Story of an original Famework for Youth Housing

Who are we?
An Association d’ « Education populaire » created in 1955, the National Union for the Youth Habitat (UNHAJ) in the Rhône-Alpes region brings together local members in from that particular region.
These members are either associations or council services who provide supported accommodation or services for young workers.

What are Youth Habitat Residences ?

Welcoming Youth between the age of 16 and 30 years
Design a social and educational project based on the following
Five principles :
 Open to all
Support from the local authorities in charge of youth and accomodation
Support to access to rights and citizenship
Maximising the potential of youth Personalised Support
Welcoming, orientation and information
Support to access to mobility and to autonomous housing
Support to Social and Professional Inclusion

An old building of 100 accommodations to be restored by the city council
Development of a Centre focused on Apprenticeships
Development of a partnership-based agreement of share services (Accorderie) to fight against poverty.

Complete restoration of a building involving around 100 accommodations, in partnership with residents and the « Cité du Design »
