Target audience is an important factor of films, as it is the reaction from the target
audience that infers weather the film is good or not. This means that when the initial
release of a film is arriving such things like viral marketing will take place, as a call for the
target audience so that when the film is released there is a positive reaction from the
target audience.
Drama: A drama film mostly depends on an in-depth development of realistic characters
dealing with realistic emotional themes. Drama is the most broad of movie genres and
includes a lot of sub genres. They typically appeal to both the young mature and older
audience, of both gender, due to the strong script that all drama films offer.
Thriller: In general thriller genre attracts a whole range of target audiences as a familiarity
amongst all audiences is that majority of people enjoy the pleasure of watching a film with a
little tension and excitement. Amongst all the target audiences within the film industry mid-
teens and young adults tend to watch thriller films the most. A thriller film is embodied by
the typical codes and conventions, and these ages are more likely to understand a heavily
put storyline and therefore are more likely to enjoy the film. Courageous emotions are
incorporated within a thriller filmto emphasise the film as a whole. Therefore, when mid-
teens and adults watch thriller films they are literally left on the edge of their seat. This is
because all of the codes and conventions that have been used are exaggerated, which
implies a greater impact on the audience.

2. My target audience:
 15+ (because the movie will contain aspects of violence, death etc. but the content is
not overly explicit so it will not be 18+)
 The filmmay predominately target Males because of the violent content.
 But it’s also targeted at females due to the realistic and dramatic element to it.
 Any social class.
 Generally targeted at anyone who enjoys drama/thriller films.
