The document defines and provides steps to calculate the median, range, mode, and mean of a data set. It defines the median as the middle number, range as the difference between highest and lowest values, mode as the most frequent value, and mean as the average obtained by summing all values and dividing by the count. Steps are given to arrange the data and calculate each statistic, with examples provided for each type of calculation.

Slide 1: Introduction
Slide 2-3: What is Ratio?
Ratio is a comparison of two numbers by division.
Or
Relationship between two numbers by division.
Slide 4-6: Difference between ratios and fractions
Mathematically, ratios and fractions are the Same Thing.
Slide 7: Applications of Ratios
Ratios are used all the time to represent all sorts of things in real world situations.
Slide 8-13: Ratio Problems and Solving Techniques
Example: 1 There are 3 oranges in a bowl containing 12 pieces of fruit. What is the ratio of oranges to the total amount of fruit?
Solution: The ratio of oranges to total fruit would be 1:4
Example: 2 There are 120 boys and 180 girls in a classroom. What is the ratio of boys to girls?
Solution: The ratio of boys to girls would be 2:3
Slide 14: Thank You

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
4. To find the Median in a group of
numbers.
• Step 1: Arrange the numbers in order
from least to greatest.
• Step 2: Find the middle number.
• Step 3: If there are two middle numbers,
then find the mean (average) of the two
numbers.
14. To find the Range in a group of
numbers
• Step 1: arrange the numbers in order
from least to greatest.
• Step 2: find the lowest and highest
numbers.
• Step 3: Find the difference between the
two numbers.
23. How to find the Mode in a group of
numbers.
• Step 1: Arrange the numbers in order
from least to greatest.
• Step 2: Find the number that is
repeated the most. If there isn’t one
then there is no mode.
30. To find the Mean (average) of a
group of numbers.
• Step 1: Add all of the numbers together.
• Step 2: Divide the sum of the numbers
by how many numbers there are.
