Hai this is very interesting topic for the dental students and also for the PG of orthodontics .So just have a glance over it and always your suggestions are heartly welcome.please free to suggest and make necessary suggestions.
Physical and mechanical properties and its application in orthodonticsHardik Lalakiya
This is a nice seminar about the physical and mechanical properties and some nice images and almost some good concepts are there so just watch this and any suggestions are heartly welcome feel free to advise and suggest thanks.

Mechanical Properties of Dental MaterialsHemavathi N
Mechanical properties are defined by the laws of mechanics i.e. the physical science dealing with forces that act on bodies and the resultant motion, deformation, or stresses that those bodies experiences.
Mechanical properties are usually expressed in units of stress and/or strain.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Acetabularia Information For Class 9 .docxvaibhavrinwa19
Acetabularia acetabulum is a single-celled green alga that in its vegetative state is morphologically differentiated into a basal rhizoid and an axially elongated stalk, which bears whorls of branching hairs. The single diploid nucleus resides in the rhizoid.
2. Mechanical properties are defined by law of
mechanics that is the physical science dealing
with forces that acts on bodies and the
resultant motion ,deformation, or stress that
those bodies experience…
4. When a force acts on body, tending to produce
deformation, a resistance is developed within
the body to this external force. The internal
resistance of the body to the external force is
called stress…
Stress=force/area
5. Results in a body when it subjected to two sets
of forces that are directed away from each
other in the straight line. The load tends to
stretch or elongate a body…
6. Results when the body is subjected to two sets
of forces in the same straight line but directed
towards each other. The load tends to or
shortens a body…
7. Shear stress is a result of two forces directed
parallel to each other. A stress that tends to
resist a twisting motion, or a sliding of one
portion of a body over another is a shear or
shearing stress…
8.
9. Strain is expressed as change in length per unit
length of the body when a stress is applied …
Strain = deformation or change in length
/original length…
10. Elastic strain
Due to stress, if the body undergoes reversible
change in shape it is called elastic strain.
Plastic strain
Due to stress, if the body undergoes irreversible
change in shape it is called plastic strain.
11. The greatest stress that may be produced in a
material such that the stress is directly
proportional to strain…
12. Whenever forces is applied over a body ,
complex or multiple stresses are produced.
These may be a combination of tensile, shear
or compressive stresses.These multiple
stresses are called complex stresses…
13. If we take a cylinder and subject it to tensile
stress or compressive stress, there is
simultaneous axial and lateral strain.Within
the elastic range the ratio of the lateral to the
axial strain is called Poisson's ratio…
14. Elastic limit is the maximum stress that a
material will withstand without permanent
deformation.
15. The stress at which a material exhibits a
specified limiting deviation from
proportionality of stress to strain…
16. It represents the relative stiffness or rigidity of
the material within the elastic range.
Young’s modulus is the ratio of stress to strain.
Since stress is proportional to strain, the stress
to strain ratio would be constant.
17. It is defined as the strain that occurs when the
material is stressed to its proportional limit.
Maximum flexibility[EM]=proportional limit/
modulus of elasticity.
18. It is the energy required to fracture a material
under an impact force.
A charpy type impact tester is used.
Another instruments called izod impact tester
can also be used…
19. Once the elastic limit of the material is crossed
by a specific amount of stress, the further
increase in strain is called permanent
deformation…
i.e the resulting change in dimension is
permanent …
20. A structure subjected to repeated or cyclic
stresses below its proportional limit can
produce abrupt failure of the structure. This
type of failure is called fatigue…
21. It is defined as the energy required to fracture a
material. It is the property of the material
which describes how difficult the material
would be to break…
23. It is the ability of material to withstand
permanent deformation under a tensile load
without rupture…
A metal that can be drawn into wire is said to
be ductile.
24. It is the ability of the material to withstand
rupture under compression ,as in hammering or
rolling into a sheet…
Most malleable metal is gold ,then silver ,
platinum and copper…
25. It is defined as the ability of a material to resist
scratching….
27. A diamond indenting tool is used. knoop
hardness values for both exceedingly hard
and soft materials can be obtained from this
test.
It is a type of microhardness test…
