1. How to take portraits
2. How to use gimp
3. How to make a music video
Portrait tip 1
• This follows the rule of thirds because the eyes line up with
the middle. It is very common for photographers to follow this
rule to enhance and make the picture LOOK better.
Portrait tip 2
• When taking portraits, you never
want to have a blank expression on
your face. Smiling is always good.
• Wearing a shirt that accents your
skin works too, a white shirt can
make you look pale where as a black
or brown shirt can make you look
more tan.
• Positioning your body to the camera
is something to keep in mind as
well, such as how your shoulders are
pointed towards the camera or chin.
Portrait tip 3
• Make sure your clothing is not
the same color as the
background, this can create an
invisible illusion.
• Try to keep your clothing as
simple as possible, too much
patterns are no good.
How to use gimp
To cut out the background of an image is easy, Just
follow these steps!
1. Open the image you wish to edit in gimp.
2. Select the “free select tool”.
3. Start outlining the image where you want to
cut it. If you want the feathering effect just click
feather edges.
4. Once you’ve outlined the image, go on “Select”
above the image and click invert.
5. Hit delete to get rid of the background.
6. Copy the image or click control + C.
7. Open a new gimp page with the height and
width set to 1000x1000.
8. After you’ve done this you can then paste the
image you just worked on, on the new page.
9. If the image is small and you want to make it fit
the screen just choose the “scale tool” and pull
it to the desired size.
10. Once finished, hit save!

you want the feathering effect just click feather edges.
4. Once you’ve outlined the image, go on “Select” above
the image and click invert.
5. Hit delete to get rid of the background.
6. Copy the image or click control + C.
7. Open a new gimp page with the height and width set
to 1000x1000.
8. After you’ve done this you can then paste the image
you just worked on, on the new page.
9. If the image is small and you want to make it fit the
screen just choose the “scale tool” and pull it to the
desired size.
10. Once finished, hit save!
How to use gimp 3
After editing your images and cutting out
the background,
1. Open the first image as the first layer.
2. Then open the second image as the
second layer.
3. If you would like to cut the second layer
a little bit more to fit the first one, just
choose the “free select” tool and
outline it a little bit more.
4. After doing that, select invert then hit
delete.
5. Once you’re satisfied with your second
layer, choose the “scale tool” to make it
fit the second layer.
6. Choose the “move tool” to move it in
the desired position.
7. Now you’re ready to save it!
How to make a music video
• The first thing you
have to do is create
your storyboard. This
has got to be the most
important part of your
music video. Every
detail must be
planned and made on
your storyboard.
How to make a music video
• Once you’ve got
everything planned on
your storyboard, then
you’re set to start
shooting your clips.
• Try to use different
angles.
• Get as much footage as
you can so you’ll have
the right scenes you
want. It’s easy to cut
out parts once you edit
it.
How to make a music video
• Now that you’ve got all your
footage, it’s time to edit!
• First thing you want to do is
insert your music.
• Then start inserting your clips
and cut them to the desired
time one by one.
• After you’ve done that and all
your clips are in order, make
sure your music and clips are at
the same length.
• Now that you’ve got everything
set, you can start fooling around
with the effects and make it
look awesome.
End.
