My Media AS coursework pitch

1. My Pitch
Paige Holdsworth

2. My Idea
To do a rom com with a slight thriller
twist, I also think we should do a
similar opening to Billy Eliott where its
mainly music being played with small
amount dialogue in places.

3. Characters
Girl: Stereotypical girly girl, pretty dress, neat
hair with a headband, “cute” makeup.
Boy: Neat hair, quiff style, shirt and jeans.

4. Shot 1
For the establishing shot I ideally want it to
be an aerial shot like this, and then for it to
cut in to shot 2.

5. Shot 2/3
For shot two I want it to be pretty much like
this photo and then for shot three for it to
be an extreme close up his watch with a
voice over of him saying something like
“ugh an hour late… again”

6. Shot 4
Then for it to cut to this extreme long shot
with the woman running out of the doors in
a rush. This is where the music would begin,
something along the lines of Neon Trees –
Everybody Talks.

7. Shot 5
Then thinking about the opening of Hot
Fuzz where it zooms in on him while he’s
walking, id want to do the same but with her
running across this bridge.

8. Shot 6/7/8
Then a series of shots following her
running, different shots, e.g of just her feet
and then the back of her, switching to a
front view etc. hand held and tri pod.

9. Shot 9
Then to this extreme long shot where we see
him on the blanket in the top of the shot
and her running up the hill to him.

10. Shot 10
Series of two shots to show a relationship

11. Shot 15
Like in The Crying Game where we see the
man watching the two I want the same sort
of idea but we only see the back of him.
This is where id want the music to stop to
emphasise the antagonist.

12. Titles
Id want the titles to be like the ones in
Bridget Jones’s Diary
