Media Camera Angles: Camera Angles are used to represent age as being intimidating. A close up of the victim takes audiences into the mind of the character and makes us feel extremely uncomfortable, and subconsciously we know something bad is going to happen. The close up reaction shot gives us the opportunity to see how the victims face drastically changes from happy on the phone, to his face dropping. The audience then knows something is very wrong, without seeing what has made him frightened. This is a very dramatic effect because we instantly want to know what he has seen, and keeps on looking, especially since we can tell its not something good by his facial expression. The medium long shot when the intimidators come out of the shop is a good angle because we can see the background and their body language, which reinforces the idea of intimidation. We are able to see the way the characters bound out of the shop carelessly, not caring if they get into anyone’s way. This also shows us the costume and setting, where the audience automatically make stereotypical judgements.
