Academic Programme
Mulgrave School offers the International Baccalaureate
programme, a forward-thinking, international curriculum aimed
at developing inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people
who help to create a better and more peaceful world through
intellectual understanding and respect. Mulgrave students
demonstrate excellence (or the pursuit of personal best, as we
define it) and growth in four major areas - academics, the arts,
athletics and citizenship.
As an International Baccalaureate Continuum school, Mulgrave
offers the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years
Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP). All
students at Mulgrave pursue the IB curriculum, with nearly all
pursuing the full IB Diploma Programme, which is both internally
and externally assessed. The full IB Diploma Programme, along
with the Grade 10 curriculum, meets all graduation requirements
for the British Columbia Ministry of Education; thus, all students
will receive the British Columbia High School Dogwood Diploma.

mulgrave’s enrichment programmes
At Mulgrave, we believe in providing our students with opportunities that will encourage them
to explore their interests and develop their passions. Our programmes are embedded within the
curriculum as well as offered as extra-curricular activities.
Disclosure Policy
Mulgrave School expects all faculty involved with an admissions candidate’s post-secondary application
to provide accurate information about the student’s academic, co-curricular, and/or character record,
in addition to identifying personal qualities that are relevant to the admissions process. Equally,
Mulgrave expects that our students, when asked about their high school disciplinary records, respond
honestly. We believe this approach provides the student with an opportunity to take responsibility
for his/her actions and to demonstrate maturity and character by dealing truthfully with universities.

Mulgrave School is accredited by
the British Columbia Inspector
of Independent Schools and

The Arts
Mulgrave has a robust creative and performing arts programme,
including two-year IB Diploma Programme courses in
film, music, theatre, and visual arts. Our students have the
opportunity to showcase their talents through various
performances and shows throughout the year. This includes
an annual major theatre production, several music concerts,
national and international competitions, film festivals, and
culminating art and music shows that form part of the course
assessment.
Athletics
Mulgrave has a three-season athletic programme that serves
to support students as they complete their CAS (Creativity,
Service and Action) requirements, a required element of their
IB diplomas. Students can choose from electives such as yoga
and mountain biking, or they can join one of our myriad athletic
teams: basketball, tennis, golf, volleyball, soccer, cross country,
badminton, and rugby.
Service and Leadership
Student Life at Mulgrave provides our students with a variety
of ways to be involved in both service and leadership. There are
official positions for student leaders, including Senior Prefects,
House Leadership Team, Head Girl and Head Boy, and the
Middle and Senior School Student Action Committee (MSAC
and SSAC). Additionally, students can choose to be involved in
annual activities such as Spirit Week, Terry Fox Run, and Battle
of the Houses (to name just a few), as well as join GEO trips
where they learn about new cultures and provide support to
underserved communities in foreign countries.
Outdoor Education
Our OE programme is considered one of our five strands and
is embedded in our curriculum starting in the Junior School.
Students participate in single- and multiple-day adventures
that align with their classroom studies and encourage them
to develop a greater appreciation for their natural world
and develop inter-personal skills as they work with others to
problem-solve.
