Mushroom cultivation involves growing the fruit bodies of edible fungi. There are two main types of mushrooms - edible and poisonous. Mushrooms have a stalk and cap structure and some have a ring-like annulus. They are a rich source of protein and contain vitamins and minerals. Spawn is prepared from mushroom research centers or by sterilizing grains inoculated with mushroom culture. Successful mushroom production involves a cyclic process of sterilizing the growing medium, inoculating with spawn, maintaining moisture and hygiene, harvesting, and selling or eating the mushrooms.

6. SPAWN PREPARATION
Mother spawn can be produced from mushroom
research centre and primary culture of spawn can be
prepared by following process:-
1. Select jowar or wheat grains.
2. Boil the grains.
3. Drain out extra water.
4. Mix 3% chalk powder.
5. Fill in glucose bottle.
6. Sterilize the bottle.
7. Shift spawn .

7. KEY STEP IN MUSHROOM
PRODUCTION
This is a cyclic process takes 1-3 months.
1. Choose a clean room.
2. Sterilize bag & culture medium.
3. Place spawn on the medium.
4. Look after moisture, health & hygene.
5. Harvest mushrooms.
6. Selling & eating.
