Mr Ahmad is a 65-year-old male who was admitted to the medical ward as a suspected case of Tuberculosis (TB). He reports feeling tired, and weak, and having a persistent cough with mucus production for the past several weeks. He also reports having a significant amount of weight loss and a low-grade fever. Mr Ahmad is a known case of COPD, and he has been keeping the head of the bed elevated for most of the day and night to facilitate his breathing which has resulted in lower back pain. Mr. Ahmad is on 2 lityes of oxygen by nasal cannula. He recolves respiratory treatments of albuterol (AccuNeb, Proventil, Ventolin) overy six hours as neded. The medical team also started Mr. Ahmad on Multiple antibiotics includes isoniazid, rifampin, pyrazinamide, ethambutol hydrochloride, and Streptomycin.
