Charlie Simpson - cemetery
Mise en scene
The video is set in the middle of a road, which seems to be quite
rural and surrounded by trees and forest land. the location
fits in well with the folk rock genre, as this kind of natural
   location

Props such as musical instruments, e.g.
guitars, drums, cello etc. Were used to
show the band, these props fit in well
considering it is a music video. They
are also commonly used in folk rock
music.
The costumes used in the music video are casual, and don’t attract
much of the audiences attention. Like the other videos, this allows the
audience to focus on other aspects of the video other than the clothes
the people are wearing. The choice of costume also help identify the role
they are trying to play, for example, in the video Charlie Simpson was
wearing an apron while he was at the side of the road with the flower
stall. This indicates that he was there to sell the flowers.
Camerawork
The video opens with a low angled head shot, this allows the
audience to identify the main character. it then goes into a
long shot which allows the audience to see the location and
enables them to get a good idea of what is going on in the
   shot.

Multiple long shots have been used to emphasise the isolated location. This
location also helps to show that he is alone and independent which also fits in
well with the lyrics of the song.
Tracking has been used in the scene that shows the car driving
down the road. Tracking allows you to see the speed and
   movement of the car.

Multiple close ups where used near the beginning of the music
video, these close ups were of the artist and the band playing the
music used in the song. The close up allows you to see the
instruments in detail, these instruments are also commonly found
in folk rock music videos as they are associated with this genre
of music.
Editing
Throughout the video the camera moves from one scene to
another. One showing the artist playing the role of someone
selling flowers along the side of a rural road, the other shot
shows the band playing instruments and singing the song.
This is called a cut away as it shows one scene then another
and then transfers back to the original scene. This happens
throughout the whole of the video.
Sound
There was no added dialogue or any other added
ambient sounds in the video. The only sound was
the song which was played throughout the whole
video. Although this could be used as ambient
sound as it was played as background music for
some scenes. It could also be seen as dialogue as
the artist sang the song in the video.
