This document summarizes a magazine article about an artist named Dom and his journey to achieving his dream of becoming a musician. 2. ARTICLE
This is my final article, the things featured in the article show the struggle that
the featured artist went through and how through all the different challenges
life threw at him he’d always persevere. The main magazine style that influenced
my double page spread was ‘Q’ which is where the use of the opaque “DS” behind
the text of the article came from as I felt it was a good way to represent who the
article was about. I mainly used a black and white colour theme for my magazine
but made it so the opaque ‘DS’ text was blue so that it stood out from the rest of
the article and also because I used the colour blue on my front cover.

3. TITLE
I decided to use “Endless Means of Chasing Dreams” as my title as I felt it fit well with the content
within the article about how he started with nothing but a Guitar but pursued and found his dream. I
feel it can be seen as quite a cliché title which may draw the reader’s eye to it. I used a slightly
distorted font for the title as a way of showing it’s not easy to catch your dream and it requires a lot
of patience and dedication. I used a black and white coloured title because I felt it worked well with
the distortion of the text and made it seem like sometimes life can feel like it’s in black and white
when you’re feeling down.

4. IMAGES
I only used one image for my double page spread but I feel it is very appropriate
as it shows that there are many paths that people have to go down to reach their
dreams but there will always be the one path that finally takes you there no
matter how many dead ends there are before you find the correct path and
finally achieve what it was you were looking for. I also feel the fact he is looking
away from the camera works well as it shows he stayed focused on what he was
trying to achieve and didn’t let anything sway him or put him off his dream of
becoming an acoustic artist.

5. ARTICLE TEXT
My article tells the story of how Dom gained his fame and popularity. It addresses
how he first started out with a busted guitar and would busk on the streets as a
way to try and distract himself from the horrible things that were happening
around him. I decided to also include some quotes as it shows the audience things
that he has said himself. Throughout the article I have tried to ensure the story is
consistent and that there is no sudden changes other than that of the end where it
goes on to advertise his new upcoming album and his tour across the UK. I feel the
layout of my article is very clean and isn’t hard to read as I kept the text across 3
columns and tried to ensure it was spaced enough to ensure it was still readable
which I feel I was able to achieve.

6. BRANDING
• I TRIED MY BEST TO ENSURE THIS ARTICLE WAS SEEN AS ACOUSTIC SOLUTION’S OWN INTERVIEW WITH
THE ARTIST THROUGH THE MENTION OF IT IN THE ARTICLE ITSELF WITH THE USE OF “HE SENT US OFF”
WHICH SHOWS THAT THIS INTERVIEW WAS HELD BY SOME OF THE JOURNALISTS AT ACOUSTIC
SOLUTIONS AND WASN’T SOMETHING THAT WAS TAKEN FROM SOMEBODY ELSE.

7. PAGE NUMBERS
For the page numbers I tried to stick with the main colour scheme of the magazine
consisting of red, light grey/white and black. I feel I was able to make very clean looking
page numbers that weren’t hard to read and were easy to find on the page therefore making
it easier for the audience to find out what page they were on. I also feel my page numbers fit
well in the bottom corners of the page as they aren’t too much of a distraction to the eye as I
kept them to a minimal size rather than making them extremely massive on the corner of
the page. Despite being small they were still very much visible if the reader is looking for
the page number.

8. MULTI-PLATFORM
I included the link to the website in the footer of the double page spread to once again show that we are in-
fact multi-platform and we do have a website as well as a magazine. I feel by it being in the footer when
people are looking for the page numbers they are likely to scan their eyes across the footer and see the
link and then it will make them curious as to what extra information is included on our website that isn’t
put in our magazine.
