3. Our Mission
Recycling Media is a team of Umass Dartmouth
business students who plan to raise awareness
about the benefits of recycling in our
community. We aim to educate the community
using various media outlets. We will serve as
reporters for the other teams and their projects,
as our focus will be to promote their successes
as well. By utilizing social media sites, we hope
to spread awareness for our community
partner, the Greater New Bedford Regional
Refuse Management District.
4. Our Goals
Educate other groups projects with
community
Create Instagram account
Get 100 “Likes” on Facebook
Create and Distribute press release
Increase Twitter followers by 30 people
Gain 30 more friends on Facebook
6. WBSN Radio Show
Our ARD event consisted of taking two group
leaders to WBSN to spread awareness of their
prospective projects. Tim Weisberg allowed for one
hour of “on air” time to not only promote recycling,
but each group project as well.
- Group #2NB and #5 joined us for the show

Reached numerous amount of community

Engaged community with questions and
information on both Facebook and Twitter
Interacted with local community members on
radio show and gained feedback

Successes
- Reached almost all of our goals
- Educated the community on the benefits of Recycling
- Promoted all other group projects
- Used various social media outlets
Sustainability
- Through technology our group was able to avoid any and
all harm to the environment.
- Using the various media outlets we were able to make a
lasting impact on the community. Having gained new
followers and creating more awareness our efforts were
sustainable.
