faith in his God to save him and no longer believes that his dreams of a better life
will ever come true. Another example of Eliezer losing faith in his God is when he
says, Blessed be God s name? Why, but why would I bless Him?Every fiber in me
rebelled. Because He caused thousands of children to burn in His

My Teacher Essay For Kids

  • 1. My Teacher Essay For Kids Writing an essay on the topic "My Teacher Essay For Kids" can present both challenges and rewards. On one hand, the subject matter is relatively straightforward, revolving around personal experiences and impressions of a teacher. The main political comment that was constructed throughout Triumph of the Will was that Hitler is a very powerful leader who united Germanyto become a strong nation, which can also be viewed alternatively by a separate audience. The aim of the book was to write a prelude and fugue in all keys which are arranged in in an ascending chromatic scale in pairs of major and minor scales, for example, C major, C minor, C sharp major, C sharp minor etcetera, for those who wished to learn. Only seven of the 96 pieces have an explicit tempo marking, but BWV 861 is not one of them. Though written in a minor, the piece is by no means stately or solemn in tone. However, here too the key changes momentarily in D sharp minor. The final section that closes the piece echoes the first section which then ends in its tonic key. Prelude in G Major, Opus 32, No. 5 Sergei Rachmaninoff (1873 1943) Unlike any of his predecessors like Bach or Scriabin, Rachmaninoff s Preludes have not been arranged in any particular order. This prelude is from a set of thirteen preludes written in the year 1910, written in a span of barely nineteen days. He managed to write three of them in a single day. Written in the height of his career, the prelude reflects spring and has arppeggiated quintuplets in the left hand. Opening in G major, the prelude moves to G minor to provide a sense of contrast unlike his other works where he provides a sustainable middle section. During the recapitulation, the melody ascends higher than before but returns to G major, allowing for a very gradual,

Revolutionary ideas are what define human history. When ideas are suppressed by what is thought to be true at the time, the advancement and enrichment of human civilization is stalled. A civilization s ability to adapt is the deciding factor as to whether it flourishes or implodes. Many religions believed in an after life, most had rewards for the people whose life was deemed to be holy, by a divine power. This concept shows in Egyptian religion, the Hall of Ma at was the place of judgment for the dead. In the presence of 45 judges, the dead would recite their forty two negative confessions stating why they were pure of heart, however the ultimate deciding factor as to how the dead s eternity would be spent would be the weight of their heart. To the ancient Egyptians, the heart was what housed the soul, and the soul s purity could and would be decided by the weight of the heart. Osiris would take the heart of the deceased and place it upon a golden scale, against the white feather of Ma at. The time in which the dead s heart was balancing out on the scale would have been a very nervous moment for the Egyptian, they would have been begging for their heart to be lighter than the feather. In the worst case scenario, the heart would weigh down on the feather and be deemed too heavy and impure. At that moment the heart would be consumed by Ammut, leaving the person to non existence. However if the heart was lighter than the feather, the deceased would be admitted into the field of reeds, which was the equivalent of heaven in Christian

On the other hand, the need for higher capacity may in fact be needed if the effects of an improved product contribute to more market share. There is a projected inflation rate of 3%. Applying this rate to all costs, minus depreciation, we find that the effect is a lower NPV and raise the EAC for both decisions. However, purchasing the Vulcan machine still remains to have the lower EAC. Thus, all other things equal, the purchasing the Vulcan seems to quantitatively be the better decision. There are also a few other small impacts which are not factored into the EAC. The Vulcan frees up 15% of floor space and also has a maximum capacity that is 30% higher than the current machines. In the near future this may be irrelevant because there is no need for more floor space and the current machines are only operating at 90% capacity as it is, but these should still be considered added benefits as unforeseeable market conditions over the next eight years may warrant the need for added capacity. After considering both qualitative and quantitative impacts of the decision, it would be my recommendation to purchase the Vulcan machine. All of the data shows that the Vulcan machine will be less costly and more efficient. What the data does not show however is the critical assumption that the laborers will be able to be laid off without dispute. If there is conflict from the labor

  • 10. Difference Between Musical Theatre And Film Musicals A musical film is a genre of movie where songs sung by characters are added into the storyline, occasionally complemented by choreography. The musical numbers in these films do not always develop the plot and characters, but they do give the films a more exciting quality. The primary difference between musical theatre and film musicals is the use of extravagant scenery that would be extraordinarily unreasonable for a stage performance. While making movies, the individuals involved have the luxury of being able to shoot multiple takes and have the time to move backgrounds around or change their entire location. Stage performances, on the other hand, must have scenery that can be easily and efficiently moved on and offstage when it is needed. In order to be able to thoroughly comprehend this relatively recent in the grand scheme of things form of entertainment, one should understand the history behind these musical films, be aware of some of the big names that are well known, and recognize major titles that revolutionized musical film forever (Scaruffi, P., 2005). Before being able to completely appreciate musical films, one must be aware of their remarkable history and how they came into existence. According to an article written by Cara Schreffler: Since the days of the ancient Greeks, music has been an integral part of drama and theatre. Many composers wrote music to accompany plays, and sometimes the music became more well known than the play it was written for ... It

In this sense, a critique of any particular web site will have justification, while carefully considering also that this is an altogether new medium of information exchange. How and why were things placed in the places they were placed, needs to be known, or at least made seemingly apparant. 3) Since this is a web site we are critiquing, and like a Choose Your Own Adventure Book one can skip to another section with almost no fear of being inquisitioned, does its links lead to somewhere meaningful? Others view them as different types of discipline that parents could use on their young children. For as long as I can remember, there has been great controversy regarding the difference between what is the correct type of discipline and what is not. Doing research, such as what I did prior to writing this paper, can help any parentdecide what typeof discipline will be most beneficial and least harmful to the child. The main topic of this research paper was to find alternative discipline methods other than spanking and yelling at the child. It seems like spanking and yelling work if someone were to ask a parent that enforces that type of discipline, but the reason why it works is because the child actually starts to fear his or her parent. This could lead to a broken family or even cause the child to act out even more as they grow older. The potentially poor outcomes are quite unknown, but they could be prevented with safer and more favorable types of discipline. Young People Join Gangs For Social And Economic Reasons Essay According to the authors of Gangs, Graffiti, and Violence, they state that young people join street gangs for social and economic reasons (Leet, 2000). However, one of the main factors young people join gangs is due to the lack of stability of being raised in an unstable family environment. For instance, gangmembers raised in a single parent home by their mother, usually in her early thirties, caring for three or four children at a time, on her own without the presence of a male father figure. As a result of being a single parent, the mother is forced to work long hours and at times more than one job just to make ends meet, which results in the children being left unattended without any adult supervision or the older sibling left babysitting his or her younger siblings. In addition to the lack of supervision the moment the child gets into trouble with law enforcement officers, the mother comes to her child s rescue excusing his actions and behavior. This type of behavior and attitude from the mother encourages the problematic youth to persist in his reckless behavior because she refuses to punish him in his wrongdoings. Therefore, the child grows up playing the victim, blaming society for his downfalls and shortcomings instead of taking responsibility for his or her own actions (Leet, 2000, pp. 10). This is supported by the Pearson s R value of .107, which is above 0 making it positive, found in Table 2. However, because a value of 1 represents a perfectly positive linear line, the low R value suggests that our line is nearly horizontal and will have a small slope. In order to find how confident we are this relationship exists we can run a t test for R, which is included at the bottom of Table 1. The test shows there is confidence that the relationship is evident, because the p value is .01, so the null hypothesis can be rejected, that there is no relationship between the variables. Rather, there is confidence there is in fact a relationship between age and one s faith, which supports the hypothesis that the two variables are connected. Again this only shows the relationship is positive, but not how great of an affect age has on faith. The relationship that faith increases as age increase is more evident in a graph. Figure 2 compares age to the average amount of belief for its respective age group. The data has some variation from what was expected. For example, the average belief for 18 year olds is somewhere between Knows God Exists, But Has Doubts, and Knows God Exists, which is higher than the hypothesis, which predicted they would be much more skeptical. However, this could be because at this age kids are just now starting to break away from the influence their parents
  • 44. John Knowles A Separate Peace When I grow up, I want to be an astronaut. When I grow up, I m going to be the strongest person in the world. Each person has a different idea on what they need to accomplish to be a success. One theme of the novel A Separate Peace is this variance in what one needs to feel pride in themselves. The author, John Knowles, develops this theme through his characters and metaphor. The two main characters, Gene and Phineas, are polar opposites in many ways, especially in their ambitions. Phineas appears to base his self worth on how others feel about him. By writing exclusively in Gene s point of view, the reader only sees Phineas external thoughts and behaviors. Gene speaks of how he is almost unnaturally able to get anyone, teachers and students, eating out of his hands and attains happiness by making everyone love him. As Finny s best friend, Gene s perspective is the most effective way to see how he is viewed by others because we rarely see ourselves accurately. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fueled by jealousy, he tries to make himself and Phineas equals . In the beginning, Gene describes Finny with nothing but adoration. However, he does use foreshadowing to show Gene s underlying jealousy for his best friend from early on. Phineas tells Gene that he is his best friend, to which, Gene is unable to respond, stopped by that level of feeling, deeper than thought, that contains the truth. The point of view and foreshadowing that Knowles uses help to develop this theme that is prominent to

  • 46. Norton Simon Museum Research Paper According to the Getty museum states LagrenГ©e played an important part in the French movement away from the Rococo style toward a more restrained, lassicizing expression . Deliberately rejecting the exuberant, artificial aesthetic of the mid 1700s, he revived instead the previous century s taste for cool colors and polished, refined technique . The context in which the culture affected Alcibiades artwork was about race, gender, and class. Another information that I found interesting is that The male dress is rendered in angular lines that contrast with the soft curves of the female attire. The men hold weapons as their job is war, while women s jobs are concerned with children . According to the Khan Academy states In 1785 visitors to the Paris Salon were transfixed by one painting, Jacques Louis David s Oath of the Horatii. It depicts three men, brothers, saluting toward three swords held up by their father as the women behind him grieve no one had ever seen a painting like it .... The artwork that really grabbed my attention was the Alcibiades on His Knees Before His Mistress, by Louis Jean Francois Lagrene from the Norton Simon Museum. I chose this particular artwork because it s interesting that how the artist depicted the gender role by giving each gender a unique appearance. Besides, the artist also depicts the formal elements by depicting the texture of the fabric, and use of smooth and rough lines to create the painting more attention grabbing. This painting would be a good comparison with Jacques Louis David, Oat of the Horatii, France, 1784 from the text because the painting s context, content, and history are similar to each

  • 48. Night Movie And Book Comparison Essay The Holocaust during World War two is a significant part of history. During the Holocaust, many Jews and other groups of people were tortured and exterminated. The book Night by Elie Wiesel and the movie Schindler s List are both placed in a setting during the Holocaust. The book Night explains the horrors of a young boy s (Eliezer) experience as a jew during the Holocaust. The film Schindler s List is about a man who does his best to save Jews from being placed in concentration camps by hiring them to work for his business. These Jews that Schindler saves become known as Schindlerjuden. The Schindlerjuden and Eliezer s experiences that are portrayed throughout the movie and book are similar because they all did their best to do what they... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A German soldier said to Schindler, This is very cruel Oskar. You re giving them hope. The German soldier says that because Oskar is treating the Jews better than the soldiers do, he is giving them false hope. The Schindlerjuden, because of Schindler, had a chance of being saved from execution by the soldiers. In the film, Oskar says, You should be preparing for the Sabbath. shouldn t you? I ve got some wine in my office. Come. When Oskar says this to one of the Jewish people, he gives them hope of returning their life back to normal. He gives them hope that one day they could enjoy their life again and not be fearful of being captured by German soldiers and then executed. This is a major difference from the book because in the book, Eliezer eventually gives up all his hope and belief in himself and religion. When Eliezer is explaining what he witnesses in the concentration camps he says, Never shall I forget these moments which murdered my God and my soul and turned my dreams to dust. This quote shows that Eliezer has given up faith in his God to save him and no longer believes that his dreams of a better life will ever come true. Another example of Eliezer losing faith in his God is when he says, Blessed be God s name? Why, but why would I bless Him?Every fiber in me rebelled. Because He caused thousands of children to burn in His
