WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION
 MIGHT DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA
     PRODUCT AND Brown
                Kiera
                      WHY?
Production company
A production company essentially
helps to create the film- it assists
in the budgeting, scheduling,
scripting, casting and more. The
company usually looks over the
film from when it’s just an idea to
the completion. They are
responsible for finding a director
and the majority of acting talent
required. My production logo is
very eye catching so therefore
grabs peoples attention. I have
typically used one image in the
middle of my logo so that it
doesn’t look overcrowded or
unrealistic.
Film distribution
A film distributor is a company or individual
responsible for the marketing of a film. The
distributor may set the release date of a film and
the method by which a film is to be exhibited or
made available for viewing. A distributor may do
this directly, if the distributor owns the theaters or
film distribution networks, or through theatrical
exhibitors and other sub-distributors. A limited
distributor may deal only with particular products,
such as DVDs or Blu-ray, or may act in a particular
country or market.
Momentum pictures
The film distribution company
that I would use for my film
would be Momentum Pictures. I
have chosen to this company in
particular because they have
previously distributed other
films in the horror genre that
have made a lot of money.
Some of the films that they have
distributed in the same genre as
my film are, Sinister, The
Woman in Black, House at the
End of the Street and
Grindhouse.
Funding
All films are funded by different
ways. My film will be funded by
the BFI. The BFI was founded in
1933. They are a charity
governed by a Royal Charter.
They combine cultural, creative
and industrial roles, bringing
together the BFI National Archive
and BFI Reuben Library, film
distribution, exhibition at BFI
Southbank and BFI IMAX,
publishing and festivals. They
award Lottery funding to film
production, distribution,
education, audience development
Film Titles
I have added in titles to my
film opening as it is a typical
generic convention of any
genre film. No matter what
genre the film is you will
definitely see titles in the film
opening. Film titles are there
to inform the audience about
who was involved in the
production and distribution
stages of that film. I have
presented the titles in my film
opening by using a black
background with red and
white writing over the top.
Influential films
There have been many
different films that have
influenced in the production of
my horror films. One of the
main films that played a major
role in influencing my film is
‘Orphan.’ I have used their idea
of using a young girl but
changing the fact she will be
the victim in my film not the
villain. I have also used their
costume ideas. I have dressed
my victim in similar clothes the
girl in Orphan would wear at
night time.
