4. On 16 June 2009 it was confirmed on the band's official website that the album would be released on 14 September 2009.
5. On 3 July, the band began updating their Twitter profile with the track listing for The Resistance, which was completed by the end of the day.
6. On August 17, 2009, iTunes gave 30-second previews for each of the songs on the album.
7. On 7 September 2009, Zane Lowe hosted the "Muse Night" on BBC Radio 1 which was the recording of one of the gigs Muse performed at the band's hometown of Teignmouth in Devon.

9. Muse have been nominated for two Q Awards. Uprising has been shortlisted in the "Best Track" category and the band is also up for the "Best Act in the World Today" award.
10. Muse have also been nominated in the Best Alternative category at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards.
11. The Resistance was released in the U.K. on 14th September 2009, topping the album charts in 16 countries and reaching No.3 on the American album chart.
12. On 14 July 2009, it was announced that the band will play their first televised United States performance at the MTV Video Music Awards on 13 September 2009, performing "Uprising“
13. The band will play at the Stade de France, in Paris (the biggest French stadium) on 12 June 2010.
14. On September 20th it was announced that ‘I Belong to You’ from The Resistance would be remixed and released as a track on the second Twlight movie. From 10 September, the album was free to listen to on the official website of The Guardian.
