Data gathering in wireless sensor networks using intermediate nodesIJCNCJournal
Energy consumption is an essential concern to Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs).The major cause of the energy consumption in WSNs is due to the data aggregation. A data aggregation is a process of collecting data from sensor nodes and transmitting these data to the sink node or base station. An effective way to perform such a task is accomplished by using clustering. In clustering, nodes are grouped into clusters where a number of nodes, called cluster heads, are responsible for gathering data from other nodes, aggregate them and transmit them to the Base Station (BS).
In this paper we produce a new algorithm which focused on reducing the transmission bath between sensor nodes and cluster heads. A proper utilization and reserving of the available power resources is achieved with this technique compared to the well-known LEACH_C algorithm.

Wireless sensor network consists of several distributed sensor nodes. It is used for several environmental applications, military applications and health related applications. To prolong the lifetime of the sensor nodes, designing efficient routing protocols is critical. Most of the research in energy efficient data gathering in data centric applications of wireless sensor networks is motivated by LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) scheme. It allows the rotation of cluster head role among the sensor nodes and tries to distribute the energy consumption over the network. Selection of sensor node for such role rotations greatly affects the energy efficiency of the network. Some of the routing protocol has a drawback that the cluster is not evenly distributed due to its randomized rotation of local cluster head. We have surveyed several existing methods for selecting energy efficient cluster head in wireless sensor networks. We have proposed an energy efficient cluster head selection method in which the cluster head selection and replacement cost is reduced and ultimately the network lifetime is increased. Using our proposed method, network life time is increased compared to existing methods. Keywords: WSN, CH, BS, LEACH, LEACH-B, LEACH-F
Optimized Cluster Establishment and Cluster-Head Selection Approach in WSNIJCNCJournal
In recent years, limited resources of user products and energy-saving are recognized as the major challenges of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Clustering is a practical technique that can reduce all energy consumption and provide stability of workload that causes a larger difference in energy depletion among other nodes and cluster heads (CHs). In addition, clustering is the solution of energy-efficient for maximizing the network longevity and improvising energy efficiency. In this paper, a novel OCE-CHS (Optimized Cluster Establishment and Cluster-Head Selection) approach for sensor nodes is represented to improvise the packet success ratio and reduce the average energy-dissipation. The main contribution of this paper is categorized into two processes, first, the clustering algorithm is improvised that periodically chooses the optimal set of the CHs according to the speed of the average node and average-node energy. This is considerably distinguished from node-based clustering that utilizes a distributed clustering algorithm to choose CHs based on the speed of the current node and remaining node energy. Second, more than one factor is assumed for the detached node to join the optimal cluster. In the result section, we discuss our clustering protocols implementation of optimal CH-selection to evade the death of SNs, maximizing throughput, and further improvise the network lifetime by minimizing energy consumption.

An Improved Energy Efficient Wireless Sensor Networks Through Clustering In C...Editor IJCATR
One of the major reason for performance degradation in Wireless sensor network is the overhead due to control packet and packet delivery degradation. Clustering in cross layer network operation is an efficient way manage control packet overhead and which ultimately improve the lifetime of a network. All these overheads are crucial in a scalable networks. But the clustering always suffer from the cluster head failure which need to be solved effectively in a large network. As the focus is to improve the average lifetime of sensor network the cluster head is selected based on the battery life of nodes. The cross-layer operation model optimize the overheads in multiple layer and ultimately the use of clustering will reduce the major overheads identified and their by the energy consumption and throughput of wireless sensor network is improved. The proposed model operates on two layers of network ie., Network Layer and Transport Layer and Clustering is applied in the network layer . The simulation result shows that the integration of two layers reduces the energy consumption and increases the throughput of the wireless sensor networks.

One of the most important issues in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is severe energy restrictions. As the
performance of Sensor Networks is strongly dependence to the network lifetime, researchers seek a way to
use node energy supply effectively and increasing network lifetime. As a consequence, it is crucial to use
routing algorithms result in decrease energy consumption and better bandwidth utilization. The purpose of

DESIGNING AN ENERGY EFFICIENT CLUSTERING IN HETEROGENEOUS WIRELESS SENSOR NET...IJCNCJournal
Designing an energy-efficient scheme in a Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Network (HWSN) is a critical
issue that degrades the network performance. Recharging and providing security to the sensor devices is
very difficult in an unattended environment once the energy is drained off. A Clustering scheme is an
important and suitable approach to increase energy efficiency and transmitting secured data which in turn
enhances the performance in the network. The proposed algorithm Energy Efficient Clustering (EEC)
works for optimum energy utilization in sensor nodes. The algorithm is proposed by combining the
rotation-based clustering and energy-saving mechanism for avoiding the node failure and prolonging the
network lifetime. This shows MAC layer scheduling is based on optimum energy utilization depending on
the residual energy. In the proposed work, a densely populated network is partitioned into clusters and all
the cluster heads are formed at a time and selected on rotation based on considering the highest energy of
the sensor nodes. Other cluster members are accommodated in a cluster based on Basic Cost Maximum
flow (BCMF) to allow the cluster head for transmitting the secured data. Carrier Sense Multiple Access
(CSMA), a contention window based protocol is used at the MAC layer for collision detection and to
provide channel access prioritization to HWSN of different traffic classes with reduction in End to End
delay, energy consumption, and improved throughput and Packet delivery ratio(PDR) and allowing the
cluster head for transmission without depleting the energy. Simulation parameters of the proposed system
such as Throughput, Energy, and Packet Delivery Ratio are obtained and compared with the existing

ENERGY EFFICIENT GRID AND TREE BASED ROUTING PROTOCOLijwmn
In Wireless Sensor Network, a large number of sensor nodes are deployed and they mainly consume energy
in transmitting data over long distances. Sensor nodes are battery powered and their energy is restricted.
Since the location of the sink is remote, considerable energy would be consumed if each node directly
transmits data to the base station. Aggregating data at the intermediate nodes and transmitting using multihops
aids in reducing energy consumption to a great extent. This paper proposes a hybrid protocol
“Energy efficient Grid and Tree based routing protocol” (EGT) in which the sensing area is divided into
grids. The nodes in the grid relay data to the cell leader which aggregates the data and transmits to the
sink using the constructed hop tree. Simulation results show that EGT performs better than LEACH.

Wireless sensor networks consist of hundreds or thousands of nodes with limited energy. Since the life time

Clustering has been proposed as a strategy to extend the lifetime of wireless sensor networks. Cluster size,
number of Cluster head per cluster and the selection of cluster head are considered as important factors in
clustering. In this research by studying LEACH algorithm and optimized algorithms of this protocol and by
evaluating the strengths and weaknesses, a new algorithm based on hierarchical clustering to increase the
lifetime of the sensor network is proposed. In this study, with a special mechanism the environment of
network is layered and the optimal number of cluster head in each layer is selected and then recruit for the
formation of clusters in the same layer by controlling the topology of the clusters is done independently.
Then the data is sent through the by cluster heads through the multi- stage to the main station. Simulation
results show that the above mentioned method increases the life time about 70% compared to the LEACH.

Energy aware clustering protocol (eacp)IJCNCJournal
Energy saving to prolong the network life is an important design issue while developing a new routing
protocol for wireless sensor network. Clustering is a key technique for this and helps in maximizing the
network lifetime and scalability. Most of the routing and data dissemination protocols of WSN assume a
homogeneous network architecture, in which all sensors have the same capabilities in terms of battery
power, communication, sensing, storage, and processing. Recently, there has been an interest in
heterogeneous sensor networks, especially for real deployments. This research paper has proposed a new
energy aware clustering protocol (EACP) for heterogeneous wireless sensor networks. Heterogeneity is
introduced in EACP by using two types of nodes: normal and advanced. In EACP cluster heads for normal
nodes are elected with the help of a probability scheme based on residual and average energy of the
normal nodes. This will ensure that only the high residual normal nodes can become the cluster head in a
round. Advanced nodes use a separate probability based scheme for cluster head election and they will
further act as a gateway for normal cluster heads and transmit their data load to base station when they
are not doing the duty of a cluster head. Finally a sleep state is suggested for some sensor nodes during
cluster formation phase to save network energy. The performance of EACP is compared with SEP and
simulation result shows the better result for stability period, network life and energy saving than SEP.

Abstract In this project, we presented Multipath Region Routing (MRR) protocol for energy conservation in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Large scale dense WSNs are used in different types of applications for accurate monitoring. Energy conservation is an important issue in WSNs. In order to save energy, Multipath Region Routing protocol is used which provides balance in energy consumption and sustains the network life-span. By using this method, we can reduce the number of energy dissipation because the cluster head will collect data directly from other nodes. Hence, the energy can be preserved and network life time is extended to reasonable time. Keywords: Clustering; Wireless Sensor Networks; Security; Multipath Region Routing;

In this paper, a three-layer framework is proposed for mobile data collection in wireless sensor networks, which includes the sensor layer, cluster head layer, and mobile collector (called SenCar) layer.
A three-layer framework is proposed for mobile data collection in wireless sensor networks, which includes the sensor layer, cluster head layer, and mobile collector (called SenCar) layer. The framework employs distributed load balanced clustering and dual data uploading, which is referred to as LBC-MIMO. The objective is to achieve good scalability, long network lifetime and low data collection latency. At the sensor layer, a distributed load balanced clustering (LBC) algorithm is proposed for sensors to self-organize themselves into clusters. In contrast to existing clustering methods, our scheme generates multiple cluster heads in each cluster to balance the work load and facilitate dual data uploading. At the cluster head layer, the inter-cluster transmission range is carefully chosen to guarantee the connectivity among the clusters. Multiple cluster heads within a cluster cooperate with each other to perform energy-saving inter-cluster communications. Through inter-cluster transmissions, cluster head information is forwarded to SenCar for its moving trajectory planning. At the mobile collector layer, SenCar is equipped with two antennas, which enables two cluster heads to simultaneously upload data to SenCar in each time by utilizing multi-user multiple-input and multiple-output (MU-MIMO) technique. The trajectory planning for SenCar is optimized to fully utilize dual data uploading capability by properly selecting polling points in each cluster. By visiting each selected polling point, SenCar can efficiently gather data from cluster heads and transport the data to the static data sink. Extensive simulations are conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed LBC-MIMO scheme. The results show that when each cluster has at most two cluster heads, LBC-MIMO achieves over 50 percent energy saving per node and 60 percent energy saving on cluster heads comparing with data collection through multi-hop relay to the static data sink, and 20 percent shorter data collection time compared to traditional mobile data gathering.

Abstract In this project, we presented Multipath Region Routing (MRR) protocol for energy conservation in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Large scale dense WSNs are used in different types of applications for accurate monitoring. Energy conservation is an important issue in WSNs. In order to save energy, Multipath Region Routing protocol is used which provides balance in energy consumption and sustains the network life-span. By using this method, we can reduce the number of energy dissipation because the cluster head will collect data directly from other nodes. Hence, the energy can be preserved and network life time is extended to reasonable time. Keywords: Clustering; Wireless Sensor Networks; Security; Multipath Region Routing;

Review on Clustering and Data Aggregation in Wireless Sensor NetworkEditor IJCATR
Wireless Sensor Network is a collection of various sensor nodes with sensing and communication capabilities. Clustering is the
process of grouping the set of objects so that the objects in the same group are similar to each other and different to objects in the other
group. The main goal of Data Aggregation is to collect and aggregate the data by maintaining the energy efficiency so that the network
lifetime can be increased. In this paper, I have presented a comprehensive review of various clustering routing protocols for WSN, their
advantages and limitation of clustering in WSN. A brief survey of Data Aggregation Algorithm is also outlined in this paper. Finally, I

CBHRP: A Cluster Based Routing Protocol for Wireless Sensor NetworkCSEIJJournal
A new two layer hierarchical routing protocol called Cluster Based Hierarchical Routing Protocol
(CBHRP) is proposed in this paper. It is an extension of LEACH routing protocol. We introduce cluster
head-set idea for cluster-based routing where several clusters are formed with the deployed sensors to
collect information from target field. On rotation basis, a head-set member receives data from the neighbor
nodes and transmits the aggregated results to the distance base station. This protocol reduces energy
consumption quite significantly and prolongs the life time of sensor network. It is found that CBHRP
performs better than other well accepted hierarchical routing protocols like LEACH in term of energy
consumption and time requirement.

Designing an Energy Efficient Clustering in Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Net...IJCNCJournal
Designing an energy-efficient scheme in a Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Network (HWSN) is a critical issue that degrades the network performance. Recharging and providing security to the sensor devices is very difficult in an unattended environment once the energy is drained off. A Clustering scheme is an important and suitable approach to increase energy efficiency and transmitting secured data which in turn enhances the performance in the network. The proposed algorithm Energy Efficient Clustering (EEC) works for optimum energy utilization in sensor nodes. The algorithm is proposed by combining the rotation-based clustering and energy-saving mechanism for avoiding the node failure and prolonging the network lifetime. This shows MAC layer scheduling is based on optimum energy utilization depending on the residual energy. In the proposed work, a densely populated network is partitioned into clusters and all the cluster heads are formed at a time and selected on rotation based on considering the highest energy of the sensor nodes. Other cluster members are accommodated in a cluster based on Basic Cost Maximum flow (BCMF) to allow the cluster head for transmitting the secured data. Carrier Sense Multiple Access (CSMA), a contention window based protocol is used at the MAC layer for collision detection and to provide channel access prioritization to HWSN of different traffic classes with reduction in End to End delay, energy consumption, and improved throughput and Packet delivery ratio(PDR) and allowing the cluster head for transmission without depleting the energy. Simulation parameters of the proposed system such as Throughput, Energy, and Packet Delivery Ratio are obtained and compared with the existing system.

Data collection algorithm for wireless sensor networks using collaborative mo...IJECEIAES
The simplest approach to reduce network latency for data gathering in wireless sensor networks (WSN) is to use multiple mobile elements rather than a single mobile sink. However, the most challneging issues faced this approach are firstly the high network cost as a result of using large number of mobile elements. Secondly, it suffers from the difficulty of network partitioning to achieve an efficient load balancing among these mobile elements. In this study, a collaborative data collection algorithm (CDCA) is developed. Simulation results presented in this paper demonstrated that with this algorithm the latency is significantly reduced at small number of mobile elements. Furthermore, the performance of CDCA algorithm is compared with the Area Splitting Algorithm (ASA). Consequently, the CDCA showed superior performance in terms of network latency, load balancing, and the required number of mobile elements.

This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!

Mobile data gathering with load balanced
1. Mobile Data Gathering with Load Balanced Clustering and
Dual Data Uploading in Wireless Sensor Networks
ABSTRACT:
In this paper, a three-layer framework is proposed for mobile data collection in
wireless sensor networks, which includes the sensor layer, cluster head layer, and
mobile collector (called SenCar) layer. The framework employs distributed load
balanced clustering and dual data uploading, which is referred to as LBC-DDU.
The objective is to achieve good scalability, long network lifetime and low data
collection latency. At the sensor layer, a distributed load balanced clustering (LBC)
algorithm is proposed for sensors to self-organize themselves into clusters. In
contrast to existing clustering methods, our scheme generates multiple cluster
heads in each cluster to balance the work load and facilitate dual data uploading.
At the cluster head layer, the inter-cluster transmission range is carefully chosen to
guarantee the connectivity among the clusters. Multiple cluster heads within a
cluster cooperate with each other to perform energy-saving inter-cluster
communications. Through inter-cluster transmissions, cluster head information is
forwarded to SenCar for its moving trajectory planning. At the mobile collector
layer, SenCar is equipped with two antennas, which enables two cluster heads to
simultaneously upload data to SenCar in each time by utilizing multi-user multiple-
input and multiple-output (MU-MIMO) technique. The trajectory planning for
2. SenCar is optimized to fully utilize dual data uploading capability by properly
selecting polling points in each cluster. By visiting each selected polling point,
SenCar can efficiently gather data from cluster heads and transport the data to the
static data sink. Extensive simulations are conducted to evaluate the effectiveness
of the proposed LBC-DDU scheme. The results show that when each cluster has at
most two cluster heads, LBC-DDU achieves over 50 percent energy saving per
node and 60 percent energy saving on cluster heads comparing with data collection
through multi-hop relay to the static data sink, and 20 percent shorter data
collection time compared to traditional mobile data gathering.
EXISTING SYSTEM:
Several approaches have been proposed for efficient data collection in the
literature. Based on the focus of these works, we can roughly divide them
into three categories.
The first category is the enhanced relay routing, in which data are relayed
among sensors. Besides relaying, some other factors, such as load balance,
schedule pattern and data redundancy, are also considered.
The second category organizes sensors into clusters and allows cluster heads
to take the responsibility for forwarding data to the data sink. Clustering is
particularly useful for applications with scalability requirement and is very
3. effective in local data aggregation since it can reduce the collisions and
balance load among sensors.
The third category is to make use of mobile collectors to take the burden of
data routing from sensors.
DISADVANTAGES OF EXISTING SYSTEM:
In relay routing schemes, minimizing energy consumption on the forwarding
path does not necessarily prolong network lifetime, since some critical
sensors on the path may run out of energy faster than others.
In cluster-based schemes, cluster heads will inevitably consume much more
energy than other sensors due to handling intra-cluster aggregation and inter-
cluster data forwarding.
Though using mobile collectors may alleviate non-uniform energy
consumption, it may result in unsatisfactory data collection latency.
PROPOSED SYSTEM:
We propose a three-layer mobile data collection framework, named Load
Balanced Clustering and Dual Data Uploading (LBC-DDU).
The main motivation is to utilize distributed clustering for scalability, to
employ mobility for energy saving and uniform energy consumption, and to
exploit Multi-User Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output (MU-MIMO)
4. technique for concurrent data uploading to shorten latency. The main
contributions of this work can be summarized as follows.
First, we propose a distributed algorithm to organize sensors into clusters,
where each cluster has multiple cluster heads.
Second, multiple cluster heads within a cluster can collaborate with each
other to perform energy efficient inter-cluster transmissions.
Third, we deploy a mobile collector with two antennas (called SenCar in this
paper) to allow concurrent uploading from two cluster heads by using MU-
MIMO communication. The SenCar collects data from the cluster heads by
visiting each cluster. It chooses the stop locations inside each cluster and
determines the sequence to visit them, such that data collection can be done
in minimum time.
ADVANTAGES OF PROPOSED SYSTEM:
In contrast to clustering techniques proposed in previous works, our
algorithm balances the load of intra-cluster aggregation and enables dual
data uploading between multiple cluster heads and the mobile collector.
Different from other hierarchical schemes, in our algorithm, cluster heads do
not relay data packets from other clusters, which effectively alleviates the
burden of each cluster head. Instead, forwarding paths among clusters are
5. only used to route small-sized identification (ID) information of cluster
heads to the mobile collector for optimizing the data collection tour.
Our work mainly distinguishes from other mobile collection schemes in the
utilization of MUMIMO technique, which enables dual data uploading to
shorten data transmission latency. We coordinate the mobility of SenCar to
fully enjoy the benefits of dual data uploading, which ultimately leads to a
data collection tour with both short moving trajectory and short data
uploading time.
