Time: 20 mins
Procedure:
1. Put the class into two teams and ask one team to list out adjectives relating to city
life and the other team to write down adjectives about countryside life.
2. Try to write them into two columns on the board for later use in the task.
3. Now ask them to work individually for 5 minutes to think about their preference of
whether they like to live in a city or in the countryside. Tell them to note down the
advantages of living in the place of their choice.
4. When they have finished, ask them to form groups and tell each other about their
decisions. Encourage other students to comment on their friends’ ideas.
5. Feedback: ask how many of them love to live in the city and how many prefer
countryside life.
