This document summarizes a thesis defense presentation on the design and implementation of a microcontroller-based maximum power point tracking solar charge controller. The presentation covered the operating principles and switching mechanisms of charge controllers, including pulse width modulation and maximum power point tracking using the Perturb and Observe algorithm. It described the hardware design of the proposed charge controller, including circuit diagrams and a printed circuit board layout. Experimental results showed the designed charge controller was able to achieve an average efficiency of 96.52% over multiple test days. A cost analysis found the total production cost of the designed controller would be around 2047 Bangladeshi Taka.
