Why have you chosen your
Production Company Logo?
 A production logo is a logo used by movie studios to brand what they produce. Production logos are usually
seen at the beginning or the end of a movie. The production company logo I have produced has a huge
element to my opening as the genre is horror. In my logo you can see many aspects of horror; this will
represent my opening hugely and also gives a strong hint towards the audience about what genre it
may be. I have specifically used black and white for my colour scheme my reason being is that the black
and white format, with its shadows and darkness is especially suited to the horror genre as darkness is
used within a the horror genre significantly.

 The name of my production company is ‘Dark Vision’. The ‘Dark Vision’ production name is presented by a
eye with a pitch black and dark essence of evil with a mysterious iris. I have decided not to add a
background into my logo as I want the eye to be the central image at its most; this also makes the logo
seem more professional.
 My production logo has a human eye as its main background, it links in with the company name ‘Dark
Vision’ as it displays that somebody or something is watching you and tells the audience everything
your about to see will be inflicted with darkness. It sums up an evil entity visualizing dark, malicious
surroundings. ‘Dark Vision Productions’ is in a blood type font, this helps the audience identify what
genre it may be even more as blood is a huge convention is horror films. The word are written in black,
although blood is red we decided to keep the black and white format as it links in with the words and
creates a stronger production company logo overall. The logo should easily fright and hint the audience
into what they will be watching.

What is a Production Company Logo? What
do they do?
A Production Company Logo is used by movie studios to trademark what
they produce. A production company essentially helps to create the film- its
assists in the budgeting, scheduling, scripting, casting and more. The
company usually looks over the film from when its just an idea to
completion. They are responsible for finding a director and the majority of
acting talent required. However they are also responsible if anything were
to go wrong on the film, for example and actor being injured or property
being damaged
What is the job of a Film
Distributor?A film distributor basically sends your film out onto the screens for the
waiting audiences to watch. A film distributor decides where and when the
film will show and they also promote the film. The process of distributing
includes a numbers of steps. Firstly they have to determine how many
copies of the film to make. The film is then previewed to prospective
buyers- e.g. cinema owners. The film is then sent to the cinemas shortly
before it opens. The cinema then shows the movie and after people have
seen it, it will get sent back to the distributors and payment is agreed.
However in smaller budge films, more steps may be necessary.

We decided to choose the distribution company E-
Stars Films. This is because we thought it would fit
our film requirements and from researching on
different distribution companies we found E-Stars
was the best choice. It has handled a lot of low
budget films as well as high budget films and has
had success in distributing a lot of horror films such
like “sinister” a horror movie that was very
successful and made a huge profit.
How would your film be funded? How would your film be funded?
We would hope to get the British Film Institute to fund our film, as they
already invest over £26 million of lottery funds to support film
development, production and distribution activity in the UK. We would
apply for the funding and hope the BFI would support our film. They
would be able to provide us the money so we wouldn’t be in financial
difficulty whilst in the production of our film. This would also help us to
advertise and promote our film in other countries other than just the
UK.
Titles Why do you need them? How have youTitles Why do you need them? How have you
presented them?presented them?
It is important for film openings to include titles. People that have worked
hard on the production of the film have to have recognition and credit
of their involvement of the film. Common titles used are, director,
producer, actors, costume designer, editor and music. Every name
should be accounted and should be recognised for their help and role.
We have presented them using transitions to fade in bold and clear with
the right colour scheme to suit the genre.
