Architect John Wink Design
Makes sure that the structure is built to design spec in accordance with British standards. Architects
are generally good at ensuring the work is professionally done that it meets the requirements of
building control and that you have a structural engineer if you need one. The Town and Country
Planning (Scotland) Act 1972 requires any one proposing to develop land to first obtain planning
permission from the Local Authority. However, in the case of most agricultural buildings, planning
permission is deemed to be granted under the provisions of the Town and Country Planning
(General Permitted Development) (Scotland) Order 1992 and express planning permission is not
therefore required.

write reports and evaluations, and observe construction sites.

Examples Of Nonviolent Resistance
There are many ways can nonviolent resistance be more powerful than violent retaliation. First,
there are many techniques about nonviolent resistance that are sit ins, which means the patience to
harm, protest, that means to disagree about something and walk in the street in peaceful way,
boycotts, which means to stop buy something from someone or company, marches, that means to
walk with a group of people for a long way, or speeches, which means to talk in front the people.
For example, black students wanted to sit in a lunch counter and tried to ordered food, but they
were refused, so they left and came back the next day, but they were threated and they got national
attention. In addition, company of bus refused to sit black beside white,

Effectiveness Of Phonological Awareness Interventions On...
Only one third of students in the U.S. are scoring at proficient levels on reading assessments. The
data from 2013 to 2015 has remained relatively unchanged with one exception children with
intellectual disabilities reading scores have actually dropped (National Report Card, 2015). The
purpose of this study was to determine if evidence based readinginterventions from the Florida
Center for Reading Research (FCRR) would increase phoneme blending and segmenting skills in
children who have intellectual disabilities. Two 1st grade special education students, ages 6 and 7,
participated in an AB research design. Phoneme segmentation fluency and nonsense word fluency

IDEA also stated that any alternate assessment must be aligned to grade level standards (Towles
Reeves, Kleinart Muhomba, 2009). The research is expanding in the area of evidence based reading
interventions to include children who have intellectual disabilities. Phonological awareness is
gaining support as a critical element in reading instruction as shown in student performances using
targeted intervention measures that align to the student s instructional level and to reading
standards (Lemons, Mrachko, Kostewicz, Paterra, 2012). Without explicit instruction in
phonologicalawareness, a student will fall short in being able to understand the critical elements
needed to read and will only be able to learn by memorization (Shankweiler Fowler, 2004). Based on
these statistics, evidence based reading interventions including phonological awareness must be
included in reading instruction. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of evidence based
reading interventions that align with students instructional level and their achievement in literacy
performance for first grade students who have intellectual disabilities (ID). The information
presented focused on early literacy development, phonological awareness, intellectual

The Influence Of Periodization
In periodization three, 600 1450 CE, it was an age of many empires such as the Tong and Song.
A new religion, Islam, had emerged to the world at this time now becoming the second most
practiced religion of today. Not only this but empires, like the Incan and Byzantine had emerged
and were becoming more spread out geographically. New groups of people like the Mongols
raided the lands and Europe was exploding with rulers, disease, trade, and religion. Not only was
there many important events and dates in this time period but also people. The top five people of
this periodization include MuhammadIbn Abdullah, Charlemagne, Zheng He, Chinggis Khan, and
Ibn Battuta. This people were very important due to their background, accomplishments, and impact
on the world. To begin with Muhammad Ibn Abdullah, was VERY influential in the third
periodization. Being the last prophet and messenger of god, Allah spreading the religion of Islam.

shifting series of alliances, betrayals, military victories won a reputation as a great leader turning
him to the universal ruler . Chinggis Khan accomplishments include his tolerance of religion. Then
the first Mongol script, the support for the trade and craft, and the creation of a legal code. He also
brought all tribes under one rule making a strong military conquest. Overall Chinggis Khan s
conquest and presence with his conquest brought destruction and fear within Eurasia impacting the

Burk Drum Lessons
Learn, create, and perform drum lessons at Matt Burk Music Studio are far more than just
ordinary lessons with a washed out teacher in a stuffy room. You ll be happy to know that you can
find drum lessons in Frisco Texas that will motivate, challenge, and inspire you, and while you
might be wondering if this is too good to be true, rest assured that drumlessons at Matt Burk Studio
incorporate every element of musical learning in the finest way possible. Our qualified and
experienced teachers will ensure a fantastic experience for everyone by tuning into each student s
unique learning style, and we foster our students own goals and dreams rather than trying to fit
them into a box.
Our studio isn t content with giving students the same run of the mill instruction they can find
anywhere. We are passionate about offering truly excellent drum lessons to our neighbors in Frisco,
Texas, and that s why we focus on turning young drummers into complete musicians rather than
mindless machines with sticks. We instruct students on how to practice wisely and efficiently to
stay both sane and healthy because after all, quality is better than quantity in music too. Their
progress can usually be predicted based not just on the amount of time they practice, but on how
slowly and carefully they do it, says Drummer Magazine. We tend... Show more content on

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Millions of people each year flee their country in order to escape persecution and conflict, seeking
asylum as a refugee (Amnesty International Australia 2011). Many refugees present with and
develop mental illness due to having experienced or witnessing events such as rape, torture, war,
imprisonment, murder, physical injury and genocide, before fleeing their homes (Nicholl
Thompson 2004). Refugees are now accessing mental health services for the treatment of Post

The hypothalamic piturity adrenocortical (HPA) system that allows the coping with stress is also
dysregulated in PTSD. Patients display abnormalities such as lower urinary cortisol levels, elevated
lymphocyte glucocorticoid receptor levels and dexamethasone super suppression. The acoustic
startle response is a series of muscular and autonomic responses that alert the body to a threat. An
exaggerated startle response is one of the diagnostic symptoms of PTSD. PTSD patients display a
shorter period and increased change of the acoustic startle eye blink reflex, significant loss of the
normal modulation of the startle reflex, and resistance to habituation of the startle response
(Friedman 2000). Fear conditioning is a mechanism that neutral cues associated with a traumatic
event acquire the capacity to cause a conditioned emotional response in the absence of the aversive
stimulus. Appraisal discussed by Friedman (2000) is a process that evaluate whether a situation is
possibly dangerous. Coping, adaptation, and survival depend on the capacity of individuals to
assess different situations accurately as pleasant, gentle, challenging or threatening. PTSD patients
have lost this capacity and are much more likely to assess normal situations as threatening. This

Costa Rica-Personal Narrative
I have had the opportunity to live in both Montana and Costa Rica, both which are synonymous
with anything that might encompass the thoughts of adventure, environment and the outdoors.
So much so, that their economy is centralized around eco tourism. I always had Glacier National
Park, the Bob Marshal Wilderness and Corcovado National Park right at my footsteps do to my
father being a wildlife biologist. Around the time I was 6 years old we were living in a small
town in the mountains of Costa Rica the towns name was Montverde. I did not have friends or a
street to ride my bike, what I had was an imagination that ran wild. We lived in the middle of the
clouded rainforest where wild hogs and tapirs would surround the house and even rub their
bodies up again the outside of my bedroom, it was not uncommon to come across a recently
shedded skin of a boa constrictor or chase out tarantulas the size of a adult s hand from the house.
To me this lifestyle was normal, I had not experienced much difference in other places where we
lived. I remember vividly walking to kindergarten during this time. My father walked alongside me

Performance Evaluation Of Ofdm System Using Non Linear...
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF PAPR REDUCTION IN OFDM SYSTEM USING NON
LINEAR COMPANDING TRANSFORM
ABSTRACT
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing is considered as an advanced communication
model which has wide range of applications such as 3G, 4G, and Wi Fi etc. Though orthogonal
frequency division multiplexing has lots of advantages over conventional communication
models such as FDMA, CDMA still it has some disadvantages in that the major drawback is
Peak to Average Power Ratio. In literature several theories are proposed to resolve this issue but
none of the algorithm is designed to meet the practical approach. In our work a novel approach is
present to resolve the Peak to Average Ratio by introducing the variable slopes parameters K1, K2
and inflexion points A (A 0) and CA (0 C 1) in the probability density functionin the Non Linear
Companding Transform Technique then based on the inflexion point and variables parameter
analysis, the
performances of two incompatible features PAPR and Bit Error rate can be achieved. Selection of
Non Linear Companding transform parameters plays an essential role as overall performance,
robustness depends on it. The proposed theoretical work results can be view through MATLAB
simulations.
OVERVIEW
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing is considered as highly successful communication
model compares to conventional communication models because of low sensitivity to multipath
propagation and eminent spectral efficiency. OFDM too

Bioinformatics, Identifying an unknown strand of DNA....
Question One:
Which type of BLAST search did you choose, and why?
The BLAST search that was chosen for this particular sequence was the nucleotide blast, as DNA
and RNA are chains of nucleotides. A, C, G and T are the nucleotides that are found in DNA. A,
C, G and U are nucleotides that are found in RNA. Nucleotides are the building blocks of proteins.
Proteins are chains of amino acids of which there are 20 or so, which are made up of nucleotides.
This particular sequence was made up of the nucleotides; Thymine, Adenine, Guanine and Cytosine,
therefore, it is a nucleotide sequence, rather than a protein sequence.
Question Two:
What is the name of the gene?
The particular gene is called AF120116.
Question Three:

Question Nine:
How many amino acids are there in the entire protein that the unknown sequence codes part of?
401
Question Ten:
State why the number of nucleotides that encode the protein is not exactly 3 times the number of
amino acids that are translated.
The number of nucleotides that encode the protein is not exactly 3 times the number of amino acids
that are translated because the numbers in the groups of amino acids is uneven to the amount of
nucleotides, meaning that the STOP codon, is translated before the end of the nucleotide sequence.
Question Eleven:
The protein in which the gene AF120116 encodes is named FtsZ, and is found in prokaryotes. It is
structurally related to tubulin, and accumulates at the furrow between dividing cells, playing a
crucial role in cell division [1]. The cellular concentration of FtsZ regulates the frequency of
division and genetic studies have indicated that it is the target of several endogenous division
inhibitors [2]. Only certain protists appear to have retained FtsZ, and the protein is absent from the
mitochondria of fungi, animals, and higher plants. [3] Without Ftsz, it appears as though
Cytokinesis wouldn t be possible within most bacteria.

Similarities Between Big Daddy And Daddy Bee
Daddy Bee
When thinking about civil law we depict a set of interpretation of rules that codify laws that we
follow. Lawmakers are typically the essential individuals providing greater explanations of how
the law applies. In the films Big Daddy and Bee Movie I was able to analyze a representation of
Americas civil law systems with many different concepts. Big Daddy is a film where a man
named Sonny Koufax has spent his entire life avoiding responsibility. Then one day his girlfriend
dumps him so he decides to find a way to prove that he is ready to grow up. This is the moment
when a five year old kid name Julian, comes knocking at his apartment door claiming that he is the
father. Nevertheless, Julian is not actually Sonny s kid but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When thinking about these two films we can see how has civil law establish a representation of
torts, negligence, product liability, compensatory damages, and many other things that relate to the
analyzation of the American civil law portrayed in our media.
Torts in the bee movie were very visible. Being able to see that torts are typically application of
common law principles that develop over time through the accumulation of precedents raises an
awareness of what actually occurs in a case (Berk Lecture, 04/12/17). For example, in the Bee
Movie the scene where another bee named Adam Flayman stings an individual named Layton it
was not his intention to commit the injury but was still liable for doing so, because there was still
someone who got hurt, and in order for there to be a tort there has to be an injury. As a result,
having torts provide incentives for good conduct and disincentives for bad conduct, provides
compensation, and fairness in the objective over other mechanisms (Feinman,145) Thus said, with
Adam committing the injury he has to take responsibility for an action that he did.
Focusing on negligence in comparison to torts Big Daddy portraits a comparative negligence for
the fact that the plaintiff was at fault. The reason behind this is because Sonny new that keeping
the kid was not correct since he was not the legal guardian of the child. Thus in this case shows that
Sonny did not assume the risk after taking Julian in as his

International Institutions, Treaties, And Sanctions Essay
International Institutions, Treaties, and Sanctions and
Their Effects on International Business International institutions abound in the realm of
international business. As globalization increases, disputes multiply. The responsibilities of these
organizations can vary due to the needs of its members, such as monetary or trade issues. Moreover,
the support these institutions provide may come in the form of various agreements to include the
negotiation or enforcement of sanctions and treaties which will either stop or promote trade
between nations.
International Institutions
There are varying types of organizations which monitor or assist with disputes or negotiations on
an international level. Some of these factions focus on a more regional area, such as the Free Trade
Commission, not to be confused with the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
According to NAFTAnow.org (2013), the Free Trade Commission watches over the North
American Free Trade Act (NAFTA) which took effect in 1994. This agreement, as a result, lifted
trade barriers between Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The Free Trade Commission has
representatives from all three member nations who implement, oversee, negotiate, and resolve
disputes arising from the interpretation of the agreement (About NAFTA | North American Free
Trade Agreement, 2013).
More importantly, there are international trade organizations who reach a much larger scale and
focus on both emerging and established global

Pearl Harbor Accuracy Essay
Pearl Harbor
The movie Pearl Harbor is historically inaccurate because of the fact that it doesn t have a
correct order of events, appropriate weaponry and because of it s usage of props that were
unavailable at the time. First of all in the movie Pearl Harbor, the actual sequence of events that
occured on December 7, 1941 was that the japanese sent two seperate waves of fighter planes to
attack the U.S Naval base of Pearl Harbor. (Memorials) However in the movie Pearl Harbor the
attack on the naval base was depicted as being just a single wave of japanese fighter pilots. This
greatly affects the movies credibility of being historically accurate by providing a false picture of
what happened at the attack of the Naval base.
Also another discrepancy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Hughes) As well as in the movie there is a couple scenes that show three guns mounted to each
wing of the fighter plane but really the models of planes at the time only had two mounted on
each wing. (Pearl Harbor) Also another thing wrong with the movie is how the use of korean
vehicles appeared specifically the jeep that the commander is sitting in, the M 80s. The korean
M 80s were invented in around the 1950 s so it could have been around during the attack on Pearl
Harbor. (Jeep) Also another thing that proved to be historically inaccurate in the film was the the
props they used. One being the types of cigarettes they were smoking. The characters from the
movie were smoking Marlboro Lights which didn t even appear anywhere until the 70 s! (Hughes)
Another prop that was used in the movie that was incorrect for the time period of the movie which
was set in the 1940 s was how most of the characters would wear rimless sunglasses, something that
definitely wasn t around during that period of time. The rimless sunglasses weren t invented until
the 60 s.

I Naturally And Instantly Chose `` Bohemian Rhapsody `` By...
For my song analysis assignment, I naturally and instantly chose Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.
This song was the anthem of the 70 s and still, our anthem today. Nothing compares to the
harmonies and musicianship put into this song.
Queen released Bohemian Rhapsody on October 31, 1975.
This song was greeted like a gift from heaven in the largely desolated musical ground of the mid 70s
Freddie Mercury is the writer of the song also pianist and a lead vocalist in Queen. He wrote the
song in his apartment whilst he was trying to develop a complex song using a structure that leans
towards a more classical approach.
In the studio, the band embraced the psychedelic and progressive elements (which were initiating
throughout this era) and took them to another level.
Bohemian Rhapsody was nothing more than their simple their simple instrumental line up of
Guitar, Bass, Piano and Drums. However, they played them like they were something completely
new and in doing so; Queen delivered a new revolution of rock music.
Thrown into the period of glam, it was no surprise when Queen s elegance earned them a glam
rocker tag.
The title of the song has a powerful ideology. The word Bohemian could be traced to the practice
of an untraditional lifestyle. I believe the song has something to do with Freddie coming out as a
homosexual. In that era, it was not a normal thing and therefore majority of people were against it.
Interestingly enough the song has not got a chorus, but just

Structure And Functions Of The Skeletal System
TASK 1 Skeletal system Produce an information project that can be displayed around a sports

system. A. Describe the main functions of the skeletal system (P1) Functions of the Skeleton
Support the skeleton acts as frame for the body and keeps us upright, it provides shape and is the
main structural frame for the body. Protection the skeleton provides the protection for the vital
organs in the body. For example, the rib cage protects the heart and lungs. Another example
would be the cranium; it protects the one of the most import vital organs in the body, the brain.
Movement the skeleton enables movement. It provides a large surface area for muscle
attachment. When skeletal muscles contract, they pull on bones at a joint to produce movement.
Produce Blood Cells the skeleton enables red and white blood cells to be produced in the marrow
cavities of larger bones of the body. Red blood cells make haemoglobin and transport oxygen and
carbon dioxide around the body. White blood cells help protect the body against infections. Bones
such as the femur and the pelvic girdle produce blood cells. Fat and Mineral storage the bones in the
skeleton store many minerals. The main minerals they store are calcium and phosphorus which
strengthen the bones. Leverage the bones in the skeleton provide the attachment for muscles. The
muscles attached to the bones provide the power

The Myth Of Dante s Divine Comedy By Harry Potter And The...
A Myth is a story that keeps being retold. How is the myth of Glaucus actualized (i.e. what are
the new cultural implications at stake) in the first Canto of Paradise of Dante s Divine
Comedy? And in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire? ( /2) The Myth of Glaucus begins when
Glaucus, a mortal in Greek mythology, becomes immortal by eating a magical herb. When he
goes into the water he is then turned into a prophetic god of the sea. This myth is actualized the
film, Harry potter and the Goblet of fire, when Harry consumes the Ghillie weed and grows
flippers and gills when he jumps into the lake. This transformation is done through magic, rather
than a miracle, so it has a magical theme rather than a spiritual one, loosing the religious aspect.
The weed Harry consumes in the story is very similar to the one used in the myth of Glaucus
showing where the idea of the Ghillie weed came from, and how the transformation is actualized
through magic. The myth of Glacus is also actualized in Dante s Divine Comedy when Dante
transcends beyond the human kind, and becomes equal to the Gods by looking at Beatrice, similar
to how Glaucus used the herb to gain his power. Beatrice stood unmoved; and I with kenFix d upon

Ending a big problem can be one of the most relaxing things that can ever happen, but when a
bigger problem arises, then it s absolutely one of the worst things a human or a country can ever

a lot of pandemonium on the streets of big cities like Bogota and Medellin. After the person who
started the war on drugs got killed, Pablo Escobar, it seemed like peace was imminent again, but
there was another problem the Colombians didn t know about; it was called Las FARC. Las FARC

Essay On Weapons In The Civil War
Weapons in the civil war played a huge role in the war. What weapons were better, how fast
could the weapon could be loaded these were all things people had to look at with weapons in
the civil war. There were weapons that you could personally buy or you could just get the
standard weapon they would give you when you to go to war which was a standard musket.so
whos weapons were better? The Minie ball was a huge improvement it was designed to expand
while traveling along the rifle barrel, it increased muzzle velocity as well as causing spin to the
bullet, making its accuracy and range far better. It was made of soft lead, it was a little smaller than
the gunbore, making it easy to load in combat. Many people feel that the reason there were so many
casualties in the war was due to the minie ball. The minie ball was used by both side confederate
and the north, but the north had more ammunition.
Cannons were also a big factor in the war also there were quite a few types of cannons, including
the 6 pounder gun, M1857 12 pounder, 12 pounder Howitzer, 24 pounder Howitzer, 10 pounder
Parrott rifle, 3 inch Ordnance Rifle, and the 20 pounder Parrott rifle. Smoothbore cannon which
were cannons without rifling in the barrel were still used, falling into two categories, guns and
howitzers, for firing at higher trajectories and shorter ranges. There were a lot of swords and sabers
used including, model 1832 foot artillery sword, model 1832 dragoon saber, model 1840 ... Show

used as a weapon in the civil war they were used to spy on the confederates camps, and bases. Then

Data Management And Information Systems
Introduction
With 3.2 billion internet users [1] and 6.4 billion internet connected devices by 2016 [2],
unprecedented amount of data is being generated and process daily and increasing every year.
The advent of web 2.0 has fueled the growth and creation of new and more complex types of data
which creates a natural demand to analyze new data sources in order to gain knowledge. This
new data volume and complexity of the data is being called Big Data, famously characterised by
Volume, Variety and Velocity; has created data management and processing challenges due to
technological limitations, efficiency or cost to store and process in a timely fashion. The large
volume and complex data is unable to be handled and/or processed by most current information
systems in a timely manner and the traditional data mining and analytics methods developed for a
centralized data systems may not be practical for big data.
The paper provides background and related literature on the Big Data, studies the concept from
Relational Database to current NoSQL database which have been fueled by the growth Big Data
and importance of managing it. And surveys the Big Data challenges from the perspective of its
characteristics Volume, Variety and Velocity and attempts to study how those challenges can be
addressed.
This is where NoSQL systems have been created to solve the data management challenges posed
by Big Data. NoSQL is not a single system that can solve every single Big Data problem

Sharon Middle School is very similar to a eukaryotic cell.
First off, they both have a nucleus. The function of the nucleus is to control the cell s day to day

Next, both the school and cells have a mitochondria. The mitochondria turns food energy into
energy the cell can use. The generators, are similar to the mitochondria. The generator take gasoline

Hurricane Andrew Research Paper
Hurricane Andrew is a storm that destroyed South Florida, and the Bahamas, and ripped through
Louisiana, costing as much as 26 billion dollars.
Hurricane Andrew was formed of the west coast of Africa on August 14. When it passed the
Caribbean, the pressure system made it stronger. From there, the wave moved the storm to the
North Atlantic. People had started to leave the area right before the Hurricane started. Schools and
businesses were shut down, it hit Dale County Florida at 5:00 a.m. August 24, and it was high tide
when the waves hit. There was weird lightning streaks of blue greenish colors, and thick streams of
water. Some people said it sounded like bombs were going off. Roofs were no longer to be seen
and windows were broke glass everywhere. The waves surges were up to twelve feet high. High

The waves were still high at 10 feet. The power started going out when the storm was about 40
miles from land and 1.4 million people were without power (Provenzo JR. Provenzo, 2002). It
slammed into the Bahamas at 120 mph. Where buildings were toppled, bungalows out from their
roots, and luxury hotels only had broken winds (Longshore, 1998). Several days before it had
produced a deep convection, that had high pressure (Rappaport, 1993). On August 26, the storm
was getting weaker everyday. A cold front was moving east and downgraded the storm to tropical.
Soon when the Hurricane got to Pennsylvania, the storm faded away. Some people tried to
dismantle their houses to see what was left (Sherrow, 1998). After the storm over, 11 inches of rain
had fallen in Louisiana, and 7 inches in Mississippi (Rappaport, 1998). 275 small planes were no

Food Is Essential For A Person Alive Essay
Food, it is essential to keep a person alive. Without food, one cannot obtain the energy that they
need to perform everyday activities. Fortunately, with today s technologies and the knowledge
that humanity has gained over the centuries, food is a commodity that is plentiful for many
people. However, the bountiful amount of food and easy access to it has caused humans to
become ignorant in how their food is made, grown, and how it gets to their table. Many are also
ignorant to the different categories that their food could be classified as. Such categories are
organic, non organic, GMO s and much more. However, as time moves on, citizens are taking
greater interest in growing their education on what they eat. They are learning about how it is
grown, prepared, and what types are more beneficial for them and their families. Unfortunately,
many get their information from illegitimate sources. These sources being media, un educational
websites, blogs, and many forms of propaganda. The information that the illegitimate sources give
out cause the true information to become censored in a way. Where it is now hard for consumers
to determine, what is the correct information and what is built on lies and opinions. Such example
is the debate between organic, non organic, and GMO s. The media and other sources claim that
organic is much more beneficial for you than nonorganic, and that GMO s and conventionally
grown produce are extremely harmful for you. However, this is not the case at

Proud of Living and Working in Jozi
Proud of living and working in Jozi
We all want to live in cities of which we can be proud. We all want smooth operating public
services, less traffic, new roads, attractive and functional buildings, secure public spaces and wealth
opportunities that can change lives for the better.
So why then do we expect local government and municipalities to do it alone?
Isn t it true that in the 128 year history of Johannesburg, the City reached more milestones than any
other city in the country, even more so than some of the bigger cities globally?
Isn t it true that most of the City s achievements were actioned by government and citizens alike,
working together towards a common goal?
And yet, we still demand and expect service delivery perfection every single day, notwithstanding
how difficult it must be to handle the logistics and mechanics of delivering services to a population
of over 8 million people.
Granted, we all pay taxes so the City can perform these functions, and sometimes it feels as if our
money is being wasted. But surely there is far more to it, like personal reputation, character and
pride?

comprised of a diverse and thriving business ecosystem. Economic developmenthas been essential
in ensuring that Cincinnati has a prosperous economic future. It has urbanized at a much more
rapid pace than most other states. The Uptown area of Cincinnati is one of the most vibrant areas of
the city, including the neighborhoods of Mt. Auburn, Avondale, Fairview, Clifton, Corryville and
Clifton Heights. Sectors, such as health care, have experienced steady growth trends to an extent
that they have become consistent contributors to the economic growth of Cincinnati community.
With one of the lowest costs of doing business in the U.S., Cincinnati has become a global business
center with more than 450 foreign based companies. Economic benefits have resulted from
investment in infrastructure that has generated a sustainable flow of services valued by Cincinnati

High Life Narrative
The year of the bland and the boring, the self conscious and the self righteous battle. The year
that was loser like and lame. During my intermediate school period, I didn t succeed of much. To

about how I was going to invite him to my birthday party, and he would suddenly fall in love.

Approaches to and Types of Genre
Genre is known to change discourse by the format the information is presented to the audience
(Varela, 2008). It is also a category of composition that is characterized by a particular style, form
or content as dictate by Webster Third Dictionary. However Trosborg (n.d) stated that for the past
decade, genreidentification, classification and description have been scholarly concern. Certain
scholars dictate that genre is defined primarily around its basic external criteria such as journals and
newspaperdiscourse while other scholars stand on the opinion that genre can be classify by its
communicative purpose, linguistic content and form of role its play in the discourse made
(Trosborg, n.d).
One of the scholar Swales (1990) stand firmly that the defining criterion for genre is the socio
rhetorical context, the categories defined by the community and communicative purpose. Therefore
there is certain approaches of a genre to be effetively delivered to the audience after taking into
account to what dictate an effective genre.
In this part of the essay, there will be discussion on how the commonly used approach of genre is
utilize for which purpose of discourse. They are, typography, oral, and iconography approach. All
of these approaches of genre usage will be discussed in detail in this section of the essay.
The first type of genre is typography genre which consist of written form of discourse. It includes

Religious Symbols, Rituals, And Metaphorical Language
Religious symbols, rituals, and metaphorical language can be depicted too literally or as the
most important part of the religion. Doing this often distracts from the deeper and true meaning
of the belief. When these objects or practices become the focus of worship, meaning is lost and
changed, creating a cloudy area between what is proper and what is inappropriate for the
religious belief. These objects and rituals are put in place to help us worship, but are not what
we worship. We look at our own religious practices, and assume ours are the proper one to
follow, regardless of the numerous other religions in the world. We are so caught up in our rituals
and religious objects of worship being different from one another, we often miss the fact we all
worship something similar; a god or gods of higher cosmic power. We get so caught up in
representations of our own religion, sometimes we take it out on others who do not believe the
exact same thing we do.
It is not uncommon for religious followers to be intolerant of another s religious beliefs and
practices. It is this kind of negative behavior which leads to exclusivism or excluding others from
certain privileges or treating someone differently because of their religious beliefs. In some
extreme cases, religious beliefs clash in violent ways. There are instances when people lose touch
with the message and end up fighting for the symbol. If someone s religious beliefs clash so
strongly with another groups and one group is so

When he says great filling stations full of money he is talking about how people could get as
much credit as they wanted without really worrying about paying it back. People spent a lot of
money with no regrets or any worries of paying it back or how much they were actually

because it was in such profusion around you (21), he is saying that even when you were poor
you could always find some money to help you out of a tough situation. You could always count

With An Estimated 9.3% Of Americans Currently Living With
With an estimated 9.3% of Americans currently living with major depression or bipolar disorder,
according to the NIMH, the safety of antidepressant drugs is at the forefront of many
pharmaceutical discussions. At present, the most common drugs used to treat the debilitating
lethargy, anxiety, and fatigue often associated with major depression fall into three key categories
based upon mechanism of action: SSRIs, Tricyclics, and MAOIs. Since major depression and

medications are often the best way of relieving the symptoms of these disorders. As with any

Usually, due to the risk of these side effects, tricyclics are prescribed only after SSRIs have
proved ineffective. MAOIs MAO inhibitors (MAOIs) are a relatively volatile class of
antidepressants, which must be taken with utmost care. MAOIs stop the breakdown of NE, serotonin
, and the chemical dopamine in the brain, thereby increasing the availability of all three. Those
taking MAOIs should not consume any foods containing the chemical compound tyramine this
includes foods such as red wine, sour cream, and bananas. The mix of MAOI and tyramine can
cause an acute crisis of high blood pressure, which can lead to a stroke or heart attack. In
addition, MAOIs should not be taken in conjunction with an SSRI, as Serotonin Syndrome can
result. MAOIs are usually reserved for special cases, in which all other classes of antidepressants
have been unsuccessful. Since chemical activity in the brain can fluctuate on a daily basis,
keeping close tabs on your moods can signal the warning signs of severe adverse mood effects,
such as suicidal thinking. Ask your Doctor for a mood chart similar to the Wong Baker Faces

Model Minority Definition
A minority, unless explicitly said otherwise within a situation; pertains to the central idea of a
racial pecking order within the United States that correlates to the non white population groups.
It reflects how gravely the ingrained concepts of racial identity are in our nation s cultural and
social life and to how prevalent this term has brought upon to legal, political, and economic
power and privilege in this country as a standpoint. As the decades and centuries have passed in
our republic, the idea of a model minority has arose and shifted to be in association with Asian
Americans, but it s led to the questioning of why is it always their racial group to be considered
the model or whether the idea itself is even true.

Unfortunately, the idea overall is a myth. While many Asian multiethnic groups like: Asian Indians,
Chinese and Japanese have been successful in receiving upper leveled educational degrees, there
are other groups in the Southeast Asian category, like Cambodians and Laotians who do not look
or pursue for higher education. The myth itself looks past the history as a spectrum, while also
disregarding concepts in relation to immigration. The Immigration Act of 1965 allowed for the
increase in the demography of Asian Americans as well as granted for a greater number of
successful Asian Americanprofessionals who could place a contribution to the American society.
Like other American households, academic success of Asian American students was correlated with
income and educational levels of their parents. The myth also suggests that Asian American
students are over represented in the U.S. higher education, while Asian American student
populations focus in a small percentage of institutions, giving a false impression of the supposed

Lauren Manning Research Paper
Friends, family and faith are all necessities of life, but what humans need the most is the ability to
make the right choices. On September 11 2001, Lauren Manning s life was changed forever.
Though previously she had learned the importance of perseverance and faith, on that day, she
finally knew what it meant and how truly important it was. On this tragic day, Lauren prayed to die
because of the insane amount of pain she was experiencing, but chose to fight for the sake of her
beloved husband and son instead. Even though Manning had not died, more than 80% of her body
was burned and she now faced the challenge of embracing her altered life. Throughout her struggles,
Lauren clung to her inner strength and faith to pass this test of human endurance.... Show more

Throughout her everlasting injury and recovery, someone was always there by her side. From
her sister to her husband to her best friend, she always had a companion with her. Lauren was
extremely lucky and she realized how lucky she was to have such amazing guardians who gave
her endless hope and support. Who knows if she could have made it without her loved ones.
Looking back at her injury, Lauren notes, My guardians my husband, my parents, and my
doctors and nurses helped to prevent death from stealing me, but only by the narrowest margin
(Manning 91). Also, in a recent New York Times article, Elizabeth Pope says, Loneliness is a
risk factor for functional decline and early death in adults over age 60, according to a University
of California, San Francisco study published in July. More than 43 percent of the 1,604
participants reported that they often felt left out or isolated or lacked companionship. These are
two examples that highlight how companionship is essential for one to survive. When one is
going through difficult times such as injuries or illnesses, they need a friend or family member to
be there with them. Many people out there are dying at a young age because of extreme loneliness
and isolation. Humans need each other, especially during times of misery. The amazing people who
surround and care for us everyday are truly important and should never be taken advantage

Small Group Communication In Prison Break
Wither if someone is a child, student or an adult they have been put into small groups at one
point in their lives. For most students, like myself, it is for group projects or classroom activities.
DeVito defines a small group as, a collection of individuals who are connected to one another by
some common purpose, are interdependent, have some degree of organization among them, and
see themselves as a group (pg. 211). Being a part of a small group involves a great amount of
communication to make it successful.
All throughout television and movie productions viewers are able to see small group
communication happen on screen. One way successful group communication was present on
television was through the show Prison Break. Prison Break ... Show more content on

As for the feedforward stage of communication, In Informal social groups, the feedforward may
consist simply of introduction of a topic of conversation or talking about what the group s
members should do (pg. 213). Since Michael is in prison, this would be considered an informal
setting. After he found people he could trust, Michael introduced the breakout plan to his fellow
inmates. The crew consisted of six men, which included himself and his brother. The six men
were all on the same PI (prison industries) crew together. When ever they had to work on a job,
that s when they would talk about their plan. Many of the members were skeptical at first, because
the plan seemed crazy. However, Michael convinced them to join anyway. Once the team was on
board, Michael explained what each member of the team needed to do.
After the second stage was completed, the group moved on to the Business stage of
communication. DeVito explains the third stage as, actual work on the tasks the problem solving
(pg. 213). Michael would tell the inmates what tasks needed to be accomplished in order for the
plan to be successful. He had to delegate tasks, so the mission could actually work. Once he told
his fellow inmates what needed to be done, they negotiated on what they wanted. If the inmates
were going complete jobs for Michael, Michael needed to do some work for them first. For
example, Michael knew one inmate (John Abruzzi) had access to a small plane that

It is because of the huge amount of players that succeeding in this sport is a unique challenge.
While the sport may be easy to learn and to play, attaining mastery may take years. To rise to the

Teamwork and strategy is also an extremely critical part of playing the game, and is as much of a
deciding role for victory as the physical aspect could ever be. Players could run up and down the

think quickly and act quicker. They act and react, and run formations and plans in order to
confound the enemy. If sorely pressed, they may fall into zone defense and man to man defense

A Summary Of Biogenic Te NR
In this study, the characterization of purified Te NRs produced by the Pseudomonas
pseudoalcaligenes strain of Te, as a biogenic source, provided a relatively wide size range of 40
200nm (Fig. 1). The cytotoxity of biogenic Te NRs was compared to K2TeO3 by estimation of the
IC50 value of the PC 12 cell line. The cytotoxicity of biogenic Te NRs was assessed at three doses
of 1, 2.5, and 5 ng/ml with the purpose of evaluating the occurrence of cellapoptosis and possible
underlying mechanisms that take place at the IC50 dose through flow cytometry and investigation
of the expression of caspase 3 proteinby the western blot method in order to confirm flow cytometry

NPs produced by nanotechnology methods have been developed for application in different
pesticides (Nel et al., 2006). Therefore, methods used to manufacture NPs are important criteria.
Due to specific physiochemical properties, NPs may be used as fillers, semiconductors,
opacifiers, catalysts, and microelectronics, and also as cosmetics and drug carriers in
pharmacology and pharmaceutics (Nel et al., 2006). Thereafter, we need to consider risk
assessment, establishment of safety manufacture, and the use of NPs in the marketplace and their
potential toxicity (Nel et al., 2006; Medina et al., 2007). Next, we investigated the underlying
mechanism of biogenic Te NRs induced cytotoxicity in the PC 12 cell line. As shown in Figure 2,
cell viability was reduced in a concentration dependent manner. By increasing the concentration of
biogenic Te NRs, cytotoxicity can be enhanced in PC 12 cells. Significant reduction in rat
hippocampal astrocytes viability was observed in exposure to 1.95 250 ОјM of diphenylditelluride
(DPDT) and 0.97 250 ОјM of TeCl4through MTT assay; lethal concentration (LC50) for both
compounds was estimated at 62.5 ОјM (Roy and Hardej, 2011). Studies have indicated that NPs
may induce cytotoxicity by disrupting the cell structure and cause dysfunction in the cells by
binding to survival macromolecules (Navarro et al., 2008). It has been reported that these toxicities
depend on particle size, surface properties, and then, on cellular uptake of NPs

Rifled Musket Research Paper
Rifled Musket Componenet Overview During the Civil War, rifled muskets were all the rage. The
Rifled Musket was adopted by the U.S. Army in 1858. These new type of muskets had grooves
inside of the barrel, meaning that if this gun was partnered with the MiniГ© ball, it would increase
both the range and the accuracy of the bullet. The smooth bore musket(the previous generation of
muskets) did not have grooves in the barrel. This means that the bullet is not spinning as it exits
and there is a margin of error depending where the bullet exits. This severely reduces the accuracy
of a smooth bore musket. The farther the bullet goes, the more off target it travels because of the
aforementioned margin of error. The MiniГ© ball had grooves and had

Texoil is a two party, quantified transactional negotiation with integrative potential. The owners of
a service station would like to sell their station, and a large oil and gas company would like to buy

sailing trip around the world, while they are still young enough to enjoy such a trip. The oil and gas

4. Ask if revealing didn t make them feel vulnerable. The point of this line of questioning is to help
students discover the kind of information that provides a basis for creating value, (i.e., not
information about bottom line, but about interests and priorities).
5. The question about feeling vulnerable raises the issue of trust. Ask whether trust was established,
and how. Generally, trust results from the process of reciprocal information sharing, and proposals
that are responsive to information shared.
To make the job offer, either the Texoil representative must reveal information about Texoil s long
term strategy, and/or the station owner must reveal plans for a two year sabbatical.
There are a number of other things that can be added to make the bargaining zone overlap,
including health care, oil and gas for the trip, a line of credit for boat repairs, and putting TEXOIL
on the hull or sails.
All of these creative ideas, that create value because they are of low cost to one party and high
value to the other party, require information to be discovered.
6. Which agreements are better than others? We usually do not point out particular agreements, but
speak generally. Better agreements in terms of value creation are ones that have many of the
features listed above. Better agreements in terms of value claiming are ones where Texoil pays
less than $500,000 cash and it gives the job and other items,

The Floundering Expatriate case study provides the right example of problems associated with the

boundaries and they fail to adapt to cultural specifics. We consider that this report will allows
making an analysis that contains discussion on culture and communication issues along with

It is clear that Donaldson has a lack of cultural understanding and sensitivity , for us this means, he
is unaware of the cultural variables that can affect management decisions and he is not realizing
how much he is affecting Waterhouse projects, the company itself, other individual culture and his
leadership is also tainted and a number of sub issues become evident. At the same time Donaldson
never remember or realized that in every culture ( in this case the European) there are different sub
cultures and each one has different morals, goals, traditions, beliefs as well as different ways of
doing business and its expectations and they just conform only in varying degrees the national
culture.
The communication problems caused for the context of the communication were also very
important, because the European staff from Argos was formed by people from different European
countries and in some of them it is considered to have the lowest ranking communication context,
closely followed by other European countries, this means that nothing is implied from the message,
as everything will be clearly detailed. So the higher up the context ranking you go the more
information becomes implicit and if Donaldson would have consider that the multiple choice
survey wouldn t have been inappropriate and Donaldson could have all the required info.

Although they announce that Area 51 does in fact exist, they did not release information stating
what is being hidden at the secret military base. Regarding this, there have been numerous rumors

doctors were bent over the bodies of three creatures (Edwards). Edwards states, there have been

Building A And Country Planning BUILDING A A CATTLE COURT WITH CENTRAL FEED PASS TO HOUSE 100 FATTENING CATTLE 1Contribution made by three of the construction industry professionals Architect John Wink Design Makes sure that the structure is built to design spec in accordance with British standards. Architects are generally good at ensuring the work is professionally done that it meets the requirements of building control and that you have a structural engineer if you need one. The Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1972 requires any one proposing to develop land to first obtain planning permission from the Local Authority. However, in the case of most agricultural buildings, planning permission is deemed to be granted under the provisions of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (Scotland) Order 1992 and express planning permission is not therefore required. Structural Engineer Charles W Pirie A structural engineer designs the overall shed. The person specifies the weight to withstand weather elements such as mass of snow on the roof, making sure the cements deep enough for the pods to sit in and how big the water gutters got to be to take the water. Structural Engineers also produce drawings and specifications, perform calculations, review the work of other engineers, write reports and evaluations, and observe construction sites. First, there are many techniques about nonviolent resistance that are sit ins, which means the patience to harm, protest, that means to disagree about something and walk in the street in peaceful way, boycotts, which means to stop buy something from someone or company, marches, that means to walk with a group of people for a long way, or speeches, which means to talk in front the people. For example, black students wanted to sit in a lunch counter and tried to ordered food, but they were refused, so they left and came back the next day, but they were threated and they got national attention. • 4. Effectiveness Of Phonological Awareness Interventions On... Only one third of students in the U.S. are scoring at proficient levels on reading assessments. The data from 2013 to 2015 has remained relatively unchanged with one exception children with intellectual disabilities reading scores have actually dropped (National Report Card, 2015). The purpose of this study was to determine if evidence based readinginterventions from the Florida Center for Reading Research (FCRR) would increase phoneme blending and segmenting skills in children who have intellectual disabilities. Two 1st grade special education students, ages 6 and 7, participated in an AB research design. Phoneme segmentation fluency and nonsense word fluency assessments (Dynamic Measurement Group, 2011) were completed at baseline and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... IDEA also stated that any alternate assessment must be aligned to grade level standards (Towles Reeves, Kleinart Muhomba, 2009). The research is expanding in the area of evidence based reading interventions to include children who have intellectual disabilities. Phonological awareness is gaining support as a critical element in reading instruction as shown in student performances using targeted intervention measures that align to the student s instructional level and to reading standards (Lemons, Mrachko, Kostewicz, Paterra, 2012). Without explicit instruction in phonologicalawareness, a student will fall short in being able to understand the critical elements needed to read and will only be able to learn by memorization (Shankweiler Fowler, 2004). Based on these statistics, evidence based reading interventions including phonological awareness must be included in reading instruction. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of evidence based reading interventions that align with students instructional level and their achievement in literacy performance for first grade students who have intellectual disabilities (ID). The information presented focused on early literacy development, phonological awareness, intellectual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A new religion, Islam, had emerged to the world at this time now becoming the second most practiced religion of today. Not only this but empires, like the Incan and Byzantine had emerged and were becoming more spread out geographically. New groups of people like the Mongols raided the lands and Europe was exploding with rulers, disease, trade, and religion. Not only was there many important events and dates in this time period but also people. The top five people of this periodization include MuhammadIbn Abdullah, Charlemagne, Zheng He, Chinggis Khan, and Ibn Battuta. This people were very important due to their background, accomplishments, and impact on the world. To begin with Muhammad Ibn Abdullah, was VERY influential in the third periodization. PTSD patients display a shorter period and increased change of the acoustic startle eye blink reflex, significant loss of the normal modulation of the startle reflex, and resistance to habituation of the startle response (Friedman 2000). Fear conditioning is a mechanism that neutral cues associated with a traumatic event acquire the capacity to cause a conditioned emotional response in the absence of the aversive stimulus. Appraisal discussed by Friedman (2000) is a process that evaluate whether a situation is possibly dangerous. Coping, adaptation, and survival depend on the capacity of individuals to assess different situations accurately as pleasant, gentle, challenging or threatening. Costa Rica-Personal Narrative I have had the opportunity to live in both Montana and Costa Rica, both which are synonymous with anything that might encompass the thoughts of adventure, environment and the outdoors. So much so, that their economy is centralized around eco tourism. I always had Glacier National Park, the Bob Marshal Wilderness and Corcovado National Park right at my footsteps do to my father being a wildlife biologist. Around the time I was 6 years old we were living in a small town in the mountains of Costa Rica the towns name was Montverde. I did not have friends or a street to ride my bike, what I had was an imagination that ran wild. We lived in the middle of the clouded rainforest where wild hogs and tapirs would surround the house and even rub their bodies up again the outside of my bedroom, it was not uncommon to come across a recently shedded skin of a boa constrictor or chase out tarantulas the size of a adult s hand from the house. PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF PAPR REDUCTION IN OFDM SYSTEM USING NON LINEAR COMPANDING TRANSFORM ABSTRACT Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing is considered as an advanced communication model which has wide range of applications such as 3G, 4G, and Wi Fi etc. Though orthogonal frequency division multiplexing has lots of advantages over conventional communication models such as FDMA, CDMA still it has some disadvantages in that the major drawback is Peak to Average Power Ratio. In literature several theories are proposed to resolve this issue but none of the algorithm is designed to meet the practical approach. In our work a novel approach is present to resolve the Peak to Average Ratio by introducing the variable slopes parameters K1, K2 and inflexion points A (A 0) and CA (0 C 1) in the probability density functionin the Non Linear Companding Transform Technique then based on the inflexion point and variables parameter analysis, the performances of two incompatible features PAPR and Bit Error rate can be achieved. Selection of Non Linear Companding transform parameters plays an essential role as overall performance, robustness depends on it. The proposed theoretical work results can be view through MATLAB simulations. OVERVIEW Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing is considered as highly successful communication model compares to conventional communication models because of low sensitivity to multipath propagation and eminent spectral efficiency. • 10. Bioinformatics, Identifying an unknown strand of DNA.... Question One: Which type of BLAST search did you choose, and why? The BLAST search that was chosen for this particular sequence was the nucleotide blast, as DNA and RNA are chains of nucleotides. A, C, G and T are the nucleotides that are found in DNA. A, C, G and U are nucleotides that are found in RNA. Nucleotides are the building blocks of proteins. Proteins are chains of amino acids of which there are 20 or so, which are made up of nucleotides. This particular sequence was made up of the nucleotides; Thymine, Adenine, Guanine and Cytosine, therefore, it is a nucleotide sequence, rather than a protein sequence. Question Two: What is the name of the gene? The particular gene is called AF120116. Question Three: 3A What organism... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Question Nine: How many amino acids are there in the entire protein that the unknown sequence codes part of? 401 Question Ten: State why the number of nucleotides that encode the protein is not exactly 3 times the number of amino acids that are translated. The number of nucleotides that encode the protein is not exactly 3 times the number of amino acids that are translated because the numbers in the groups of amino acids is uneven to the amount of nucleotides, meaning that the STOP codon, is translated before the end of the nucleotide sequence. Question Eleven: The protein in which the gene AF120116 encodes is named FtsZ, and is found in prokaryotes. It is structurally related to tubulin, and accumulates at the furrow between dividing cells, playing a crucial role in cell division [1]. The cellular concentration of FtsZ regulates the frequency of division and genetic studies have indicated that it is the target of several endogenous division inhibitors [2]. Only certain protists appear to have retained FtsZ, and the protein is absent from the mitochondria of fungi, animals, and higher plants. [3] Without Ftsz, it appears as though Cytokinesis wouldn t be possible within most bacteria. References [1] Beech PL, Nheu T, Schultz T, Herbert S, Lithgow T, Gilson PR, McFadden GI. • 12. Similarities Between Big Daddy And Daddy Bee Daddy Bee When thinking about civil law we depict a set of interpretation of rules that codify laws that we follow. Lawmakers are typically the essential individuals providing greater explanations of how the law applies. In the films Big Daddy and Bee Movie I was able to analyze a representation of Americas civil law systems with many different concepts. Big Daddy is a film where a man named Sonny Koufax has spent his entire life avoiding responsibility. Then one day his girlfriend dumps him so he decides to find a way to prove that he is ready to grow up. This is the moment when a five year old kid name Julian, comes knocking at his apartment door claiming that he is the father. Nevertheless, Julian is not actually Sonny s kid but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When thinking about these two films we can see how has civil law establish a representation of torts, negligence, product liability, compensatory damages, and many other things that relate to the analyzation of the American civil law portrayed in our media. Torts in the bee movie were very visible. Being able to see that torts are typically application of common law principles that develop over time through the accumulation of precedents raises an awareness of what actually occurs in a case (Berk Lecture, 04/12/17). For example, in the Bee Movie the scene where another bee named Adam Flayman stings an individual named Layton it was not his intention to commit the injury but was still liable for doing so, because there was still someone who got hurt, and in order for there to be a tort there has to be an injury. As a result, having torts provide incentives for good conduct and disincentives for bad conduct, provides compensation, and fairness in the objective over other mechanisms (Feinman,145) Thus said, with Adam committing the injury he has to take responsibility for an action that he did. Focusing on negligence in comparison to torts Big Daddy portraits a comparative negligence for the fact that the plaintiff was at fault. The reason behind this is because Sonny new that keeping the kid was not correct since he was not the legal guardian of the child. Thus in this case shows that Sonny did not assume the risk after taking Julian in as his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. International Institutions, Treaties, And Sanctions Essay International Institutions, Treaties, and Sanctions and Their Effects on International Business International institutions abound in the realm of international business. As globalization increases, disputes multiply. The responsibilities of these organizations can vary due to the needs of its members, such as monetary or trade issues. Moreover, the support these institutions provide may come in the form of various agreements to include the negotiation or enforcement of sanctions and treaties which will either stop or promote trade between nations. International Institutions There are varying types of organizations which monitor or assist with disputes or negotiations on an international level. Some of these factions focus on a more regional area, such as the Free Trade Commission, not to be confused with the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC). According to NAFTAnow.org (2013), the Free Trade Commission watches over the North American Free Trade Act (NAFTA) which took effect in 1994. This agreement, as a result, lifted trade barriers between Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The Free Trade Commission has representatives from all three member nations who implement, oversee, negotiate, and resolve disputes arising from the interpretation of the agreement (About NAFTA | North American Free Trade Agreement, 2013). Pearl Harbor Accuracy Essay Pearl Harbor The movie Pearl Harbor is historically inaccurate because of the fact that it doesn t have a correct order of events, appropriate weaponry and because of it s usage of props that were unavailable at the time. First of all in the movie Pearl Harbor, the actual sequence of events that occured on December 7, 1941 was that the japanese sent two seperate waves of fighter planes to attack the U.S Naval base of Pearl Harbor. (Memorials) However in the movie Pearl Harbor the attack on the naval base was depicted as being just a single wave of japanese fighter pilots. The korean M 80s were invented in around the 1950 s so it could have been around during the attack on Pearl Harbor. • 17. I Naturally And Instantly Chose `` Bohemian Rhapsody `` By... For my song analysis assignment, I naturally and instantly chose Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. This song was the anthem of the 70 s and still, our anthem today. Nothing compares to the harmonies and musicianship put into this song. Queen released Bohemian Rhapsody on October 31, 1975. This song was greeted like a gift from heaven in the largely desolated musical ground of the mid 70s Freddie Mercury is the writer of the song also pianist and a lead vocalist in Queen. He wrote the song in his apartment whilst he was trying to develop a complex song using a structure that leans towards a more classical approach. In the studio, the band embraced the psychedelic and progressive elements (which were initiating throughout this era) and took them to another level. Bohemian Rhapsody was nothing more than their simple their simple instrumental line up of Guitar, Bass, Piano and Drums. However, they played them like they were something completely new and in doing so; Queen delivered a new revolution of rock music. Thrown into the period of glam, it was no surprise when Queen s elegance earned them a glam rocker tag. The title of the song has a powerful ideology. The word Bohemian could be traced to the practice of an untraditional lifestyle. I believe the song has something to do with Freddie coming out as a homosexual. In that era, it was not a normal thing and therefore majority of people were against it. Interestingly enough the song has not got a chorus, but just ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. The Myth Of Dante s Divine Comedy By Harry Potter And The... A Myth is a story that keeps being retold. How is the myth of Glaucus actualized (i.e. what are the new cultural implications at stake) in the first Canto of Paradise of Dante s Divine Comedy? And in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire? ( /2) The Myth of Glaucus begins when Glaucus, a mortal in Greek mythology, becomes immortal by eating a magical herb. When he goes into the water he is then turned into a prophetic god of the sea. This myth is actualized the film, Harry potter and the Goblet of fire, when Harry consumes the Ghillie weed and grows flippers and gills when he jumps into the lake. This transformation is done through magic, rather than a miracle, so it has a magical theme rather than a spiritual one, loosing the religious aspect. The weed Harry consumes in the story is very similar to the one used in the myth of Glaucus showing where the idea of the Ghillie weed came from, and how the transformation is actualized through magic. The myth of Glacus is also actualized in Dante s Divine Comedy when Dante transcends beyond the human kind, and becomes equal to the Gods by looking at Beatrice, similar to how Glaucus used the herb to gain his power. It was made of soft lead, it was a little smaller than the gunbore, making it easy to load in combat. Many people feel that the reason there were so many casualties in the war was due to the minie ball. The minie ball was used by both side confederate and the north, but the north had more ammunition. • 39. Religious Symbols, Rituals, And Metaphorical Language Religious symbols, rituals, and metaphorical language can be depicted too literally or as the most important part of the religion. Doing this often distracts from the deeper and true meaning of the belief. When these objects or practices become the focus of worship, meaning is lost and changed, creating a cloudy area between what is proper and what is inappropriate for the religious belief. These objects and rituals are put in place to help us worship, but are not what we worship. We look at our own religious practices, and assume ours are the proper one to follow, regardless of the numerous other religions in the world. We are so caught up in our rituals and religious objects of worship being different from one another, we often miss the fact we all worship something similar; a god or gods of higher cosmic power. We get so caught up in representations of our own religion, sometimes we take it out on others who do not believe the exact same thing we do. It is not uncommon for religious followers to be intolerant of another s religious beliefs and practices. It is this kind of negative behavior which leads to exclusivism or excluding others from certain privileges or treating someone differently because of their religious beliefs. In some extreme cases, religious beliefs clash in violent ways. There are instances when people lose touch with the message and end up fighting for the symbol. At present, the most common drugs used to treat the debilitating lethargy, anxiety, and fatigue often associated with major depression fall into three key categories based upon mechanism of action: SSRIs, Tricyclics, and MAOIs. Usually, due to the risk of these side effects, tricyclics are prescribed only after SSRIs have proved ineffective. MAOIs MAO inhibitors (MAOIs) are a relatively volatile class of antidepressants, which must be taken with utmost care. MAOIs stop the breakdown of NE, serotonin , and the chemical dopamine in the brain, thereby increasing the availability of all three. Those taking MAOIs should not consume any foods containing the chemical compound tyramine this includes foods such as red wine, sour cream, and bananas. The mix of MAOI and tyramine can cause an acute crisis of high blood pressure, which can lead to a stroke or heart attack. In addition, MAOIs should not be taken in conjunction with an SSRI, as Serotonin Syndrome can result. MAOIs are usually reserved for special cases, in which all other classes of antidepressants have been unsuccessful. Due to specific physiochemical properties, NPs may be used as fillers, semiconductors, opacifiers, catalysts, and microelectronics, and also as cosmetics and drug carriers in pharmacology and pharmaceutics (Nel et al., 2006). Thereafter, we need to consider risk assessment, establishment of safety manufacture, and the use of NPs in the marketplace and their potential toxicity (Nel et al., 2006; Medina et al., 2007). Next, we investigated the underlying mechanism of biogenic Te NRs induced cytotoxicity in the PC 12 cell line. As shown in Figure 2, cell viability was reduced in a concentration dependent manner. By increasing the concentration of biogenic Te NRs, cytotoxicity can be enhanced in PC 12 cells. Significant reduction in rat hippocampal astrocytes viability was observed in exposure to 1.95 250 ОјM of diphenylditelluride (DPDT) and 0.97 250 ОјM of TeCl4through MTT assay; lethal concentration (LC50) for both compounds was estimated at 62.5 ОјM (Roy and Hardej, 2011). The smooth bore musket(the previous generation of muskets) did not have grooves in the barrel. This means that the bullet is not spinning as it exits and there is a margin of error depending where the bullet exits. This severely reduces the accuracy of a smooth bore musket.
