Middleware allows processes running on different machines to communicate across a network and is essential for migrating mainframe applications to client-server architectures and enabling communication between heterogeneous platforms. An effective testing approach includes unit testing by developers, integration testing of program interfaces by developers and independent testers, and system testing of full system requirements and performance by independent testers to ensure acceptance by end users.

OVERVIEW
Designing for the Web has become increasingly complex; the rise of HTML5 web apps, responsive design, adaptive design, etc. has made static mock-ups redundant and the trend toward lean and agile development methodologies can create a hostile environment for designers who are often left feeling rushed, disorganized and overwhelmed.
But there is hope.
Many new tools are now available to deal with designing in this dynamic landscape. Mike Costanzo will look at some and evaluate the advantages and limitations of each while discussing how they can be integrated into the workflow. These tools not only allow for faster design but also facilitate rapid iteration, concept evaluation and the creation of clear deliverables to distribute to product owners and team members, in turn, leaving more time to design a holistic product.

Software quality factor
McCall identified 11 factors in 1978 that can be used to develop software quality metrics by measuring attributes of a software product during its operation, revisions, and transitions between environments. The factors relate to correctness, reliability, efficiency, integrity, usability during operation, and maintainability, flexibility, and testability during revisions. Additional factors include portability, reusability, and interoperability. Measuring these factors allows the quality of software that is in use to be inferred based on observable attributes.
Qms
A quality management system (QMS) is a formalized system that documents processes, procedures, and responsibilities for achieving quality policies and objectives. It involves three main activities: quality assurance which develops organizational standards, quality planning which selects and modifies standards for specific projects, and quality control which ensures best practices are followed to produce quality products.
This model classifies 11 software quality factors into three categories: product operation factors like correctness and reliability, product revision factors like maintainability and testability, and product transition factors like portability and reusability. These factors determine requirements for the software system's output, failure rate, efficiency, security, usability, and adaptability.

- 1. Middleware is the connectivity software that consists of a set of enabling services that allow multiple processes running on one or more machines to interact across a network. Middleware is essential to migrating mainframe applications to client/server applications and to providing for communication across heterogeneous platforms. The testing approach consists of planning and monitoring the software testing efforts at the various testing levels: • The unit testing should be performed by the developers. Integration testing involves testing the program units and their interfaces brought together. Integration testing should be planned at the design phase and should be accomplished with an appropriate balance of developers with design knowledge and independent testers with minimal design biases. • Systems testing involves in testing of the entire system to verify that system requirements including specified functions, quality, and performance characteristics are met. System testing should be planned in the requirement gathering phase and should be accomplished by independent testers. • Acceptance testing involves testing the system by actual end users to ensure that it is ready for delivery and use.
