Early Life
Reign
◉ Shihab ad Din was one of the greatest rulers of
the Ghurid dunasty
◉ He is credited with laying the foundation of
Muslim rule in the Indian Subcontinent which
lasted for several centuries.
◉ He reigned over a territory spanning over
parts of modern day
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Iran, North India,
Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan.

In 1173, Ghiyath
invaded Ghazni and defeated
the Oghuz Turks, who had taken
the city from the Ghaznavids. He
then installed his brother Mu'izz
al-Din as the ruler of Ghazni.

Shihab ud Din Ghori
1. Later he became successful in seizing Peshawar in 1180
2. Also Building a fort at Sialkot in 1181
3. In 1182 he occupy all Sindh.
4. In 1186
He attacked on Lahore and successfully ended the Ghaznavids
Empire, bringing the remaining territory under his control. ( by
executing the ruler Khusrau-Malik) WTH of Ruler Jammu (JaiDev)
Ghori is not so efficient leader.
He always use a proper strategy and use his mind great to tact
all the strategies in to work.
He has a brilliancy in implementing strategy like which officer
will go in battle etc
His choice is brilliant that will give him a great result.
Battle of Tarain (1191)

The Western Punjab was already annexed by Ghori, Know he want Eastern Punjab
Raja Prithviraj Chauhan
(the most powerful raja of India)
After all this he had a boost up to invade Punjab North India , Then furture extend to
south and Invade whole India.
 First he made strategy to involve all the rajas, Butt Prithviraj Chauhan is a power full
and efficient leader with big army & a well disciplined.
Ghori proceeded towards Indian Sub-continent through the Khyber Pass & And he was
supported by 1200 horsemen.
Prithviraj was alerted about the news.
 Ghori occupy there qilah butt when he received the news that prithiviraj’s army along
with Govind Raj were on the way he will ready to fight.
First Battle of Tarain

The two armies met at Tarain ,’14 miles from Thanesar Near Karnal In present day Haryana in 1191 A.D.
Ghori followed the tactics of the right, left and centre and himself occupied a position in the centre of his
army. All tactics failed and Prithviraj was dominating from start.
Ghori was wounded with personal combat with GovindRaj and badly injured and his strength was
exhausted and he was about to fall down from his horse .How ever a soldier helped him and carried out
him off the field of battle.

Second Battle Of Tarain (1192)
◉ Ghori Send Message to Prithviraj after one year that you should be
surrender ur self and he replied back letters should be exchanged like this.
◉ Butt Prithviraj get alert them self that some thing bad would be happened.
He start meetings with all rajputs and get them to one platform if they want
to safe their region.
◉ Some Rajputs come and some not.
◉ Rajput army Ghori Army
• 3000 elephant 120,000
(fully armored men)
• 300,000 cavalry and infantry
Second Battle of Tarain 1192
◉ Ghori divided his army for attack , and make different strategy to get them defeat.
◉ Rajput had a tradition of fighting from sunrise to sunset, due to surprise attack before
sunrise the prithvi army was exhausted. According to Taj-ul-Maasir, Prithviraj’s camp lost
100,000 men including Govindraj in this battle.
◉ He started destroying those cities where ideal worship is belongs like mehmood Ghaznavi,
◉ Captured Ajmer after killing several thousand defenders and destroyed temples .

◉ No Ruler in Rajputs who stop to further advance Muslims in India
◉ Ghori destroyed the pillars and foundation of idol temples and built in their mosques and
colleges and the percepts of Islam and the customs of the law were divulge and
established
◉ Son of Prithvi Raj was made as the ruler of Ajmer and he promised to pay tribute.
◉ Mohammad of Ghore Treat Their slaves like children
◉ Mohammad Ghori went back to Ghazni, Leaving one of slave
It was a deciding victory by Muhammad of Ghor and end of Prithviraj Chauhan
In charge of his Indian possessions, In short time Qutb-ud-din-Aibak conquered Meerut,
kol and Delhi. And Made Delhi the seat of his government (Slave dynasty) Rule of Muslim
after this battle come to existance.

On his way back to Ghazni,
His caravan rested at Dhamiak near Sohawa (which is
near the city of Jhelum in the Punjab province of
modern-day Pakistan).
He was assassinated on March 15, 1206 while offering
his evening prayers. His killers are unconfirmed. It may
have been the Khokhars

Reign ◉ Shihab ad Din was one of the greatest rulers of the Ghurid dunasty ◉ He is credited with laying the foundation of Muslim rule in the Indian Subcontinent which lasted for several centuries. ◉ He reigned over a territory spanning over parts of modern day Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Iran, North India, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan. 3

  • 7. Shihab ud Din Ghori 1. Later he became successful in seizing Peshawar in 1180 2. Also Building a fort at Sialkot in 1181 3. In 1182 he occupy all Sindh. 4. In 1186 He attacked on Lahore and successfully ended the Ghaznavids Empire, bringing the remaining territory under his control. ( by executing the ruler Khusrau-Malik) WTH of Ruler Jammu (JaiDev) Ghori is not so efficient leader. He always use a proper strategy and use his mind great to tact all the strategies in to work. He has a brilliancy in implementing strategy like which officer will go in battle etc His choice is brilliant that will give him a great result.

Battle of Tarain (1191) Know he want Punjab The Western Punjab was already annexed by Ghori, Know he want Eastern Punjab Raja Prithviraj Chauhan (the most powerful raja of India) After all this he had a boost up to invade Punjab North India , Then furture extend to south and Invade whole India.  First he made strategy to involve all the rajas, Butt Prithviraj Chauhan is a power full and efficient leader with big army & a well disciplined. Ghori proceeded towards Indian Sub-continent through the Khyber Pass & And he was supported by 1200 horsemen. Prithviraj was alerted about the news.  Ghori occupy there qilah butt when he received the news that prithiviraj’s army along with Govind Raj were on the way he will ready to fight.
  • 9. First Battle of Tarain 9 The two armies met at Tarain ,’14 miles from Thanesar Near Karnal In present day Haryana in 1191 A.D. Ghori followed the tactics of the right, left and centre and himself occupied a position in the centre of his army. All tactics failed and Prithviraj was dominating from start. Ghori was wounded with personal combat with GovindRaj and badly injured and his strength was exhausted and he was about to fall down from his horse .How ever a soldier helped him and carried out him off the field of battle. Second Battle Of Tarain (1192) ◉ Ghori Send Message to Prithviraj after one year that you should be surrender ur self and he replied back letters should be exchanged like this. ◉ Butt Prithviraj get alert them self that some thing bad would be happened. He start meetings with all rajputs and get them to one platform if they want to safe their region. ◉ Some Rajputs come and some not. ◉ Rajput army Ghori Army • 3000 elephant 120,000 (fully armored men) • 300,000 cavalry and infantry

Second Battle of Tarain 1192 ◉ Ghori divided his army for attack , and make different strategy to get them defeat. ◉ Rajput had a tradition of fighting from sunrise to sunset, due to surprise attack before sunrise the prithvi army was exhausted. According to Taj-ul-Maasir, Prithviraj’s camp lost 100,000 men including Govindraj in this battle. ◉ He started destroying those cities where ideal worship is belongs like mehmood Ghaznavi, ◉ Captured Ajmer after killing several thousand defenders and destroyed temples . 11 Shihab ud din defeats Prithviraj Chauhan

Islamic Rule After This Battle ◉ No Ruler in Rajputs who stop to further advance Muslims in India ◉ Ghori destroyed the pillars and foundation of idol temples and built in their mosques and colleges and the percepts of Islam and the customs of the law were divulge and established ◉ Son of Prithvi Raj was made as the ruler of Ajmer and he promised to pay tribute. ◉ Mohammad of Ghore Treat Their slaves like children ◉ Mohammad Ghori went back to Ghazni, Leaving one of slave It was a deciding victory by Muhammad of Ghor and end of Prithviraj Chauhan In charge of his Indian possessions, In short time Qutb-ud-din-Aibak conquered Meerut, kol and Delhi. And Made Delhi the seat of his government (Slave dynasty) Rule of Muslim after this battle come to existance. Sultanat of Delhi and became Sultan
  • 13. End of Ghore 13 On his way back to Ghazni, His caravan rested at Dhamiak near Sohawa (which is near the city of Jhelum in the Punjab province of modern-day Pakistan). He was assassinated on March 15, 1206 while offering his evening prayers. His killers are unconfirmed. It may have been the Khokhars
