Dead space 3 jake sound design in computer games analysis work sheet

Examples and Research into Music in Films

For horror films, suspenseful music with fast, dramatic violins are commonly used to create tension and unease. Examples include the theme from Jaws and the screeching violins during the shower scene in Psycho. Sci-fi films often feature electronic keyboards and computer-generated sounds, as seen in 2001: A Space Odyssey with its grand orchestral opening theme. Murder mysteries employ a variety of instruments like piano and mixtures of tones to convey emotions like sadness, anger, and shock during pivotal scenes such as revelations of the killer's identity.
Birdy skinny love indie folk analysis

As they converse, walking, talking, coughing and doors can be heard in the background along with creepy music that gets louder at certain points to signify changes or importance, with camera angles focusing on specific characters.

- 2. Background music Surgical Theatre Scene : I used creepy eerie music too add a it of edge in the theatre scene, this makes the audience feel uncomfortable and very on edge. The music consists of harmony’s being played on a high pitched but down beat slow rhythm. Deep drums rolls occasionally make the audience sit on the edge of their seat. All this compliments the ambience and also the mood between and of the characters to portray the mood of the scene.
- 3. Background Music Earth Pan Scene : In this scene a primary sound of breathing is used, heavy breathing helps to make the audience even more suspicious. There are cello’s and they are doing crescendo's. there is also deep drums, and a keyboard playing electronic harmonies. This compliments the confusion caused by the breathing and also compliments the suspicious plan from space, the keyboard gives a sci fi tone.
