allowed banks to offer mortgages to more people with the promise that the banks
would get their money back. The FHA finances itself with insurance premiums that

USA housing market any longer. The reason behind my thinking has to do with
the new president we have in the White House. President has come out and said
that he has a new tax reform plan that s supposed to have significant changes not
only to personal taxes but corporate taxes as well. Trump has said that he wants to
lower the corporate tax rate from the current 35% to 20, maybe even 15% which is
great news for corporations but not so great when it comes to Fannie Mae and
Freddie Mac. The reason that this would be bad for these enterprises is because
they are under conservatorship and cutting the corporate tax rate would force these
enterprises to once again need a bailout. Being under conservatorship means that
for every quarter Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac make a profit, they have to pay
dividends to the department of treasury and at the same time they aren t allowed to
rebuild capital but instead their capital base is diminished as time passes which
means that in 2018 they will have not one penny remaining in their capital reserves.
Furthermore, lower corporate tax rates mean that Fannie Mac and Freddie Mac will

Hurricane Katrina was a devastating disaster that has affected many people in New
Orleans as well as the surrounding areas. It had a stunning death toll of 1300 people

down 3 million phone lines and 1,000 cellular towers in Louisiana, Mississippi and

could finish the exercise, FEMA s funding for the simulation was cut before it was

Gay adoption by legal couples has become a rising controversy in the past decade,
affecting the lives of many children and families. Most states allow gays and
lesbians to individually adopt but do not allow them adoption as a legally

couples to adopt (Hopkins). As a result, countless children are left among foster and
adoption agencies.
With thousands of children anticipating adoption, allowing same sex couples to
adopt would decrease these waiting numbers by providing stable homes and families.
Excluding gays and lesbians from the prospective resource parent pool will in turn
eliminate thousands of children from being provided a permanent home (Sioco). The
Children Bureau s Trends in Foster Care and Adoption report completed in 2008
showed that there were 130,000 children waiting to be adopted. These results were

who desire children are also negatively affected. There are countless homosexual
couples that would like to complete their family by adopting one or more children of

loopholes rather than the legal process in order to develop their family, such as one
parent adopting the child rather than the couple. Federal law does not yet recognize
gay marriage, leaving rights to be determined at the state level, often resulting in them
