2. Welcome to our first grade Money Web-Quest!
Hi first graders & parents!
We are going to try something new this week with our Money Unit! In class
we will be learning about coins and bills and their value. We will be doing several
activities in class with money. For this weeks homework you will be following this
web-quest! First you will need to pair up with another student in the class, we
have 20 students so we should have 10 groups of 2! Pair up with your lunch
buddy. Your out of class work this week will be focusing on the actual piece of
money. 10 groups of 2 gives us a group for each piece of money.
Group1- Penny Group2- Nickel Group3- Dime Group4- Quarter
Group5- $1 Group6- $5 Group7- $10 Group8- $20 Group9- $50 Group10- $100

3. TASK- Outline of the assignment
Each group is responsible to identify all objects on a
piece of money. I will be giving each group a bag of a
real piece of money. The group must complete a
poster board telling all about that piece of money.
You may use the internet, but you must write on the
back of your poster board the website where the
information was found. On Friday you will bring in
your group poster board and presenting them to the
class.
4. Process- Steps you need to follow
▪ Step 1- Title
– Your poster board must have a
title, including both group
members names. What money you
will be telling us about & its value.
▪ Step 2- Picture
– Print off 2 pictures (pictures must
be of real money) 1 picture of the
front and 1 picture of the back. You
may take pictures of the money
provided or use internet pictures.
▪ Step 3- Face
– In this section you must state who
the face is on piece of money and
what they are important for. (3-5
sentences)
Step 4- Date
- In this section you need to
write the date in which your
piece of money was made.
Then find one important event
from that year
Step 5-The back
- In this section tell about the
back of your money, what is on
the back? What does it mean?
Is it a place?
Step 6- Fun Fact
- In this section tell 3 fun facts
about your piece of money!
