I really like this shot as just before it everything was in deep focus and it
slowly sunk into shallow focus as the man in the video running slowed
down. I also really like this shot because the man is running in the direction
of the camera but never gets closer to it yet camera is steady.
To me, the two shots in this video are really effective and the bright light
shooting from behind the singers emphasises their importance more which I
really like as well. Jump cuts are also used in this sequence to switch to the
other members of the band in the car which I really like too.
This screenshot shows a wide shot of one of the main locations in the music
video, I really like the natural street lighting up the otherwise dark scene
and how you can make out the buildings in the background even though
they aren’t the main focus in the video.
In this music video, despite the fact that it is far more performance based
than the previous one, I really like the use of extreme close ups which is
definitely something I would like to incorporate into my own project. I also
like the fact that focus is deep on her face but shallow in the background.
I like the use of wide shots and shaky camera work in this section of the
music video, the setting is already shown and then the man on the bike is
introduced. The shaky camera work makes the video seem quite intriguing
and I hope I can incorporate it into my own project.
My favourite part of this video is that it’s shot in a fishbowl kind of camera
directly in front of the person who the video revolves around. I really like
how the whole video is shot in slow motion and jump cuts, I think this is a
really affective video and definitely something I would like to do.
This is another music video which uses deep and shallow focus, after this
point in the clip everything changes into deep focus as the chorus is heard
again. Camera follows the main singer as he travels around and focus
continually changes depending on where and how he is moving.
The main thing I liked in this music video is the lighting and colours. This
screenshot only shows a small part of it but the use of reds and oranges
make it very warm and give the music video a very romantic vibe as the
colours are quite soft.
In this music video I really like the fact that they use artificial lighting which
reflects off of the artists face. Whist he is outside there is still traces of
blue/green light as well as red light. The rule of thirds also definitely applies
well here, which is something I hope to copy.
