Meeting Notes
Wediscussed a new trailer idea as suggested by, Mr. Crafts as he thought
that our idea would be too complex. Instead of having clips for what
would be the episode, weare now going to have a sinister parody of the
Greater British Bake-off. Wewill be filming the cake scene in the food
tech room.
Dueto the changes to the idea weneed to build a new script.

Meeting Notes
As a group, all four of us were informed that the` filming date that will take place on
the 11th November 2015 at 8:00am in which all of our group members must meet up
in MS1 (media studies room). Within the 8 hour time scale we discussed our
locations that we had previously planned as we will film within the area of Walton,
the food tech room and various other crucial locations within our plot.
We also arranged our camera resources and props forthe filming in order to
heighten the legitimacy and professionalism within our soap opera trailer. Post to
this we ensured that all of our soap opera actors were free for this date and time in
which all of these figures were. Our method of transport was also included within
this discussion, as Jonny has arranged our methods of transport via car travel.
In addition, during this 30 minute discussion it was essential that our planning and
research was in direct correlation and relevance to our actual filming plans and
adaptations, therefore each group member ensured that their tasks were updated to
the slight changes that we have made since the earlier stages of this course.
Finally, as we are all prepared for our filming date we noted down all of this
information in order to complete each task one by one and since the recent meeting
we have made all of the sufficient changes to the group planning and research and
will prepare all props in preparation for Wednesday 11th November 2015.
Actions from the meeting
 Correct, update and alter each source of planning and research
 Prepare all props for the decided date and time of filming
 Ensure that each group member attends the meeting place in time for
filming.

Meeting Notes
As a group wereflected on the work that weconducted duringfilming.
Wewere pleased to finishthe establishing shots, the adultery scene and
the violencescene. We could have been better organized, aswe did not
get to film the murder scenedueto the lack of prier planningof how the
scene was going to be structured and presented. Wealso did not account
for the blood that would be necessary to establish that it wasa murder.
On the other hand, we have film the drugscene on the 13th November as
we found that the school toilets madea better scene for the dark
atmosphere of druguse.
Weare also currently organizingfilmingdaysfor the kitchen scene.
Currentdaysstand at: Monday 16th or Thursday 19th or Friday 20th of
November, these are the daysthat Lizzie, our female actress, is available
to after school.
Actions from the meeting
 Define the exact day of filming and film on that day.

Meeting Notes
The group discussed the arrangementsof the filming of the kitchen
scene and we concluded that we are all free to film on Tuesday 24th
November. After Email communication with Mrs. Johnston (the food
tech teacher) she said that this data would beOK to use.
The group also discussed the state of the ingredientsthat we will bring
to the filming tomorrow and the ingredientsthat we have already
brought in such as the eggs and the Walton hill cake. Weconcluded that
they would be OK to use as the cake is symbolicof the chaotic natureof
Walton Hill and so does not need to be perfect.
Actions from the meeting
 Arrange the final ingredients to bring in.

The group reflected on the filming so far and concluded that wehave
filmed some good quality shots that will be very usefulin the editing of
our trailer. However, dueto timing difficultiesand scheduling issues we
have not yet film all of the ingredientsscenes, we have arranged to
filmed on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th after schoolas these daysare
regularly free for Mrs. Johnstoneto allow us to film.
In termsof editing, although lacking all of the footage we have managed
to producea roughedit that looksvery effective.

Meeting Notes
On completion of the filming conducted on Thursday 24th January the
group reflected on our work and we are currently workingon editing
the footage into the existing trailer usingmulti camera editing to
enhance the quality of the trailer.
While filmingwe finished several key shots such as both ingredients, the
mixing of the ingredients, the pouringand the placing into the oven
scenes that will make up the crucial narrative deviceto symbolizethe
badly made cake that will make up the Walton Hill cake, which in tern is
symbolic of the disturbancein Walton Hill.
However, oncewe reviewed the footage today we realized some
continuity errorsin the eggs scene, as they are not presentin the
previousshot. This will be re-filmed at a later date. Westill need to re-
film the final cake scenes dueto technical difficultiesinvolvingstreaked
lines across the picturebecause of the camera developinga fault.
Actions from the meeting
 Decide on filming date for remaining shots.

Meeting Notes
Now that we have input the footage taken from the 15th of January we are now
deciding what the special effects to apply to the footage.
One idea that Zak suggested was to apply an over-exposer effect on the flash back
scenes, as this would make it look more artistic in the representation of the
flashback. This would also make it clearer to understand that it is a flashback of
Walton Hill.
Another idea that Dan came up with was to have critical praise within a smoke
effect, as this would link into he the kitchen and baking theme of the trailer. It would
also catch people’s eye more and make the trailer more dramatic.
The group liked both ideas and these would add more drama to the trailer.
As of yet we are still unable to find a date for filming that fits in with all our
schedules but we hope to film the remaining forge soon.
Actions from the meeting
 Refine the use of special effects and put them into the trailer.
 Find filming day.

Meeting Notes
Since the last meeting the group has been applying a verity of different effects to the
trailer to find a combination that best reflects to mood that we wish to portray the
moods that we want. The effect that seems to be the most popular among all the
group members is a lower saturation to connote the dystopian nature that the
flashbacks aim to portray.
Additionally, Adam has been adding the critical praise to the trailer in order to
generate hype for the franchise. The effect that he has chosen was a flash of light that
spreads among the letters of the praise. This was chosen because of the simple but
effective way that the words were emphasized in the small timeframe available.
The group has decided to film the last shots that require the cake that need
reshooting due to camera issues on the first attempt on Thursday 25th due to the
complication of filming in school during half term.
Actions from the meeting
 Refine the use of special effects and put them into the trailer.
 Find filming day.

Meeting Notes
The group reflected on the work that we have conducted so far, we have filmed the
necessary content involving the cake on the Friday 26th February as this as more
convenient to arrange the cake delivery. We have filmed all the shots that were
required and are now currently editing the shots in the end of the trailer. We also
arrange for photos to be taken using the cake for our magazine front covers as this
will provide Adam and Jonny with more conventional shot types for the main image
of our magazine of inspiration, this will also provide a closer link to the kitchen
setting that is the over-arching marketing tool that ‘Walton Hill is using.
Additionally, Jonny has instructed Adam to put in a smoke effect to rift across the
critical praise in order to strengthen the kitchen theme of the trailer in an artistic
manor that ill grab the attention of the audience.
Actions from the meeting
 Refine the use of special effects and put them into the trailer.

Meeting Notes
The group has input the footage from the filming on the Friday 27th Friday and are
currently editing the final features that will make the trailer look more artistic and
will convey the narrative in an effective way that the audience will engage with. We
have also recorded the non-diegetic voice over that will convey the crucial point of
call information that will inform the audience of the day and time that the new soap
opera would be broadcast.
The group is currently adding after effect to the flashbacks to build on the practice
that they had performed earlier, the dominant idea at present is to have a puling
“bass shake” effect to simulate the distortion that Adam has when taking drugs.
Actions from the meeting
 Refine the use of special effects and put them into the trailer.

Meeting Notes
The group has completed the critical praise to be inserted into the trailer at certain
points. We decided to use a smoke effect to emphasis the kitchen theme that runs
throughout the narrative of the trailer. During the making of the of the effect we
found that we did not have the expertise in order to instinctively know how to start
the process, however, we used our skills that we learnt in Premiere Pro and
assistance from help guide on YouTube to produce three professional looking pieces
that will be a valuable asset to the overall trailer.
The group discussed the possibility of finishing the trailer and we concluded that we
could use the lesson tomorrow to input the critical praise into the trailer and apply
the lighting effects on the other flashbacks to keep with the stylized nature of the
trailer that we have produced.
Actions from the meeting
 Refine the use of special effects and put them into the trailer.

Within the 8 hour time scale we discussed our locations that we had previously planned as we will film within the area of Walton, the food tech room and various other crucial locations within our plot. We also arranged our camera resources and props forthe filming in order to heighten the legitimacy and professionalism within our soap opera trailer. Post to this we ensured that all of our soap opera actors were free for this date and time in which all of these figures were. Our method of transport was also included within this discussion, as Jonny has arranged our methods of transport via car travel. In addition, during this 30 minute discussion it was essential that our planning and research was in direct correlation and relevance to our actual filming plans and adaptations, therefore each group member ensured that their tasks were updated to the slight changes that we have made since the earlier stages of this course. Finally, as we are all prepared for our filming date we noted down all of this information in order to complete each task one by one and since the recent meeting we have made all of the sufficient changes to the group planning and research and will prepare all props in preparation for Wednesday 11th November 2015. • 12. 12 Date 16/11/2015 Meeting Number 12 Present and role in the Production Name: Johnny Sheehan Signature: Name: Dan Sgarbini Signature: Name: Adam Fox Signature: Name: Zak Winsall Signature: Agenda: 1. Reflection of filming 2. Arrangements for other filming 5. AOB Meeting Notes As a group wereflected on the work that weconducted duringfilming. Wewere pleased to finishthe establishing shots, the adultery scene and the violencescene. We could have been better organized, aswe did not get to film the murder scenedueto the lack of prier planningof how the scene was going to be structured and presented. Wealso did not account for the blood that would be necessary to establish that it wasa murder. On the other hand, we have film the drugscene on the 13th November as we found that the school toilets madea better scene for the dark atmosphere of druguse. Weare also currently organizingfilmingdaysfor the kitchen scene. Currentdaysstand at: Monday 16th or Thursday 19th or Friday 20th of November, these are the daysthat Lizzie, our female actress, is available to after school. Actions from the meeting  Define the exact day of filming and film on that day.

After Email communication with Mrs. Johnston (the food tech teacher) she said that this data would beOK to use. The group also discussed the state of the ingredientsthat we will bring to the filming tomorrow and the ingredientsthat we have already brought in such as the eggs and the Walton hill cake. Weconcluded that they would be OK to use as the cake is symbolicof the chaotic natureof Walton Hill and so does not need to be perfect. Actions from the meeting  Arrange the final ingredients to bring in.
  • 14. 14 Date 10/12/2015 Meeting Number 14 Present and role in the Production Name: Johnny Sheehan Signature: Name: Dan Sgarbini Signature: Name: Adam Fox Signature: Name: Zak Winsall Signature: Agenda: 1. Arrangements for other filming 2. Reflection of work so far 5. AOB Meeting Notes The group reflected on the filming so far and concluded that wehave filmed some good quality shots that will be very usefulin the editing of our trailer. However, dueto timing difficultiesand scheduling issues we have not yet film all of the ingredientsscenes, we have arranged to filmed on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th after schoolas these daysare regularly free for Mrs. Johnstoneto allow us to film. In termsof editing, although lacking all of the footage we have managed to producea roughedit that looksvery effective. Actions from the meeting  Arrange further filming.

AOB Meeting Notes The group discussed the preplanned datesfor filmingfound that we may not be able to film today dueto illness of crew and our actress. We also found that we also cannot film on Thursday becauseLizzie is going on holiday on that date. In light of this Johnny and Zak are going to film exterior shots of the village hall at Walton hill today, also, weare filmingthe rest of the ingredientshots will be filmed after school tomorrow. As this is when Lizzie and the filmingcrew in our group areavailable to film. Actions from the meeting  Film the establishing shots.  Gather materials for ingredient shots such as the theme labels.
  • 17. 17 Date 15/01/2016 Meeting Number 17 Present and role in the Production Name: Dan Sgarbini Signature: Name: Adam Fox Signature: Name: Zak Winsall Signature: Name Johnny Sheehan Signature: Agenda: 1. Arrangements for other filming 2. Reflection of work so far 5. AOB Meeting Notes On completion of the filming conducted on Thursday 24th January the group reflected on our work and we are currently workingon editing the footage into the existing trailer usingmulti camera editing to enhance the quality of the trailer. While filmingwe finished several key shots such as both ingredients, the mixing of the ingredients, the pouringand the placing into the oven scenes that will make up the crucial narrative deviceto symbolizethe badly made cake that will make up the Walton Hill cake, which in tern is symbolic of the disturbancein Walton Hill. However, oncewe reviewed the footage today we realized some continuity errorsin the eggs scene, as they are not presentin the previousshot. This will be re-filmed at a later date. Westill need to re- film the final cake scenes dueto technical difficultiesinvolvingstreaked lines across the picturebecause of the camera developinga fault. Actions from the meeting  Decide on filming date for remaining shots.
  • 18. 18 Date 21/01/2016 Meeting Number 18 Present and role in the Production Name: Dan Sgarbini Signature: Name: Adam Fox Signature: Name: Zak Winsall Signature: Name Johnny Sheehan Signature: Agenda: 1. Arrangements for other filming 2. Editing review 5. AOB Meeting Notes Now that we have input the footage taken from the 15th of January we are now deciding what the special effects to apply to the footage. One idea that Zak suggested was to apply an over-exposer effect on the flash back scenes, as this would make it look more artistic in the representation of the flashback. This would also make it clearer to understand that it is a flashback of Walton Hill. Another idea that Dan came up with was to have critical praise within a smoke effect, as this would link into he the kitchen and baking theme of the trailer. It would also catch people’s eye more and make the trailer more dramatic. The group liked both ideas and these would add more drama to the trailer. As of yet we are still unable to find a date for filming that fits in with all our schedules but we hope to film the remaining forge soon. Actions from the meeting  Refine the use of special effects and put them into the trailer.  Find filming day.
  • 19. 19 Date 26/03/2016 Meeting Number 19 Present and role in the Production Name: Dan Sgarbini Signature: Name: Adam Fox Signature: Name: Zak Winsall Signature: Name Johnny Sheehan Signature: Agenda: 1. Arrangements for other filming 2. Editing review 5. AOB Meeting Notes Since the last meeting the group has been applying a verity of different effects to the trailer to find a combination that best reflects to mood that we wish to portray the moods that we want. The effect that seems to be the most popular among all the group members is a lower saturation to connote the dystopian nature that the flashbacks aim to portray. Additionally, Adam has been adding the critical praise to the trailer in order to generate hype for the franchise. The effect that he has chosen was a flash of light that spreads among the letters of the praise. This was chosen because of the simple but effective way that the words were emphasized in the small timeframe available. The group has decided to film the last shots that require the cake that need reshooting due to camera issues on the first attempt on Thursday 25th due to the complication of filming in school during half term. Actions from the meeting  Refine the use of special effects and put them into the trailer.  Find filming day.
  • 20. 20 Date 01/03/2016 Meeting Number 20 Present and role in the Production Name: Dan Sgarbini Signature: Name: Adam Fox Signature: Name: Zak Winsall Signature: Name Johnny Sheehan Signature: Agenda: 1. Editing review 5. AOB Meeting Notes The group reflected on the work that we have conducted so far, we have filmed the necessary content involving the cake on the Friday 26th February as this as more convenient to arrange the cake delivery. We have filmed all the shots that were required and are now currently editing the shots in the end of the trailer. We also arrange for photos to be taken using the cake for our magazine front covers as this will provide Adam and Jonny with more conventional shot types for the main image of our magazine of inspiration, this will also provide a closer link to the kitchen setting that is the over-arching marketing tool that ‘Walton Hill is using. Additionally, Jonny has instructed Adam to put in a smoke effect to rift across the critical praise in order to strengthen the kitchen theme of the trailer in an artistic manor that ill grab the attention of the audience. Actions from the meeting  Refine the use of special effects and put them into the trailer.
  • 21. 21 Date 03/03/2016 Meeting Number 21 Present and role in the Production Name: Dan Sgarbini Signature: Name: Adam Fox Signature: Name: Zak Winsall Signature: Name Johnny Sheehan Signature: Agenda: 1. Editing review 5. AOB Meeting Notes The group has input the footage from the filming on the Friday 27th Friday and are currently editing the final features that will make the trailer look more artistic and will convey the narrative in an effective way that the audience will engage with. We have also recorded the non-diegetic voice over that will convey the crucial point of call information that will inform the audience of the day and time that the new soap opera would be broadcast. The group is currently adding after effect to the flashbacks to build on the practice that they had performed earlier, the dominant idea at present is to have a puling “bass shake” effect to simulate the distortion that Adam has when taking drugs. Actions from the meeting  Refine the use of special effects and put them into the trailer.
  • 22. 22 Date 15/03/2016 Meeting Number 22 Present and role in the Production Name: Dan Sgarbini Signature: Name: Adam Fox Signature: Name: Zak Winsall Signature: Name Johnny Sheehan Signature: Agenda: 1. Visual effects review 5. AOB Meeting Notes The group has completed the critical praise to be inserted into the trailer at certain points. We decided to use a smoke effect to emphasis the kitchen theme that runs throughout the narrative of the trailer. During the making of the of the effect we found that we did not have the expertise in order to instinctively know how to start the process, however, we used our skills that we learnt in Premiere Pro and assistance from help guide on YouTube to produce three professional looking pieces that will be a valuable asset to the overall trailer. The group discussed the possibility of finishing the trailer and we concluded that we could use the lesson tomorrow to input the critical praise into the trailer and apply the lighting effects on the other flashbacks to keep with the stylized nature of the trailer that we have produced. Actions from the meeting  Refine the use of special effects and put them into the trailer.
