Michael, a 10-year-old African American male, presented to the emergency department experiencing an asthma exacerbation with trouble breathing, wheezing, fever, anxiety and respiratory distress. His oxygen saturation was low at 89%. He has a history of asthma triggered by weather changes and uses his albuterol inhaler frequently. He also experiences seasonal allergic rhinitis. His evaluation showed high blood pressure and occasional wheezing on examination. He was diagnosed with an asthma exacerbation and seasonal allergic rhinitis.
