Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

6.
Google in numbers

7. S.W.O.T. Analysis of Google
STRENGTH
The simple look and feel of Google search engine which every single user can
access and gain useful information is the major strength of Google. The speed of
the search engine is amazing and can gain any information within no time. Google
has the provision to integrate with various languages and its localized searching is
added features compared to other search engines. The information is well
organized.
WEAKNESS
As the information over the internet is increasing at an unprecedented rate, its
getting increasingly difficult for Google to organize information. Its becoming
really difficult to differentiate between good content, average content and bad
content as a search engine can’t check for credibility of all the information.
Google is just a search engine and it maintains its information in a organized
manner and provide it to the user. Thus it can be manipulated.
Cont’d
8. S.W.O.T. Analysis of Google

OPPORTUNITIES.
With emerging trends of technology and increase in internet users, a
revolution has been created in the 21st century for the common man to quest for
information and knowledge. “Adwords” which is pay per click program offered
by Google and “Adsense” a program in which the Website publishers earn a
portion of the advertising revenue for placing Google sponsored links on their site
are major revenue generation programs and customer attraction programs
respectively.
THREATS.
It faces competition from other search engines like Yahoo, Bing etc. Baidu and
Yandex in China and Russia are the market winners in that environment. These
can also be emerging threats to Google. Changing user preferences has resulted in
expectation of more quality results, which Yahoo focuses as its major agenda.
Most important is that Google should not lose its focus with competitors like
Facebook and yahoo.
9.
The Indian connection
As India emerging as a technologically savvy nation, it has become a hotspot
for many IT companies to recruit talented people from all over India. Many IT
companies in response to the talent available at hand , have now started setting
up their offices in India.
Many Indian origin companies are doing good in the international market.
Now, Google has also setup their offices in Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Mumbai and
Bangalore and are actively recruiting young talents in various fields be it IT,
sales, etc. and is providing localized services to Indian people and is making its
presence felt in the Indian sub-continent.
10.
What it means to me to work in this Organization
In my point of view, I find this organization, as an idea, to work for the better
environment, not for me only but for the others also, be it people working in
the organization and or the outside community.
As for the organization, running to have a profit is not the motive of the
company.
To build a sustainable future to provide upcoming generation with positive
morality while increasing their effectiveness so that the social-revolution
never ends.
I being a tech savvy person , I feel myself attracted to this particular
organization as a base, for increasing my global knowledge and awareness
while being working hard and going up on the line and gain dynamism
through wisdom.
Having a lateral way of thinking and or perception of things.
