This document discusses several diseases that affect mulberry trees, including bacterial blight caused by Pseudomonas syringae, canker disease, and wood decay fungi. Bacterial blight causes small black spots on leaves and large brown spots on leaves, flowers, and fruits. It is favored by poor air circulation and wet foliage. Infected branches should be pruned and overhead irrigation avoided. Canker disease causes sunken areas of dead tissue on stems and branches, discoloring bark and wilting foliage on infected areas. Wood decay fungi cause the inner wood of trunks and limbs to decay rapidly, within months to years under certain conditions.
