Research Title:
The Effect of Social Media in the
Academic Achievement of Grade 10
Online Learners in the School of
Mauaque High School
Introduction
Background of the Study
Ever since the coronavirus pandemic has taken place globally, almost everything
became online. Classes, shopping, businesses, and other things are done online.
People nowadays rely upon their life in the social media world. This is the “New
Normal” setup. From actual to virtual. But it is an undeniable fact that the internet
community contributed, especially to the student's academic excellence.
Social media is a computer-based technology that facilitates the sharing of
ideas, thoughts, communication, content-sharing, interaction, and information
through the building of virtual networks and communities. The contents include
photos, videos, documents, and even personal information. Some examples of
famous social media platforms are Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, and
YouTube.
Introduction
One of the purposes of social media is to educate. It is helpful in learning
because the topics and ideas that are not comprehensible are one click away. In
just seconds, knowledge and skills are broadened. In terms of learning, YouTube
and Facebook are the most recognized applications. YouTube contributes by
providing videos that can help students in their academic development. While for
the Facebook app, it is primarily used for the communication of students. For
them to share their thoughts and ideas.
The best characteristic of social platforms is their accessibility. It is almost
always available. Via cellphone, computer, laptop and any gadget that is
programmed with internet connection. Some of the content on social media sites
are downloadable. Meaning, if a specific video, photo, or blog is installed on a
device, wi-fi is not necessary to run the files. As long as the gadget has enough
storage or the Read-Only Memory (ROM), it will become easy to access.
Introduction
Significance of the Study
I and my co-researchers decided to give attention to this specific topic for the
reason that it is a significant matter in the present time. We've conducted this
research to determine the impact of social media on the students of Mauaque High
School when it comes to their academic success. We would like to verify whether
if it made a tremendous influence.
Since the significance of social media focuses on educating and communicating,
I expect that our research will make a vast difference to our schoolfellow to
enhance their educational performance. Our experimentation will also serve as a
guide for the students who are struggling to cope up with their schooling.
● How can you resolve the problems of the students
who are struggling to learn through your research?
● How can you prove that social media is an effective
system in order for the learners to excel
educationally?
● Why do the students need to recognize your research
study as essential for them?
Statement of the Problem
In conducting our research, our team brainstormed about the
noteworthy topics, especially during this pandemic. We have realized
that the utilization of social media in a new normal education system is a
subject to consider. Thus, for us to achieve the desired outcome of our
study, we will do a survey and perform an observation.
The subjects in our research study are the online distance learners
from Mauaque High School. We've chosen them as our participants since
they frequently use social media as their means of communication and
education. They are also accessible given the situation that safety
protocols must be observed.

Research Title:
Evaluating the Academic
Performance of the STE Students in
Mauaque High School Modular vs.
Online Learning
Introduction
Background of the Study
The Philippine education system is currently adjusting to the new blended learning model,
as public schools across the country began again on October 5, 2020. Despite requests for an
academic freeze in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, the Department of Education
maintains that education should not be compromised. The COVID-19 crisis, to be precise, has
compelled education systems all around the world to seek out alternatives to face-to-face
classes. To ensure that children's right to education was conserved, education legislators,
school principals, and teachers successfully launched alternatives to face-to-face learning.
Many systems have adopted online teaching and learning on a substantial scale, frequently
in conjunction with widely available remote learning materials like television or radio. In light
of this unpredictability, it's critical to figure out which modality would enhance the
effectiveness of online teaching and learning.
Introduction
Significance of the Study
The primary goal of this research is to assess the academic performance of
Mauaque High School pupils. We want to evaluate their performance across the
newly established learning systems since the aforementioned school supports
modular and online modalities. During the COVID–19 pandemic, the study will likely
examine the factors that influence students' performance and motivation in online
and modular classes, as well as the link between these variables.
● Why do we need to evaluate the academic
performance from both learning platform?
● Is evaluating the performance of the students in this
pandemic important?
● What is the difference of modular and online
learning?
Statement of the Problem
The major research technique for this study is to conduct an online survey and
distribute questionnaires to the participants. We'll offer them a similar exam based
on a module from the same subject and compare their results. That way, we'll be
able to view the outcomes and obtain the data we want. In short, we will compare
their academic performance.
The fewer people you're with, the less likely you are to become infected.
Staying at home also aids in the prevention of the disease spreading to others. Try
to avoid congested areas. As a result, we shall perform the research in each of our
houses for the sake of safety. We will need some modular and online students to
engage in this study in order for it to be effective. Because, as you can see from
the title, our research is focused on them. We won't be able to collect data for our
study without them. They will be our major source of information. We will choose
participants for this study based on their chosen learning method and, of course,
their willingness to participate.

Research Title:
The Effect of Listening to Music to
Students' Mental Health During
Distance Learning in Mauauque High
School
Introduction
Background of the Study
You've been studying every free moment in preparation for that really difficult huge exam
coming up shortly. During your nocturnal, starlit studying sessions, you routinely venture into
the wee hours of the morning, and the hours add up. What if there was a more feasible habit
than spending hours in silence in your bedroom? Countless students listen to music to relieve
stress, improve their mood, and motivate them in their daily lives. Some studies have shown
that listening to music can help you focus on the topic at hand; Students have been studying
while listening to music to lessen stress.
Music is a time-based art form that uses the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and
color to express ideas and feelings in meaningful ways. Does it help them focus on the topic
they are studying? Or is it only a distraction to listen to music while studying? Considering how
the lyrics is the source of the distractions and interferences although this may vary
throughout individuals.
Introduction
Significance of the Study
The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to determine the impact of listening to
music on a student's concentration level. The goals of this study were to see how different
types of music affected student focus and performance, to understand how listening to
music affected student concentration and performance, and to examine individual
perceptions of the function of music in student concentration and performance.
In the student community, listening to music while studying has become common. While
some students believe it would improve their educational efficiency, others, including some
experts, disagree. The study's ultimate goal was to investigate the impact of music on a
student's curricular activities and determine whether or not this trend is advantageous to
students' academic performance.
● How can music help a student to cope up with
his/her mental health issue and academic struggles?
Is evaluating the performance of the students in this
pandemic important?
● What is the significant effect of music to students’
behavior?
● Why do the learners must look after their mental
health?
Statement of the Problem
Listening to music is one of our best hobbies. For the reason that it makes our
mind clear and focused. So, we’ve decided to assess its effect on our mental
health and educational performance.
We will conduct our research via an online survey. Knowing that the
coronavirus pandemic isn’t over yet, we need to adjust to performing our research
study. In the online survey, the participants will be given two separate pieces of an
article with a questionnaire. They will accomplish it with and without the presence
of music. The members that we will choose are from our school at Mauaque high
school. Specifically, the STE students. We will select them since they are the ones
who are the most accessible for us. After the online survey, we are anticipating a
satisfying outcome that will benefit many students.
