was not really disagreeable to his mother’s suggestion of joining the BB, he simply signed up

MODULE 4 : VALUES, SELF-IMAGE AND SELF-ESTEEM

Case Study 2
Chris iwas always a natural leader in any group he was in. He was always the first others looked
to for leadership. UnsurprisinglySimilarly, his first year in BB was a breeze and he knew that
promotion was going to be swift and sure. He was proven correct when it came to the ?? to
Lance Corporal promotion that year.

However, his confidence took a beating when he was not promoted to cCorporal subsequently.
In fact, he was not even made assistant squad leader. Both set backs were not what he had
anticipated. While the Officer did say that any Boy who felt that his missed promotion was
unfair, the boy could go to see the oOfficer., Chris did not want to because he was afraid that
others might accuse him of being too presumptuous and arrogant. Nobody really knew how
badly he took these setbacks.

promoted? What can he do to improve his self-image?
