You will also see a place to create an
account. It is advisable to set up an
account before getting started. It
makes it easy to save your work.
Once a project has been started and
saved, you can always revisit it by
opening the saved project.

6. Take advantage of a series of pre-masked
images and select a photo that closely
resembles your home

7. There are 6 pre-masked
areas: Window, Siding,
Entry Door, Shutter, Trim,
and Roofing.
You may select generic
options such as roofing or
brick colour to complete
your look.
Click on an area of the home to
add product

8. If you want a more tailored look, you can upload a photo of your actual home
instead of using one of the sample projects. There are a few more steps involved in
this process.
If all you want to do is select products from a custom pre-masked image, for a small
fee, Mitten will prepare your home’s photo. Just upload and pay at the website, and
you will receive a link to your home’s masked image.
To work with your own photo, you will have to first prepare it by masking the product
sections that you plan to modify. You may just want to focus on windows and a new
front door, or all of the possibilities. It’s really all up to you.

There are a couple of steps required before you can start to design your home.
You will draw or mask where you want to modify product and group them.
For example, there are 5 windows that will likely have the same style here.

Under the “2. Group” tab, click
each layer you want to have
the same product shown on.
Example – all siding layers are
grouped

Go to the “3. Design” tab. You
can now begin to add product
to selected layers

list of manufacturers and their

Choose your material, product
type, profile, and colour via the
left side menu

selecting different product
options through each tab
Choose your desired frame
colour, grill type, grill pattern, and
brickmould.
Use the “Summary” tab to view
all your selections.
