EFFECTIVE PEEC MODELING OF TRANSMISSION LINES STRUCTURES USING A SELECTIVE ME...EEIJ journal
The transmission lines structures are quite common in the system of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
analysis. The increasing complexities of physical structures make electromagnetic modeling an
increasingly tough task, and computational efficiency is desirable. In this paper, a novel selective mesh
approach is presented for partial element equivalent circuit (PEEC) modeling where intense coupling parts
are meshed while the remaining parts are eliminated. With the proposed approach, the meshed ground
plane is dependent on the length and height of the above transmission lines. Relevant compact formulae for
determining mesh boundaries are deduced, and a procedure of general mesh generation is also given. A
numerical example is presented, and a validation check is accomplished, showing that the approach leads
to a significant reduction in unknowns and thus computation time and consumed memories, while
preserving the sufficient precision. This approach is especially useful for modeling the electromagnetic
coupling of transmission lines and reference ground, and it may also be beneficial for other equivalent
circuit modeling techniques.
Modelling Optical Waveguide Bends by the Method of LinesTELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
A rigorous analytical and semi analytical method of lines has been used to calculate the
transverse-electric field attenuation coefficient of guided mode as it travels in waveguide bends structure.
Both approaches then were compared to get a better understanding on how the attenuation behaves along
single curve waveguides with constant radius of curvature. The Helmholtz Equation in polar coordinate
was transformed into a curvalinier coordinate to simulate the waveguide bends using the method of line
analysis. The simple absorption boundary conditions are used into the method of lines to demonstrate
evanescent field of the guided mode nature as its travels in waveguide bends structures. The results show
that a reasonable agreement between both theoretical approaches.

Development of optical waveguide resonators have greatly expanded and continues to grow since they have kinds potential applications such as wavelength filtering, switching, coupling and multiplexing. One of resonators, coupled waveguides, ring resonators are designed and operated using various coupling configurations. Ring resonators can be particularly used as wavelength filter if the wavelength can fit a whole multiple time in the circumference of the ring. This article proposes to investigate the transmission spectra from the power source and amplify it in linearized ring resonator configurations and varies the input amplitude on five different wavelengths. With finite difference time domain method, the geometry and power source are simulated to obtain the better result and configuration. A new hybrid method for mutual coupling minimization of an antenna array IJECEIAES
In this paper, a simultaneous application of geometric modification on patch elements and electromagnetic band gap (EBG) electromagnetic bandgap structures (hybrid method) has been suggested for 3.5 GHz wireless communication applications, to minimize the mutual coupling between radiating elements of microstrip array antennas. The suggested EBG slotted structure is composed of a one square ring and three squares placed on Rogers RO3010 having 10.2 and h=1.27 mm which presents respectively its dielectric constant and thickness. In this approach, the patch elements are geometrically modified, while also employing EBG structures, formed by four EBG cells, placed between the array elements at a near distance. The modification of the geometry of the antenna and the introduction of EBG reduces the mutual coupling of an array antenna with approximately 33 dB on the one hand and improves the antenna gain by approximately 0.43 dB on the other hand. Initially, slots are introduced in the patch geometry and then four EBG unit cells are inserted between two patches, operating at 3.5 GHz. The antenna array design parameters were optimized.

Design and manufacturing of iris waveguide filters for satellite communicationTELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
We propose in this paper, two bandpass filters in waveguide technology having rectangular symmetrical discontinuities with a half-radius r, designed and operating respectively in the X-Band (9-11.5) GHz and C-Band (3.5-5.5) GHz. These filters consists of eight irises placed symmetrically respectively on standard rectangular waveguides WR90 and WR229 in which resonant irises are inserted. These irises are used to couple the sections very strongly in this filter, which allows the bandwidth to be increased and the matching to be controlled. The comparison between the numerical and electromagnetic results, which we obtained for the filters, constitutes a means of validation of computer simulation technology (CST) environment and Mician for the design of the other circuit elements in the various frequency bands. We observed excellent consistency between the simulation curves and those of the measurements. The results obtained are promising and pave the way for the use of these structures in the fields of telecommunications.
A new approach for impedance matching rotman lens using defected ground struc...journalBEEI
Many recent radar applications and smart antenna are based on the electronically steerable beam in order to increase the performance of targeting the desired scan angle with the high performance of gain and directivity. Scanning angle with ±26o based on Microstrip Rotman lens and design frequency 2.45 GHz is presented in this study. Five beam ports provide five output beams directed the beams in five different scanning angles in the azimuth plane is provided. The traditional matching method by tapering the transmission line in order to guarantee a smooth energy transition from the 50 Ω input ports is replaced by Defected Ground Structure to achieve an acceptable return loss with a linear progressive phase for each beam port. The new approach is providing increasing in the scan angle. Besides, the size miniaturization is achieved by removing the tapering length and reduces the total size of the lens length by 23.67 mm. The proposed model is implemented using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) using the FR-4 substrate and the measurements lead to a good validation.
Effect of mesh grid structure in reducing hot carrier effect of nmos device s...ijcsa
This paper presents the critical effect of mesh grid that should be considered during process and device
simulation using modern TCAD tools in order to develop and optimize their accurate electrical
characteristics. Here, the computational modelling process of developing the NMOS device structure is
performed in Athena and Atlas. The effect of Mesh grid on net doping profile, n++, and LDD sheet
resistance that could link to unwanted “Hot Carrier Effect” were investigated by varying the device grid
resolution in both directions. It is found that y-grid give more profound effect in the doping concentration,
the junction depth formation and the value of threshold voltage during simulation. Optimized mesh grid is
obtained and tested for more accurate and faster simulation. Process parameter (such as oxide thicknesses
and Sheet resistance) as well as Device Parameter (such as linear gain “beta” and SPICE level 3 mobility
roll-off parameter “ Theta”) are extracted and investigated for further different applications.
Modeling of Multilayer Transmission Lines for High-Speed Digital InterconnectsIJERA Editor
In this paper, we consider the finite element modeling of multilayer transmission lines for high-speed digital
interconnects. We mainly focused on the modeling of the transmission structures with both cases of symmetric
and asymmetric geometries. We specifically designed asymmetric coupled microstrips and four-line symmetric
coupled microstrips with a two-layer substrate. We computed the capacitance matrix for asymmetric coupled
microstrips and the capacitance, inductance, and impedance matrices for four-line symmetric coupled
microstrips on a two-layer substrate. We also provide the potential distribution spectrums of the models and
their meshing analysis.
A simple design and fabrication of polarization reconfigurable antenna for in...IJECEIAES
This paper proposes a simple microstrip patch antenna (MPA) that can reconfigure its polarization states from linear to circular polarization in real-time by means of a PIN diode. An antenna is fed by a 50 Ω coaxial cable through the substrate of Teflon with relative permittivity of 2.15. The proposed antenna possesses a simple patch with a one-sided corner truncated to achieve polarization reconfigurability. A PIN diode is loaded to connect the main patch with a truncated corner and further maintain dual polarization states such as linear polarization (LP) and circular polarization (CP). Advanced design system (ADS) was used as a simulator to simulate the antenna, and a good understanding was obtained between simulated and measured results. Measured results showed a good agreement with simulated results at all working frequencies of interest. It shows minimum reflection coefficient gain with -10 dB scattering bandwidth 100 MHz for LP states and 170 MHz for CP states. It also shows an axial ratio of 1.56 dB for CP, and the cross-polarization level is also in a satisfying range.
MICROSTRIP COUPLED LINE FILTER DESIGN FOR ULTRA WIDEBAND APPLICATIONSjmicro
A compact microstrip parallel coupled line filter for ultra wide band applications by means of combining a network of coupled line and defected ground is proposed. The design equations for three and five interconnected networks are derived and implemented. Simulations for three different configurations for filters are optimized. Then three prototype circuits are constructed, a bandpass filter with center frequency 2.25 GHz and two different bandpass filters (in terms of perturbations) with center frequencies 2.33GHz.
For 2.25 GHz circuit wide fractional bandwidth of about 90% is obtained but undesired high return loss existed. For 2.33GHz circuit with grooves in sides fractional bandwidth of about 60% is obtained at about 3.4 GHz center frequency. However undesired return loss existed for this circuit whereas good out off or 2.33GHz circuit with grooves in whole sections the center frequency got shifted to about 3.4 GHz and about 50% fractional bandwidth is obtained with very good out off band performance observed.
Control Radiation Pattern for Half Width Microstrip Leaky Wave Antenna by Usi...IJECEIAES
In this paper, a novel design for single-layer half width microstrip leakywave antenna (HW-MLWA) is demonstrated. This model can be digitally control its radiation pattern at operation frequency and uses only two values of the bias voltage, with better impedance matching and insignificant gain variation. The scanning and controlling the radiation pattern of leaky-wave antennas (LWA) in steps at an operation frequency, by using switches PIN diodes, is investigated and a novel HW-MLWA is introduced. A control cell reconfigurable, that can be switched between two states, is the basic element of the antenna. The periodic LWA is molded by identical control cells where as a control radiation pattern is developed by combining numerous reconfigurable control cells. A gap capacitor is independently connected or disconnected in every unit cell by using a PIN diode switch to achieve fixedfrequency control radiation pattern scanning. The profile reactance at the free edge of (HWMLWA) and thus the main lobe direction is altered by changing the states of the control cell. The antenna presented in this paper, can scan main beam between 18o to 44o at fixed frequency of 4.2 GHz with measured peak gain of 12.29 dBi.
Polarization insensitive switchable metamaterial absorber/reflector for X-ban...journalBEEI
A unit cell of squared shaped polarization-insensitive switchable metamaterial absorber/reflector is presented. The structure operates at 10.20 GHz under both absorber mode and reflector mode configurations. Copper wire bridging the gaps to form a circular shape structure were used as switches for operation mode selections. The structure was designed on an FR4 substrate, and the incidental wave angles were varied from 0 to 50 degrees. The structure demonstrated almost 100% absorption at resonance, 3.314 GHz percentage bandwidth at 80% as an absorber. On the other hand, as reflector, it demonstrated almost a 90% reflection and a usable bandwidth of 3.327 GHz.
Design and Fabrication of the Novel Miniaturized Microstrip Coupler 3dB Using...TELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
In this work, a novel miniaturized compact coupler using the shunt-stubs artificial transimission
lines with high and low impedances is presented. Design of the proposed coupler is accomplished by
modifying the length and impedance of the branch lines in the conventional structure with the planar
resonators in order to achieve branch line coupler with compact size and improvement of the
performances. First part of this work is focusing on the theorical study of the proposed resonators where
the equations are obtained. Secondly, the proposed coupler is designed on FR4 susbtrate, and simulated
by using the EM Solver (ADS from Agilent technologies and CST microwave studio) in order to operate in
the ISM band. The obtained results show good agreement with the simulations and the coupler shows a
good perfo6rmance in the hole bandwidth. The size of the proposed coupler is reduced around 50%
compared to the conventional design. The last part conerns the fabrication and test of the proposed
coupler. The measurement and simulation results are in good agreements.
Radiation beam scanning for leaky wave antenna by using slotsTELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
This paper provides an insight of a new, microstrip leaky wave antenna. It holds the ability to continue steer its beam at a swapping frequency. This is done with acceptable impedance matching while scanning and very little gain variation. Investigation is carried out on LWAs’ control radiation pattern in steps at a band frequency via vertical and horizontal slots. The enhancement is realized by etching horizontal and vertical slots on the radiation element. This study also presents a novel half-width microstrip leaky wave antenna (LWA). The antenna is made up of the following basic structures group’s vertical and horizontal slots. The reactance profile at the microstrip’s free edge and thus the main beam direction is changed once the control-cell states are changed. The radiation pattern direction changes by sweeping the operating frequency between 4 GHz to 6 GHz.The main beam may be directed by the antenna between 15o and 55o. C band achieved the measured peak gain of the antenna of 10 dBi at 4.3 GHz beam scanning range.

BROAD UNEXPOSED SKILLS OF TRANSGENDER ENTREPRENEURSIAEME Publication
Since ages gender difference is always a debatable theme whether caused by nature, evolution or environment. The birth of a transgender is dreadful not only for the child but also for their parents. The pain of living in the wrong physique and treated as second class victimized citizen is outrageous and fully harboured with vicious baseless negative scruples. For so long, social exclusion had perpetuated inequality and deprivation experiencing ingrained malign stigma and besieged victims of crime or violence across their life spans. They are pushed into the murky way of life with a source of eternal disgust, bereft sexual potency and perennial fear. Although they are highly visible but very little is known about them. The common public needs to comprehend the ravaged arrogance on these insensitive souls and assist in integrating them into the mainstream by offering equal opportunity, treat with humanity and respect their dignity. Entrepreneurship in the current age is endorsing the gender fairness movement. Unstable careers and economic inadequacy had inclined one of the gender variant people called Transgender to become entrepreneurs. These tiny budding entrepreneurs resulted in economic transition by means of employment, free from the clutches of stereotype jobs, raised standard of living and handful of financial empowerment. Besides all these inhibitions, they were able to witness a platform for skill set development that ignited them to enter into entrepreneurial domain. This paper epitomizes skill sets involved in trans-entrepreneurs of Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation of Tamil Nadu State and is a groundbreaking determination to sightsee various skills incorporated and the impact on entrepreneurship.

Living in 21st century in itself reminds all of us the necessity of police and its administration. As more and more we are entering into the modern society and culture, the more we require the services of the so called ‘Khaki Worthy’ men i.e., the police personnel. Whether we talk of Indian police or the other nation’s police, they all have the same recognition as they have in India. But as already mentioned, their services and requirements are different after the like 26th November, 2008 incidents, where they without saving their own lives has sacrificed themselves without any hitch and without caring about their respective family members and wards. In other words, they are like our heroes and mentors who can guide us from the darkness of fear, militancy, corruption and other dark sides of life and so on. Now the question arises, if Gandhi would have been alive today, what would have been his reaction/opinion to the police and its functioning? Would he have some thing different in his mind now what he had been in his mind before the partition or would he be going to start some Satyagraha in the form of some improvement in the functioning of the police administration? Really these questions or rather night mares can come to any one’s mind, when there is too much confusion is prevailing in our minds, when there is too much corruption in the society and when the polices working is also in the questioning because of one or the other case throughout the India. It is matter of great concern that we have to thing over our administration and our practical approach because the police personals are also like us, they are part and parcel of our society and among one of us, so why we all are pin pointing towards them.

Developing the rural economy is one of the key indicators towards a country’s success. Whether it be the need to look after the welfare of the farmers or invest in rural infrastructure, Governments have to ensure that rural development isn’t compromised. The economic development of our country largely depends on the progress of rural areas and the standard of living of rural masses. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Rural entrepreneurship is based on stimulating local entrepreneurial talent and the subsequent growth of indigenous enterprises. It recognizes opportunity in the rural areas and accelerates a unique blend of resources either inside or outside of agriculture. Rural entrepreneurship brings an economic value to the rural sector by creating new methods of production, new markets, new products and generate employment opportunities thereby ensuring continuous rural development. Social Entrepreneurship has the direct and primary objective of serving the society along with the earning profits. So, social entrepreneurship is different from the economic entrepreneurship as its basic objective is not to earn profits but for providing innovative solutions to meet the society needs which are not taken care by majority of the entrepreneurs as they are in the business for profit making as a sole objective. So, the Social Entrepreneurs have the huge growth potential particularly in the developing countries like India where we have huge societal disparities in terms of the financial positions of the population. The need to develop social entrepreneurship in agriculture is dictated by a large number of social problems. Such problems include low living standards, unemployment, and social tension. The reasons that led to the emergence of the practice of social entrepreneurship are the above factors. The research problem lays upon disclosing the importance of role of social entrepreneurship in rural development of India. OPTIMAL RECONFIGURATION OF POWER DISTRIBUTION RADIAL NETWORK USING HYBRID MET...IAEME Publication
Distribution system is a critical link between the electric power distributor and the consumers. Most of the distribution networks commonly used by the electric utility is the radial distribution network. However in this type of network, it has technical issues such as enormous power losses which affect the quality of the supply. Nowadays, the introduction of Distributed Generation (DG) units in the system help improve and support the voltage profile of the network as well as the performance of the system components through power loss mitigation. In this study network reconfiguration was done using two meta-heuristic algorithms Particle Swarm Optimization and Gravitational Search Algorithm (PSO-GSA) to enhance power quality and voltage profile in the system when simultaneously applied with the DG units. Backward/Forward Sweep Method was used in the load flow analysis and simulated using the MATLAB program. Five cases were considered in the Reconfiguration based on the contribution of DG units. The proposed method was tested using IEEE 33 bus system. Based on the results, there was a voltage profile improvement in the system from 0.9038 p.u. to 0.9594 p.u.. The integration of DG in the network also reduced power losses from 210.98 kW to 69.3963 kW. Simulated results are drawn to show the performance of each case.

uniplanar and non-uniplanar structures. One of the advantages of the uniplanar
metamaterial structure is its ease of fabrication, as it is a planar structure without the
need for vias. Moreover it can be integrated with the printed circuits board with ease.
2. DESIGN OF PROPOSED STRUCTURE
A 2D planar structure consisting of a conducting patch and a dielectric substrate was
studied [6]. After going through its electromagnetic modeling, it was observed that the
structure exhibit the modified characteristics if the shape of the conducting pattern is
changed.
(a) (b)
Figure 1 (a) Original metamaterial structure and (b) The modified proposed structure
Increasing the length of straight line, can increase the electrical length of the
structure within same volume. The resonant frequency of the proposed structure is
given by [7]:
(1)
where is the capacitance and is inductance offered by the structure. The
capacitances are calculated with the well known formula for parallel plate capacitors
for each parallel meander line:
(2)
where is the permittivity in free space and is the relative permittivity of the
material in between the capacitor plates, is the area of the plates and is the
distance between plates. For the series capacitance , the area = conductor
thickness x 0.24 P, where P is the periodicity in mm.
The inductance between cells consists of the self inductance of the straight
conductor that connects two cells. In order to increase this inductance, the proposed
change of the modification is to alter the geometry from a straight line into a meander.
The sections of the meander each have self inductance and also exhibit mutual
inductance between sections.
The total inductance is equal to the total self inductance plus the positive
mutual inductance and minus the negative mutual inductance :
(3)
The total self inductance is the sum of the self inductances of the conductor
segments:

equal length is as follows:

where is the length in mm and is called the mutual inductance parameter.
3. SIMULATION OF THE ELECTROMAGNETIC STRUCTURE
Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) [8] is convenient for dealing with the
characteristics of metamaterials over a wide frequency band. An important point to
consider when measuring the properties of dielectric materials using plane wave
illumination is the distance between the surfaces of the material under test and the
measurement planes/ports and/or source of excitation [9]. The EMPIRE XCcel
simulation tool is used which is based on the FDTD method. The “Microstrip port” in
Empire XCcel® [10] was used to generate the plane waves used in the simulations in
this work.
3.1. SIMULATED PLANE WAVE VERIFICATION
In order to verify that the plane wave generation source in the simulation tool give a
true Transverse Electromagnetic (TEM) wave, an empty port source is simulated first.
The Perfect Electric Conductor (PEC) and Perfect Magnetic Conductor (PMC)
boundaries are at ( ) and (y=0, y= ) respectively. The Perfectly
Match Layer (PML) boundary conditions are used at each reference plane ( ,
) to minimize reflections from the ports and can be placed in the same position
as the ports, giving a higher accuracy in the S-parameter results. Placing the ports in
the same location as the PML boundary is possible as it has been built in to Empire
XCcel® when the ports are pre-defined as ‘Absorbing’ ports.

measurement.
The ‘P1E’ and ‘P2’ are the measurement and reference planes in the simulations.
The ‘E’ in P1E indicates that the port is excited as it is the source. The blue crosses
(‘X’) indicate where these ports are, while the dashed lines (---) indicate the
measurement/reference planes and in this case coincides with the port positions.
The ‘Dump Box’ is used as a storage box to measure and save the values of the E
and H-fields along any path within the box at pre-defined frequencies. Figure (a)

shows the amplitudes of the three cartesian components of each of the fields at 14
GHz. For a plane wave, the E and H fields are in phase and are perpendicular to each
other and to the direction of propagation. The wave impedance, ƞ in these regions can
be readily obtained by dividing the value of the E field by that of H-filed. This has
resulted in the value near to the well-known wave impedance of free space i.e. 376.99
Ω approximately.
(a) (b)
Figure 3 (a) Variation of electric field components and (b) Variation of magnetic
field components with path length
From Figure 3(a), it is observed that and are close to zero while 94
V/m, and from Figure 3(b), and are zero while 0.25 A/m. So the
impedance obtained within the simulated environment is nearly equal to that of free
space impedance. Similar results are obtained at 12 GHz and 16 GHz. These values
show that the wave generated by the port is a true TEM plane.
3.2. SIMULATION OF THE PROPOSED STRUCTURE
Once the simulation setup for the generation of the TEM wave is done
successfully, now the simulation for proposed metamaterial structure as presented
above is carried out using Empire XCcel® to get the reflection and transmission
coefficients. Sufficient distances had to be placed between the structure and the
measurement (reference) planes to ensure that any “higher order evanescent modes”
that may be present are significantly attenuated before reaching the structure [9]. This
principle is analogous to ensuring the material under test is exposed to a plane wave
from a source of radiation by placing it in the far-field of the source. The simulation
window for the structure with microstrip line that support the TEM in Empire
XCcel® is shown in figure 2(b). Depending on the maximum width, or height, of
the microstrip line (MSL), whichever is greater, a cut-off frequency point is reached
after which spurious resonances occur and any results after this point are not fit for
use in the extraction calculations or at worst, completely inaccurate. This frequency is
given by:
(6)
where, is the speed of light in free space, ≈ m/s. However, due to the
fact that the PEC and PMC boundaries on the z- and y-axes providing a symmetry
(mirror) plane reproducing an infinite structure, the cross-section of the MSL can be
made as small as necessary to increase the cut-off frequency and so that accurate
higher frequency results are possible.

3.3. SIMULATED REFLECTION AND TRANSMISSION
COEFFICIENTS
In general the S-parameters are designated by , where m is the receiver port and n
is the source port. For example, , is the transmission coefficient for a wave sourced
at port 2 and received at port 1. These ratios are complex-valued, and the S-parameter
will carry both a magnitude and phase component as a function of frequency. The
simulated reflection and transmissions coefficients in the presence of the proposed
metamaterial structure are shown in figure 4. The dotted line indicates the
transmission coefficient and the solid line indicate the reflection coefficients.

proposed metamaterial structure
4. EFFECTIVE PARAMETER EXTRACTION OF THE
METAMATERIAL STRUCTURE
A Matlab code available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/effmetamatparam/files/ has
been modified to extract the metamaterial parameters. The simulated reflection and
transmission coefficients for the proposed metamaterial structure indicating the
stopband are shown in figure 5(a). The stopband can be seen at 5.5 – 12 GHz. The
EM waves with a frequency inside the forbidden band cannot propagate through the
material. The simulated reflection and transmission phase for the proposed
metamaterial structure are shown in figure 5(b). The extracted effective permittivity
and effective permeability of the proposed metamaterial structure are shown in figure
6(a) and 6(b) respectively. This indicates that the proposed structure exhibits Double
Negative (DNG) characteristics.

5. PROTOTYPING WORK
To validate the simulated results, prototyping of the proposed planar structure is done
using a CNC machine and experiment is carried out using the vector network
analyzer. Computer aided design is created with the help of EMPIRE XCcel software.
The layout was exported to the GERBER file format and then imported in the PCAM
software to generate the layers of the prototype of the metamaterial’s structure.
PCAM software is executed to run the prototyping machine. The fabricated
metamaterial structure is shown in figure 7(a) and 7(b). The top view is showing the
copper patches and meander lines. The back view is showing the dielectric substrate.

The Network Analyzer (NA) is used to measure the S-parameters. In practice, a
NA will generally measure the incident and reflected waves through a series of
couplers or bridges, referred to as directional devices [11]. The directional device is
able to separate the incident from reflected waves. Using this measurement practice,
the resulting measurements will be quantities that are subject to imperfections of the
NA, such as the coupling factor and directivity of the directional devices. Thus, more
complicated calculations are needed in order to determine calibrated S-parameters
starting from a set of raw quantities. The measured and simulated results are in
agreement. The small deviations are due to the limitations of the fixture structure used

to hold the proposed structure. Moreover the extracted parameters from the measured
transmission and reflection coefficients are also found to be in fair agreement.

6. CONCLUSION
In recent years, the search for artificial materials i.e. electromagnetic structures,
specifically metamaterials has attracted world wide interest from researchers due to
their applications in radio frequency/ microwave components. So, designing a
meandered line metamaterial structure with negative permittivity and permeability is a
good attempt in this field due to ease of fabrication with the printed circuit board. The
parameters associated with the proposed metamaterial structure were retrieved from
the S-parameters. The S-parameters describe the magnitude and phase relationship
between incident and reflected waves and are numbered according to where a wave
originates from and where it propagating to.
