DIVISION CRITICAL THINKERS
QUEST 2014
Mechanics:
1. There will be 2 contestants per grade
level in every district.
2. Real Life Situations and activity materials
will be provided by the Division Office.
3. Registration form must be submitted or
can be sent through email a week before
the contest date.
4. In case one of the contestants is not
available due to any circumstances, the
alternate contestant is automatically
part of the team.
5. There will be two (2) phases in the
competition:
Phase 1 - Situational Analysis, Problem
Making and solution (Grades 4-6; 10
min. And Grade1-3; 15 min.).
 After the given time limit, all outputs will
be collected by the members of working
committee/judges.
Phase 2 -Presentation of Outputs ( 5 min. )
 Drawing of lots is done on the day of the
competition to determine the order of
group presentations.
 A deduction of 1 point per judge in every
minute and of a fraction thereof in excess
of the given time limit.
6. In case of any clarifications, only the team
leader can ask questions directly to the
Chairman of the board of judges.
7. The decision of judges is final and
irrevocable.
8. Only top 5 teams will be declared as
winners.

9. A special award will be given to the OVER-ALL

1. Rodney went to a BSP shop to buy
materials and gadgets needed for the
upcoming BSP Patrol Leader Training
Course with the following prices. BSP
short pants at P430.00, Neckerchief
at P65.00, Jungle knife at P 320.00,
BSP belt at P90.00, cap at P120.00,
polo shirt at P320.00, and carabao
slide at P50.00 His mother gave him
only P1000.
2. Every morning, it takes 75 minutes
for me to do the household chores and
45 minutes to walk from home to
school. Our first subject starts at 7:45
a.m. and our teacher told us to be in
school 15 minutes before the time to
attend the Flag Raising Ceremony and
clean our classroom.
1.Mr. Lim made an experiment on his upland
farm. He planted his one hectare farm with
palay. One half of it is chemical and fertilizer
free and harvested 30 sacks while the other
half hectare was applied with chemicals and
fertilizers, spending P5,000 and harvested
45 sacks. Each sack cost P850.
2. During our childhood days, we used to
harvest assorted vegetables from our
backyard garden and sell it to our neighbors.
We were able to harvest the following items
with the corresponding prices;

1. Rodeen and his father played a target
board one Saturday afternoon. The target
board has corresponding points from the
center going outside 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. After
his father got 18 points, he gave him 5 dart
pins to play.

2. Annual enhancement will be based on the
findings and recommendations from all
District Math Coordinators.
3. Teacher will construct a weekly real-life
and competency based situations per grade
level.
 a monitoring and evaluation forms/tools to
be filled up by the school numeracy
coordinator.
 Regular and Continuous consultations be
employed to gather updated data to
enhance this program.
 While the program is on its implementation,
the team will design the paper and pencil
assessment tools (e.g. Mathematics Skills
Inventory/ Mathematics Readiness
Inventory (all are competency based of K
to 12 curriculum). This will be administered
in the month February of every year.

  • 4. DIVISION CRITICAL THINKERS QUEST 2014 Mechanics: 1. There will be 2 contestants per grade level in every district. 2. Real Life Situations and activity materials will be provided by the Division Office. 3. Registration form must be submitted or can be sent through email a week before the contest date.
  • 5. 4. In case one of the contestants is not available due to any circumstances, the alternate contestant is automatically part of the team. 5. There will be two (2) phases in the competition: Phase 1 - Situational Analysis, Problem Making and solution (Grades 4-6; 10 min. And Grade1-3; 15 min.).
  • 6.  After the given time limit, all outputs will be collected by the members of working committee/judges. Phase 2 -Presentation of Outputs ( 5 min. )  Drawing of lots is done on the day of the competition to determine the order of group presentations.  A deduction of 1 point per judge in every minute and of a fraction thereof in excess of the given time limit.
  • 7. 6. In case of any clarifications, only the team leader can ask questions directly to the Chairman of the board of judges. 7. The decision of judges is final and irrevocable. 8. Only top 5 teams will be declared as winners.

  • 28.  Mathematics Skills Inventory/Mathematics Readiness Inventory should be administered every February of every year.  CD of the Mathematics Skills Inventory will be distributed by January 2015 for Reproduction in the district level.
  • 29. 1. Implementation : starts SY 2014-2015. 2. Annual enhancement will be based on the findings and recommendations from all District Math Coordinators. 3. Teacher will construct a weekly real-life and competency based situations per grade level.
  • 30.  a monitoring and evaluation forms/tools to be filled up by the school numeracy coordinator.  Regular and Continuous consultations be employed to gather updated data to enhance this program.
  • 31.  While the program is on its implementation, the team will design the paper and pencil assessment tools (e.g. Mathematics Skills Inventory/ Mathematics Readiness Inventory (all are competency based of K to 12 curriculum). This will be administered in the month February of every year.
