Building Connections in Student-Informed Mental Health

It also explains how planning your workforce should work alongside your service planning and service redesign. There are also signposts to sources of information that may be useful in developing a TCP workforce plan.
Topic Two: Employing expert by experience in commissioning
Guest speakers: Catherine Keay (Transforming Care Manager) and Jo Minchin (Autism Expert by Experience), South West Lincolnshire CCG
This topic covers the role of experts by experience when they are directly employed by a Clinical Commissioning Group. It outlines a dual role in relation to Care and Treatment Reviews with the CCG and involvement of people with lived experience and their carers through the Lincolnshire Autism Partnership Board and working groups, specifically the Involvement and Collaboration Group (the A Team Network). The session also covers progress with CTRs for people with autism from a CCG and EbE perspective, including local CCG CTRs, reasonable adjustments and accessibility, barriers and areas for development and achievements to date.

Gender equality and women’s entrepreneurship have slipped off the policy radar with the introduction of COVID-19 relief measures. The majority of small business emergency relief policies do not reflect gender aspects of entrepreneurship, although the evidence suggests that women have been most impacted by the pandemic. Recovery planning presents the opportunity to introduce policies to address the needs of women entrepreneurs. Differential gendered impacts of COVID-19 on entrepreneurs are summarized.
GWT International Conference 2022 - Project GOALD
This 3 year project aims to design, test, and evaluate digital tools to facilitate structured physical activity programs for older adults. It will examine using digital approaches for two existing initiatives: intergenerational physical activity (IGPA) and sports-based intergenerational reminiscence (SBIR). The project will involve co-production groups of older adults and younger people providing input into digital design and testing products. It will also involve working with an existing program called "Generations Active Together" that has university students lead physical activity sessions for older adults. Measures will assess experiences, attitudes and capacities of both older and younger participants.

The presentation was also provided an update on the policy refresh, what is happening and when, and a discussion about the role of the learning disability advisers in the programme.
Topic Two: Guidance for TCPs in relation to Children and Young People

The presentation considered how Transforming Care Partnerships can plan and deliver local support and services for children, young people and their families. This is ahead of the publication of “Developing support and services for children and young people with learning disabilities and/or autism” later this year (November).
The presentation also considered each of the 9 principles of the Service Model: Supporting people with a learning disability and/or autism who display behaviour that challenges, including those with a mental health condition: Service model for commissioners of health and social care services, how they relate specifically to children and young people and what this will mean in terms of local commissioning intentions going forwards.

The social, technical and political challenges we face as a society demand new ways of thinking and working which are collaborative, holistic and resilient. As we unpack what these words mean, the implications for a university – indeed any learning organisation – run deep. At the core of the paradigm shift we see the need for learners (at all levels) to take increasing responsibility for their learning in authentic contexts: to become resilient agents of their own learning trajectories; to think holistically and to make sense of complex data. Far from being solely ‘graduate attributes’, the same qualities are needed by us: if we can’t model these qualities ourselves, we can’t teach them; if we can’t assess them authentically, we have no evidence base and we can’t provide formative feedback. This line of argument shapes how CIC is conceiving learning analytics (computer-supported tools to help learners and educators gather, analyse, visualise and act on learners’ data) and collective intelligence (networking tools to build a learning community’s evidence-base). In this talk we will give glimpses of these approaches in action, we’ll hear from learners and educators on what this paradigm shift feels like, and through several activities, we invite you to imagine how we can collaborate to test these concepts across UTS, as we move into Learning.Futures.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
