THE IMPACT OF INTEGRATING SOCIAL MEDIA IN LANGUAGE
TEACHING AND LEARNING OF KPTM BATU PAHAT STUDENTS
INTRODUCTION
 The use of information communication and Technology (ICT) in the education
especially in the tertiary level is vital.
 the widely use of media technology amongst colleges and universities nowadays
enhance the teaching and learning process
 it is essential for students and teachers to be exposed to the use of social media for
teaching and learning process.
BACKGROUND OF THE RESEARCH
 This research focuses on :-
• the impact of integrating social media in language teaching and learning of KPTM Batu
Pahat students.
• Students’ feedback and perception towards the implementation of social media as tool
of language learning.
• The medium/ types of social media which can facilitate students in language teaching
and learning.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
 Social media has become part of every day life to many people especially for
students and the use of social media among students is higher than others.
 Since there are various results on the role of social media in assisting students
in learning English, thus a study should be carried out in order to determine the
impacts of social media towards in language teaching and learning.
 the study is also important to identify the multiple uses of social media that
facilitates students’ language learning.
The research objectives of this research are:
 to indicate the impacts of integrating social media in language teaching and
learning
 to gauge the students’ perception towards the use of social media during the
teaching and learning process
 to identify the multiple use of social media as a tool of learning that facilitates
their language learning?
RESEARCH OBJECTIVES
RESEARCH QUESTIONS
The research questions of this study are as follows:
 What are the impacts of integrating social media in language teaching and
learning?
 What are KPTM Batu Pahat students’ perceptions towards the use of social
media during the teaching and learning process?
 How students consider social media as a tool of learning that facilitates their
language learning?

INTRODUCTION  The use of information communication and Technology (ICT) in the education especially in the tertiary level is vital.  the widely use of media technology amongst colleges and universities nowadays enhance the teaching and learning process  it is essential for students and teachers to be exposed to the use of social media for teaching and learning process.
  • 3. BACKGROUND OF THE RESEARCH  This research focuses on :- • the impact of integrating social media in language teaching and learning of KPTM Batu Pahat students. • Students’ feedback and perception towards the implementation of social media as tool of language learning. • The medium/ types of social media which can facilitate students in language teaching and learning.
  • 4. PROBLEM STATEMENT  Social media has become part of every day life to many people especially for students and the use of social media among students is higher than others.  Since there are various results on the role of social media in assisting students in learning English, thus a study should be carried out in order to determine the impacts of social media towards in language teaching and learning.  the study is also important to identify the multiple uses of social media that facilitates students’ language learning.

The research objectives of this research are:  to indicate the impacts of integrating social media in language teaching and learning  to gauge the students’ perception towards the use of social media during the teaching and learning process  to identify the multiple use of social media as a tool of learning that facilitates their language learning? RESEARCH QUESTIONS The research questions of this study are as follows:  What are the impacts of integrating social media in language teaching and learning?  What are KPTM Batu Pahat students’ perceptions towards the use of social media during the teaching and learning process?  How students consider social media as a tool of learning that facilitates their language learning?
