This document provides resources for teaching phonics and early reading using speech sound picture (SSP) cards. It includes: 1) Instructions and songs for classroom activities using the SSP cards to develop sound recognition, blending, and word building. 2) Lists of SSP words for different levels arranged in chants to practice fluency. 3) Tips for using the resources at home and information on purchasing SSP materials. 4) Recommendations for apps, videos, and readers that incorporate the SSP method. 5) Suggestions for expanding on the SSP concept such as linking sounds to objects and exploring multiple representations of sounds.

Then the children write the sound pics, saying the RWI phrase (ask if you don’t have them)
