This document provides advice from Paul to Timothy on becoming a leader. It discusses being diligent, giving oneself wholly to certain matters, watching one's life and doctrine closely, and persevering in order to save oneself and others. The document then discusses setting SMART goals to develop one's passion. A SMART goal is specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-based. Examples of setting goals for developing a passion for music and comics are provided.

Jimmy feels that he enjoys making music and while he spends quite a bit of time practising on
his guitar, it is all worth it. He wants to be a singer and has already won his friends’ approval.
Each week, he is often roped in to play for the company’s devotion and in fact has appeared
in the finals of various constituency events.
One evening at dinner, his parents told him that he was wasting too much time on his guitar
and he should spend more time on his schoolwork. They told him to give up his next
competition, which is the District Talent time. Jimmy feels trapped since he is the Company’s
representative at that competition.
What can Jimmy do to overcome this obstacle?
What alternative can you propose to him?
Help him to set a goal so that he can develop his passion. Use the checklist to decide if it
is a SMART goal.
