Moving to another city: Students assume that they are going to move to another city
and they are free to choose one they like. They are asked to exchange their choice.

Time: 20 mins
Procedure:
1. Tell students to imagine you were moving to a new city to live and work there and
that they have the right to choose their favourite city.
2. Ask them individually to think about the question: What would be the most
important factors to take into consideration? Put the following in order of
importance.
• Cinemas/theatres/concert halls • Good flats/houses
• Good transport systems • Good schools/hospitals/universities
• Presence of family/friends • Safe streets
• Parks/green areas • Culture
• Other???
3. When they have finished, ask them to share with the friends in pairs or in groups.
4. Feedback: ask the class which is the most important? Or which they have
considered first?
