• Music genre are so many types of music that we
need to classify them according to their purpose.
VOCAL GENRES
VOCAL GENRE: Vocal Music
This genre is for music created for the human voice without
accompaniment. It is what is know as ``a capella´´ voices. For example: a
choir.
INSTRUMENTAL GENRE
INSTRUMENTAL GENRE. Instrumental music
This genre applies to any music played with instruments alone. We can
divide this type into two varian:
Pure Music
Descriptive Music
VOCAL AND INSTRUMENTAL (COMBINED) GENRE
VOCAL AND INTRUMENTAL (COMBINED) GENRE: Vocal and instrumental genre
This genre applies to music that requieres a combination of voices and instruments.

RELIGIOUS GENRE
RELIGIOUS GENRE: Religious Music
This is music composed to be played in a religious context. We can distinguish between two
modes of religious music, depending on whether:
Liturgical Music
Non-Liturgical Music
PROFANE GENRE
PROFANE GENRE: Profane Music
This comprises any composition that serves no religious purpose and which is used for
entretaiment or for cultural or education purposes.Divided into to categories:
Popular Music:

FUNCTIONAL GENRE
FUNCTIONAL GENRE: Function or Events Music
This genre applies to music that serves as a backdrop to important
events. For example:

CINEMATOGRAPHIC GENRE: Motion Picture Music
This is when motion picture sound tracks are used to reinforce the film´s
message, maximising the sentiments and emotions in the script.

Stage music is used in artistic expressions acted out on a
stage.
ADVERTISING GENRE
ADVERTISING GENRE: Advertisement Music
Used for radio and TV ads, this genre employs in the same
way films do.
