Why does the SBCUSD need a
mobile smoothie truck?
The San Bernardino City Unified School District can
greatly benefit from mobile smoothie trucks in the local
high schools because:
1. Organic, healthy smoothies are a healthier beverage
choice
2. Students will have different flavor options with the
smoothies vs. milk or water
3.The smoothie truck will informally provide education on
health while serving to students
4. A percentage of the smoothie truck’s earnings will go back
to the school district for funding.

How Teachers Can Provide Health
Education
Regardless of the subject taught, all teachers can lend a helping
hand in their students’ health education.
PE teachers, especially, should be incorporating actual health and
fitness education
Explaining the importance of running vs. running for a grade
Level of activity vs. total time of activity
Teachers need to focus on requiring vigorous activity rather than the
amount of time spent on an activity.
Science teachers can also integrate health education in their

Conclusion
Overall, a third of American children and adolescents are
considered overweight or obese.
My mobile smoothie truck will provide high school students a
healthy and more delicious alternative to the provided
beverages.
We need to raise awareness to the lack of health education in
our local high schools.
