More Tips for Writing
         AP Language
         Ms. Shimmy
• A research paper is only
  as good as its sources
  of information.
  Double check your
  Notes/Sources
  I suggest printing out
  your notes/sources so
  you have them in front
  of you
Your revised outline should have
organized your notes, and your
argument.
As you move from outline to 1st
draft, you should critically
analyze the information that
you have gathered.
Avoid including
any irrelevant
information or
information that
you don’t
understand.
As you write, you
may want to use
headings, or color
coding (that you’ll
remove before
submitting) in order
to organize your
ideas
Start with the first topic in your
outline and re-read all the
notes that you’ve made on that
topic.
When you write, use the
technique that suits you best.
That could be quotes,
summaries or paraphrases.
First Pass

 Allow yourself a first pass that
    just focuses on getting
    information down
 Once this is finished, and you’ve
stepped aside for a bit, you can
    come back and revise
