RTI is a process implemented in schools in
which varying levels of intervention are
provided for students with learning difficulties.
3. RTI
The students progress is monitored frequently
to determine and document students’
responsiveness to the interventions.
Instructional adaptations are made based on
this information, thus providing information to
assist in the identification of learning
disabilities (Vaughn & Fuchs, 2003; Vaughn &
Klingner, 2007.
4. RTI model
The RTI model is described as three levels or
tiers of instruction.
1. Tier III: Is provided to students who continue
to demonstrate insufficient progress after
receiving the Tier II intervention.
2. Tier II: Additional interventions for students
who demonstrate difficulties in tier I.
3. Tier I: Includes all students being screened at
least 3 times per year, core reading
instruction is planned based on data.
